They know a thousand ways to kill...and zero ways to love.
Baxter is the Battle Bunny everyone stares at. He's pierced in places that make life interesting, as snarky as they come, and so lonely his heart screams out for someone to simply acknowledge his existence. When someone does, Bax feels as though he has to fight everyone, including his own brothers, to keep the man that speaks to his soul.
Dominic O'Leary had been the alpha of his pack when they were betrayed and turned over to the scientists. By the time he escaped, his pack was decimated and Dominic and his brother had been changed forever. Discovering his mate among a family of bunnies should have brought him great joy, but the scientists took that from him with their sick experiments.
When Baxter's family prevents him from claiming his mate, Dominic must use an ancient and seldom used law to force them to allow him time with Bax. But an interfering family seems to be the least of their problems. People are getting sick, the baby won't stop crying, and the vampire who owns their abandoned mansion is back. No one ever said life was easy, but does it have to be so damn hard?
Bellann Summer lives in the middle of nowhere with her husband and children surrounded by lakes and woods. In the summer Bellann enjoys fishing, camping, gardening and growing flowers. Autumn is spent out in the woods exploring the beautiful colors and nature at its finest. In the winter there is ice fishing, snowmobiling and sitting in front of the wood fireplace. She has always loved to read and any free time is spent with a book in her hand. When major life changes occurred, she decided to try writing what she liked to read. And it worked.
Oh how I'm loving these Battle Bunnies! It's mate stories just how I like them with some mystery and intrigue. Dom was the hot alpha wolf and Baxter was his little bunny who could hold his own in a fight. Badass ninja bunnies!
I liked this better than the first. Apart from the obvious for me - BATTLE BUNNIES!!! - sorry for screaming it out loud, it makes me bubbly, this one has more going on in terms of mates. It does not go as quick and smooth for Dominic and Baxter.
There was nothing really wrong or overlooked about Baxter except his piercings which is not bad at all and extremely controlling elder brother Clay (what was his problem was a BIG QUESTION). He was fighting just like the rest of them but that all changed when he met Dominic. I really liked how the meeting went first time which actually happened in the first book.
Dominic being alpha and all is growly and possessive and well gorgeous too. I mean they are all always gorgeous, darn it. Not even a stray wart or anything. But never mind that! They would be happy to claim each other but there is kicker, which I will not tell so you will have to keep guessing, and they can't mate and they separate. From that point it's on! Everything from running away to slight maiming occurs but I am happy to say they are soon together and happy!
There are some additional secondary lines interspersed in the book that make it fuller and how to say this, less shallow, if I can put it that way. The focus is not only on MCs but on everyone else too. I really liked that. The S*E*X was hot and steamy and not a lot of it so it was not crowding the story and was nice to read. Never skipped a page!
It's a nice addition to the series and I will continue on with the series because I like it, I like the plot and I like all the characters! I am a paranormal love junkie!!! Highly recommend.
In this second book of the ‘Battle Bunnies’ series, it’s Baxter who meets his mate, an alpha wolf who works for the council and goes by the name of Dominic. But they face more than one issue: the evil scientists who experimented on Dominic caused a change that means he no longer has a scent – and without that, Baxter can’t be sure Dominic is his mate. And that results in the overprotective oldest brother, head of the legendary Battle Bunnies, to go into full protective mode and attempting to keep the wolf away from Baxter. Added to the external issues they continue to have, Baxter and Dominic have their hands full trying to mate and stay alive.
Baxter is just a little different from his brothers. My guess is they all are, considering that Bailey from book one is blind, but Baxter feels his differences more intensely than the others. He also doesn’t want the differences to go away. So it’s not just his piercings that set him apart. But when a half-crazed with lust alpha wolf comes after him, Baxter isn’t so sure he wants to stand out anymore. He can’t smell Dominic, but he does feel drawn to him – if only his stupid oldest brother would stop interfering! Given a few moments alone, Baxter is sure he’d be able to figure it out. But that is not meant to be.
Dominic knows that Baxter is his mate, he can smell him just fine. He hates how overprotective Baxter’s brothers are, and decides his only chance is to take extreme measures. The Solvency Rule may not be known to the bunnies, which doesn’t help, but luckily Bailey’s mate, Vey the gargoyle, is well aware how it works. He and Dominic’s brother make sure all goes as it is supposed to – until external events interfere and Dominic ends up fighting for his and his mate’s life.
