I’m a good girl, but he makes me want to be very, very bad… RAYNA
I want him to take off his mask...he just wants to take off my clothes.
I can’t believe it. The sexy stranger I met at my friend’s masquerade party turned out to be none other than Jace Wilde, the son of my Mom's brand new partner... and I didn’t realize it till after we’d hooked up. It’s shameful, naughty and forbidden, and our parents would kill us if they knew, so there’s no way I’m going to let it happen again.
Ever.
Too bad I can hardly resist him — Jace and I might be stuck living together in chilly England, but as long as he’s around, things are bound to be hot as hell…
JACE
She looks great with that sexy little black mask on…but she’d look better on me...
I’m trying to sort my life out; trying to pull my head in and shed my old bad boy reputation. But when Rayna Silva comes along, that all starts to unravel. Her curvy body tempts me like nothing and no one else, her gorgeous eyes make me want to stray back over to the dark side, and her plump lips make me want to do bad, bad things to her all night long…
I know I can’t have her. I’m all wrong for her, and there’s also the glaring fact that my Dad is with her Mom now. Is that enough to stop me from trying to claim her as my own, though?
Hell no.
***Mask is a steamy standalone romance. No cheating, and a guaranteed happy ending! Bonus book included - Match.***
Caitlin Daire writes about sexy men and the smart, curvy women who love them. She has found her own happily-ever-after ending with her husband and two kids.
3 Stars: It has many redeeming qualities. The characters were likable at best neutral at worst. The writing was much better than expected. I developed an interest that withstood to the end. The plot was nice, somewhat original or had its own unique flair. The writing was good, and the pretense wasn’t half bad, the romance was simmering with few exceptions. The male/female lead showed hints of abuse both verbal and physical, or signs of spot on or forced chemistry. It was a tiny bit predictable. Overall, liked it enough, entertaining.
FAIRY TALES DO COME TRUE AND THIS ONE DOES TOO...WITH A LITTLE BIT OF naughty, a little bit of bad and a little slip of a pair of pink, lace panties, left behind at the ball. Let me just say, once you start reading MASK by Caitlin Daire, you will not put it down until you've finished every last wonderful bit. It starts off with great interest and keeps that interest level ramped up all the way to the fantastic ending. What a greatly enjoyable read. Such fun. New to London, Rayna goes to a costume party with her friend Liana and, of course, meets a masked man. There's instant SIZZLE. Literally (well, almost literally) electricity's sparking between them. Rayna decides that, for once in her life, she's going to "go for it". So, there they are, hot and heavy against a bedroom door (their pull toward each other is so strong, they couldn't even make past the door and to the bed) and she asks him to take his mask off. He rather likes the intrigue of the masks, but when she begs to see his face, before things go any further, he relents. When he removes his mask for her, she gasps, she throws her hands over her mouth, completely stunned, basically says "Gotta go", turns and bolts right out the door. WTF? That's a new one on him. Usually, his face draws them in, never before has it run them off. A chance to be with him - Jace Wilde - is usually a good thing. Not a bad thing. Most women clamor for the chance. So, what's with her? Just what's going on? He doesn't know what she knows. He doesn't know she bolted because she knows he's to be her new s/b, which makes her his new s/s. He hasn't seen her photo, but she's seen his. Besides, he thought his father told him his new s/s was 9 years old - not 19. She doesn't notice she left something behind - yet. But, he does and, it's not a glass slipper. Oh yes, to him it's even better - a pair of pink, delicate, lace panties. Easy to put into his own jacket pocket, he takes them with him. He hopes to be able to use them, on his quest, to find his very own Cinderella. (MY WORDS - NOT THE AUTHOR 'S.) Even though he never saw her face, he'll never forget her stunning eyes. Surely, the electricity that sizzled between them before, will spark once they meet, again. His quest to find the mysterious masked woman doesn't take too long at all, though. As a matter of fact, the very next day, at a luncheon, at his own home to meet his new step-family, where he instantly not only visually recognizes his new s/s's eyes and face (as the tiny, black lace mask really did nothing to hide her features) but he physically feels her again. Their bodies instant reaction to each other is strong. Like their bodies know something they don't, yet. That's that they're a part of each other. They finally give in to what they can't seem to stop from happening. Fighting it is just not working. Separately they're incomplete. Together they not only complete each other, make each other whole but, together they become an unstoppable force. He hides who he really is from everyone. Not his father, or even his friends know the truth about him. No one in the world knows his true yearnings, what he wants, what he wants to do, what he wants to be. But, Rayna sees right through the "mask" he wears. She can see he's not what he projects to be to everyone else. That's part of their connection. She encourages him to be the man he wants to be. Not the man his so-called friends want him to be. Whenever he shows his real persona, his so-called friends, have actually laughed at him. Thinking he couldn't possibly be serious, right? He's just joking about being like that, right? Trying to make her think she's seeing ghosts, trying to kidnap her for ransom and threatening her mother ? Just try it - ain't happening, ain't working - not while they're together. He's not giving up or in and neither is she. They'll make sure everyone responsible, for those things and more, get what's coming to them. Including their selves. They'll finally get what they've got coming...and that's truly a storybook "HAPPILY EVER AFTER". I was definitely, very honored, to have been one of the "chosen" ones who were "gifted" a copy of "MASK", by CAITLIN DAIRE, in exchange for my honest opinion about this FAIRY TALE COME TRUE ! MTULIPK
So it started out as what could have turned into a really amazing thriller story actually, but still erotic, and then about 70% in we changed course. Cue super sappy happy ending. Honestly I would have only given this 3 stars for how it ended, but the first 70% of the book was so good. Wish it had continued on for a while longer.
