When Dr. Alexandra Phillips is requested to be Earth's Ambassador for the Azurites, an alien species named for their striking blue azure eyes, the last thing she expected was to fall in love for one of their kind. Known for their cold demeanor and sterile environment, the Azurites no longer shared physical intimacy and relied on a queue system to pair them with partners. Not exactly romantic.
Raedyn, Lexi's liaison between the Azurties, could not bear a human touch, let alone a kiss, or more... As his time draws near to be added to the partner list, will he follow the safe route, completing his duty for his people? Or will he rebel?
Lexi faces a decision. Will she remain on the Firthford and become representative of a new earth colony and forge ahead giving her heart to Raedyn? Or will she return to the Earth and the familiar life she knows?
This book contains adult content including hot aliens and awkward sex scenes. For mature audiences 18 and older.
2.5 rounded up. I enjoyed it but it didn't live up to it's promise. Sexy alien fluff. Alex(andra) the linguist and Raedyn the stuffy Alien. The author laid the groundwork for some interesting world building, but then doesn't carry it through. Everything sounds 'human' long before the end. Even the stuff that originally was 'alien'. The aliens have given up intimacy and even touch makes them so uncomfortable they get nauseous. Of course Alex is a touchy feely person and well, it kinda annoyed me that she was so culturally insensitive. She didn't exhibit much intelligence except for her 'linguistic abilities'. Raedyn does such a 180 that I almost missed it. I wish there had been more time given to the 'educating' cause if you blink you'll miss it. The author tries to make up for it by adding in some weird anatomical perks to Raedyn...
Le me start by saying I am a hypocrite. I chose this book because it was so short. (69 pages). But after reading it I found I wanted it to be much longer. I enjoyed the first night the couples spent together, kissing (and a little more) but after that it was quite rushed. How do we get from a male who is afraid of germs and makes her gargle with Listerine and scrub her hands just a kiss… Cut to.. the next day and he performs oral sex on her? I feel like there are some missing steps in there! Plus, I LOVE this innocent type of virgin hero. So untouched and damaged with no idea of what to do. I would have loved chapters on him and his experiences from his POV. She is a human female who has already had sex. I’m already know her POV. I want more or what he is thinking and feeling.
Besides the sex I was surprised about how much actual plot could be fit into 69 pages. But like I said, this could have been a full on novel.
I am definitely moving on to book 2: Jamie. I hope I get a little more everything.