I was pretty much ready to strangle Baxter’s meddling brothers and think Dominic was still pretty nice to them. These personal issues and the added external stress, new discoveries, and more mystery around the scientists and their experiments made for a very exciting adventure with some hints as to who is next. I can’t wait!
If you like a little humor with your paranormal stories, if two men who want to mate but are stopped by unwilling family and chaotic events are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is suspenseful, full of new mysteries, and some hot action between the sheets, then you will probably like this novella.

I am really loving this new series. So far, at least, it definitely has veered from the same old, same old, and introduced fascinating characters, great matings, and a nice mystery. Baxter and Dom are great together. Bailey and Vey had their three little kits - yay! Looks like Sal's fortune given to him by a seer when he was a young boy has come true as Sal is, indeed, the mate to vampire Alberto Montello. And, bunny brother, Beau, seems to not be happy at the prospect of being vampire Prince Dario Montello's mate. Oh, and the mansion they've been hiding out in that they thought was abandoned, is owned by the prince. Yep, things are getting more and more interesting. I can't wait to find out the whole deal about the baby, the duck, and Clay.
Easy read, and Baxter so far is my favorite bunny because he's so humorous with his wolf. Who would have thought a wolf and bunny belong together but Stormie and Bellann did.
Baxter is the snarky one within his family. He uses sarcasm to hide his insecurities. But Dominic doesn’t allow Baxter the safety of words and attitude. He sees beneath the surface, but without a scent, can Dominic prove there are mates. Will Baxter’s family keep both men from finding out if they have a future? In Baxter by Stormy Glenn and Bellann Summer, we find out if another battle bunny finds their happily ever after. I liked Baxter. He loves his family but he isn’t too sure they appreciate what he brings to the table. He is attracted to Dominic and Dominic is sure they are mates but Baxter’s family is making life difficult. Do they not want him to be happy, even if it is for a short while? I adored Dominic. He fought for the mate he knew was his. He appreciated Baxter and was unwilling to allow him to be mistreated, even if it was by family. He appreciated and loved the man fated to be his and would do whatever was necessary to convince Baxter’s family of his devotion. I thought this story was well written and the characters were fully developed. The sense of family felt real and the journey believable. I am thoroughly enjoying this series of unlikely heroes by Ms. Glenn and Ms. Summer. Five Shooting Stars
whatever issues I may have had with the first one didn't impair my reading of #2.
I kind of expected this to follow the same pattern as Bailey but not quite. I didn't understand the whole cutting body parts and some of the issue over it. I guess I just didn't understand WHY he had to go through this ancient law instead of Clay backing out after seeing how serious he was.
And then, Sal's mate enters the picture.. but he's not a bunny so how likely we going to get his story? Plus setup for the next bunny and the Prince.
A typical story by this author. It is fairly "fluffy". I don't think this one of the better ones though. I felt the whole plot was a bit...problematic. I could see it being an issue but the author blows it up more than what I felt it should have been. I didn't see WHY the whole of the ritual was performed. It made no sense that Clay would allow it to go that far. Also why, after all of that, Baxter wasn't PISSED at Clay I have no idea. Baxter says he will be but I never see it. To me this seemed a big problem with the story and really turned me off the story.
Baxter and Dominic one bunny and or Alpha Wolf. When Dominic first meets his mate, a problem is apparent. Dom has no scent, so how is a bunny to know if they are mates? After .ugh hardship and fights they finally mate.
I love this series, I have read it 3-4 times and will read it more I am sure. With a strong story and fate on there side they are bound for greatness
I can almost guarentee that if Stormy wrote it I'll like it A Lot. I have enjoyed her other collaborations and this series is no exception. Baxter is a cutie, and Dom appreciates him. The series is coming together now and most of the brothers are meeting their mates. I'm just going to hang on for the ride! I wonder how many Kits the vampire mansion can hold!!
The unfolding of Sal and then Beaumont's story will be interesting to see. Interesting things about to happen plus Clay and his duck mate another good read that will be.
This is the second in the supernatural series collaboration between Stormy Glenn and Bellann Summer, the wolf Dom has to fight for his right to mate battle bunny Baxter
There are many, many things that bugs me in these kind of stories. But I always compare them to harlequin stories and somehow... I find myself a lot more forgiving for things that would annoy me in other stories. And I can even enjoy myself
