December 29, 2025Surprise at Starlight Mansion
The Holograms are waiting for Jerrica after a long day in the office. Kimber says she’s heard the good news and Shana and Aja congratulate her. Starlight Music has had its best year yet. Jerrica thanks them but says she couldn’t have done it alone and points out some of the groups on Starlight’s roaster.
Back at the mansion, Jerrica suggests they have a celebration dinner on Saturday night. Kimber says she’ll be busy working on a new song. Shana and Aja says they’re busy too. Jerrica is surprised by their lack of enthusiasm. Thankfully Rio pulls up. Surely he’ll be interested. But Rio tells her he might have plans that night but he’ll let her know. He’s brought a box that he says is for Shana and goes into the mansion without another word to Jerrica.
Jerrica is a little hurt and decides to go to Genesis Records to cheer her up. But then into the store come the Misfits. Stormer teases Jerrica about her being there to buy their new album so she can hear what a real rock ground sounds like. Pizza wants to know why they aren’t invited to Rio’s big party. Jerrica is confused and asks what party. Pizzazz says if she doesn’t know about it maybe Rio’s taking Jem instead of her. This is the wrong thing to have said. Jerrica hasn’t told Rio about she and Jem being the same person and she’s started to worry about his feelings for Jem. Pizzaz presses her by asking well but Jerrica just walks out the store. Pizzazz happily tells Roxy and Stormer she thinks she’s touched a nerve.
Jerrica thinks maybe Pizzazz may be right. She’s about to get in her car when she sees Rio across the street talking to an attractive, red-haired, woman that Jerrica’s never seen before. Jerrica watches as Rio takes the woman’s arm and escorts her into his van.
At rehearsal later, Jerrica asks Rio about Saturday but he tells her sorry some other time. But after rehearsal he just tells the Holograms they sound great and tells them he knows they’re tired and sends them home. He doesn’t ask Jem to the party. Jerrica wonders if he’s tired of Jem too.
At the mansion, Jerrica tells the others what the Misfits said. Kimber said if Rio were throwing a party they’d be the first to know about it. Shana says the Misfits are just trying to get under her skin. But Jerrica notices Aja and Kimber give each other a look and she wonders if know something but just aren’t telling her because they don’t want to hurt her.
Aja and Shana leave Saturday to “run some errands”. Kimber stays to work on her music. Jerrica doesn’t want to stay home so she goes to Starlight Music to get some work done. Later on Jerrica goes to a screening for one of the new groups on Starlight. The director asks her out to dinner and says she looks a little down. She turns him down and says she wouldn’t be great company.
When Jerrica gets home, the house looks dark and empty. When she turns on the lights everyone jumps out and congratulates her. All her friends are there, Rio, and the Starlight girls. Rio notices everyone is there but Jem. So, Jerrica makes a hologram of her. Jerrica finds out that the red-haired woman is the cateer. The Misfits even show up to crash the party. As, Jerrica dances with Rio she says everything feels perfect.
My Thoughts:
I think it’s interesting that book Stormer seems to be a lot more “Misfit” than they made her on the show. Also w get the names of some of the Starlight Bands. the "Dream Team", "Hugg", "Pax" and "the Flosz". There are some bands called "Smash" and "Zarp".