I don't know why I keep expecting these to be good. It's like bad movie mixed in with serious corny stuff. I mean come on it sounded like High School Musical. "Everyone knows me as the basketball guy." Ridiculous. Would not recommend. On to the next!
I’m impressed with the plot of the story. There’s suspense and drama everywhere but in every character there is an emotional connection with each relationship. I loved it
Mask is funny and an enjoyable read. Its quite fast paced and is full of banter. The book changes between both Rayna and Jace. Being able to see into both their minds and what their thinking is a great change from reading only one point of view.
The story is based around both Rayna and Jaces relationship from strangers, to friends to lovers to friends etc. Rayne mother has meet a man on line. But that means both of them have to move from america to England. Jace and his dad relationship is very rooky. Never getting alone due to his fathers past and what he did to his mother.
Rayne is excited to learn and explore England no the mention meet her online best friend. Rayne is a smart women but also wants to make her mother happy and not ruin it. Being smart but also a pretty women doesnt see how attractive she is. Nor is she very experienced with men.
Jace has a troubled past which he doesn't want to relive. After learning his lesson Jace is happy to start a new leaf. But that comes crashing down when he has to meet his dads new fiance and step daughter. Sexy and cocky but Jace doesn't let any one see the man behind his mask. Their si more then meets the eye with Jace.
The story starts off with a party where both Rayne and Jace meet for the first time. But not all goes to plan when Rayne recognise her soon to be step brother. With the sexuall tension between the both and not to forget the frustration. Rayne and Jace must try and resist the pull or risk losing every think.
With past secretes come to light, old friends wanting some think, a father who shows his true colours. Their is nver a dull moment in Mask.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review *possible spoilers and triggers for some people* this story contains elements of cheating, drug use (personal, drugging someone else, and history of use), and abduction.
Rayna and her Mom move over seas after her mom decides to marry a wealthy business man whom she met on the internet. Rayna (who decides to stay with a friend for awhile) goes to a party and meets a guy. When sparks fly she soon realizes that the guy in question is her soon to be step-brother. After a few close calls they decide to keep things platonic until on disastrous night when all hell breaks loose on all accounts.
I really enjoyed this book. A few spots were predictable but it had a decent flow. The guy wasn't a complete jerk and was actually pretty sweet. He had a bad history that he was trying to overcome and found his salvation in the form of the heroine. I couldnt put the book down. I only gave it a 4 star cause i wish that there was a little more interaction between the time jumps in the book but it didnt take away from the overall story.
Mask is officially one of my favorites from Caitlin Daire! I didn't want to put my kindle down with this story! Any time, I see her name, I KNOW the story's going to be HOOOOT! Mask was no different! Rayna is the Cali transplant living in London now with her mom and new husband. She's hesitant about this new life in England. Jace is the good guy gone bad gone good! He's also her future stepbrother who doesn't know she exists yet. These two unknowingly hook up at a masquerade party and the next day are introduced as stepsiblings. Not wanting to disappoint her mom, they agree to just remain friends. But, with all those repressed feelings and sexual tension that 'friendship' wouldn't last long. Jace and Rayna's story was steamy, passionate, so romantic!! Seriously, Jace was everything you could want in a man and more. I mean that ending SOOO FREAKING ROMANTIC I mean can you SWOON?! His SCUM of a dad almost ruined things, almost. I really enjoyed their story and I was sad to see it end.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review, and I have nothing to say except, it was amazing, I had great time reading this book yesterday. The love story, the dialogue, the characters. It's totally great. Rayna moved from California to London because her mother is marrying a british business man. The story started in a masquerade party in London where Rayna was invited by her friend Liana, she met Jace and they sort of hooked up but when she asked him to remove his mask, she stopped everything, she recognized him, Jace Wilde, her future stepbrother. Despite the sexual tension they decided to stay friends but their friendship turned into love. One Halloween party and one drug addict kidnapper brought them together forever. At the end of Mask, the way he proposed and the wedding was the best part.
