Sebastian Stevens never even dreamt that he could develop such intensely romantic feelings about his best friend. The one person who has seen him through the brightest and darkest moments in his life and brought him safely through the other side time and time again.
But after his recent breakup with his girlfriend and a desperate living situation that's left him bunking in with his best bud and his jock boyfriend, Seb finds himself unnervingly unable to deny the flourishing emotions he’s experiencing towards Devon his beautiful gay best friend.
Torn between his fearful confusion and blossoming lust, Seb finds himself in a tricky situation in more ways than one…
Not only is he falling helplessly in love with his best mate but he’s also discovering feelings for Devon’s jock boyfriend at the same time.
Will Seb be able to hide his hungry feelings towards the two men sharing his flat or will he choose to bite the ball gag and ask his roommates if he can join in with their love?
First off, this should be labelled MMM (not just “MM”)! Secondly, the word choices and grammar are so weird; lots of typos too that wouldn’t have been as distracting if the execution was good. Thirdly, sorry: No. It isn’t hot. As mentioned, the execution was weak; it felt passive and unconvincing, but at the same time so hard-sell; all just attempts at justification and self-explaining more than showing actual feelings and realistic thoughts in the given situation to make the experience realer for the reader. It’s like the author was more focused on convincing audiences that what was happening was valid rather than just telling a good, organic story. Lastly, the characters are so painfully cardboard. Their transition from one end of the spectrum to the other was so sloppily done, like they just needed to get their smut on so the radical change happened instantaneously, randomly, and entirely out of nowhere. I know this is erotica so the plot isn’t the main feature, but as with most tepidly-done erotica, the characters become merely soulless puppets with no substance at all. A necessary vehicle to an end. Which would have been forgivable if the sex was actually great. SPOILER: IT ISN’T. It’s narrated in this hurried, evasive manner (it’s supposed to be narrated by a guy, but it seems he’d rather use every awkward euphemism known to man rather than call a penis or cock what it is – which is totally OOC for males to begin with; males call it like it is and don’t narrate like virginal prudes who will combust if they so much as say a dirty word), it’s almost like this story can’t commit 100% to what it wants to be: hardcore erotica or circumspect soft-core porn for shy conservative YA girls? I am sure this could have been better if only it went through a reliable copy editor or beta-reader first.
***2016 has been a very unstable year. Not only have I lost favourite role models in droves, I have been into dark places more times than I could count. Yes, I experienced highlights as well but the darkness has had a big impact this year and the only way to keep it at bay was reading, mass reading, back to back books with no stopping and no reviewing. I do apologize to all the writers that I won’t be able to review their books yet but I will get to it. Promise!***