I can't leave a good review on this. It was erratic and flat and boring. There was so much talk and no show, and Rayna is outrageously hot and cold, in the oddest moments. At 19%, I couldn't take any more, and then there's a ghost? Just out of nowhere, a ghost?
I'm sure it plays in the plot, but I couldn't do it. I can't bring myself to trudge through any more of it.
Have has a past, I get it, but he doesn't make any realistic sense. He was a drug addict, but he doesn't act like one. He acts too "good," ya know? Too nice.
It may just be because this genre, the stepbrother romance area, is still a bit fresh for me, and it's not something I usually delve into. Once in a while, I'll read a good one. Stephanie Brother writes a few good ones that I enjoyed.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Mask is not your everyday stepbrother romance. Caitlin Dare takes us on a journey to England where Rayna Silva is thrown together with Jace Wilde, both 19, when her mom leaves America behind to become the 4th wife of Jave's dad. Jace and Rayna battle their intense attraction to one another, while Jace is trying to stay drug-free and change his a*sholish ways. Despite his father's philandering ways, with the love of his new family Jace is able to become the man he should. And, once Jace and Rayna finally succumb to their passion and lust, their love grows exponentially. Once you start Mask, you will not want to put it down!
ARC for an honest review Rayna moved to England from America with her mum who is getting married, jase is the son of the man raynas mum is marrying they meet at a masquerade party and once Rayna realises who jase is she runs when they officially meet they both pretend not to be head over in love with other Rayna wants her mum to be happy and jase wants his dad to stay faithful but things don't turn out so good and Rayna is kidnapped from one of jases so called friends and his dad is caught red handed Absolutely loved this book and would recommend to read once you start you will not want to put the book down. another brilliant book by Caitlin Daire.
Rayne is new to London and out with a friend at a masked ball when she meets a man who she is drawn to. While up in a room with the masked man, she asks him to remove the mask and gets a shock The masked man is to be her new stepbrother, Jace, so she leaves. Jace is shocked when the girl he meets does a runner on him, even more shocked the next day when mystery girl turns out to be his soon to be stepsister. The two a drawn to each other, but Rayne can't go through with it because of their parents. When they finally give in it's electric, but that's just the beginning. I loved this book! Rayne and Jace are perfect together. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
He is trying to change his life and be a better person. The attraction to his step-sister is not something he expected or wanted but she is what he needs. Rayna is a young woman that has a strength of character and together they bring out the best in each other.
I read a lot of romances including step-brother stories. I don't personally see it as a forbidden relationship but definitely a complicated one. I liked the characters in this story. Jace is realizing that he needs to make changes and Rayna is there to support him. Their attraction is immediate. You will want to read the whole story in one sitting to see where it all goes.
Rayna has moved to England as her Mom is going to be getting married. Rayna chose to stay with a friend to give her Mom and Gerald space. Her friend Liana takes her to a masquerade party where she is inexplicably drawn to a masked man. Soon we find out it is none other than her soon to be Stepbrother.
Caitlin Daire promised an HEA and no cheating H. What she didn't promise was all the action, to include Jace's Dad destroying another marriage, a mistress, and more! So, so much more.
I'm glad I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review
What a pleasant surprise! Rayna and Jace are my favorite couple so far out of any books I've read. There wasn't a lot of I hate him/her going on which happens in a lot of romances. Rayna and her mom Elena come all the way from California to live in London England so Elena can marry Jace's father Gerald. Jace and Rayna first meet at a masquerade ball, things heat up until Rayna realizes who the guy she is hooked up with will be her soon to be stepbrother. Story goes on from there, but I have to say is the ending made me cry it was so romantic and sweet. Wish men were really like that lol.
"I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review." Such an intriguing book! Mystery, romance, ghost, and all sorts od mayhem! Jace is a working hard to be someone he wasn't but Rayne helps him to see that he has to be true to himself. Rayne was just trying to fit in to a new place that is unknown to her. Together they discover the true meaning of love and devotion. They overcome deceit, lies, kidnapping and in the end they learn to follow the clues to become one with each other.
I really love reading your Stepbrother romance books. I have read several of them and candy wait to see what else I can read. Your books always have twists and turns and make me l
This was a very surprisingly delightful story, so many different scenarios happening. Drugs, kidnapping, ghosts, infidelity, friendship and finally love. Such a great story I just couldn't put it down.
I've read a lot of Caitlin Daire books they are always an enjoyable read. This book is no exception! The characters were likable and I LOVE it when you can read their connection happening. This was probably one of my all time favorite endings ever!
Arc review For honest review. this story was just to cute .when rayna and her mother moved to England for her mother marriage rayna never expected have and his honesty see their story.
Got this as an arc for an honest review. And love this authors books. I really got into Rayna & Jace' story. Loved the sexual tension between these two...great book.
What a great story. I really enjoyed this one. It is a different "step siblings romance" no oversaid of the words of step brother or step sister during an romantic scene.
