Abby Sullivan ran away... and found her soulmate. The only trouble is... he's a wolf.
Desperate to get away from a man who won't stop telling her what to do, Abby Sullivan steals a battered boat and heads out toward what she thinks is the mainland. Instead, she arrives at another island--the home of a gorgeous, mysterious man named Aaron, who seems to be the soulmate she's been looking for all her life.
But Aaron's secrets go deeper than Abby could ever imagine. He's not a recluse, or part of a group of doomsday preppers. He, and every member of his small island community, are werewolves--and the others aren't at all happy about the arrival of a human, someone they're sure could destroy everything they have.
As a general rule of thumb it is not a good idea to write a book in such a way that it can be issued in short episodes - it worked for Charles Dickens but he knew what he was doing. “Lost”, first chunk (a nibble really!) of the 'Shifter Island' series is a fair example of how not to do it. Abby flees a vacation with her domineering boyfriend, takes a small boat and heads for the mainland. She ends up on a sparsely populated island where she finds Aaron. The mating bond kicks in but becoming a permanent couple may not be possible. It's a by-the-numbers instalove tale with a disappointing end:- “... the big man burst through his clothes … And turned into a wolf.” It's may have come as a surprise to Abby but she's the only one. 2 Stars.
A look into the life of were's that still live secluded from the human world with no technology, or creature comforts.
Abby Sullivan runs from a very controlling man into the arms of a man that is nothing like she has ever had.. He is all she has ever wanted, loving, caring, funny and he is not judgemental, or controlling. There is still so much more she has to discover. Could it be worse then what she has known?
Aaron is a werewolf living on an Island far from the human world with his pack, preparing to choose his role in the pack. But when he sees the girl that has washed up on his Island, his world is is thrown for a loop...He doesn't know what the bond is like, but he feels like he has just found it, only problem is his pack will not accept a human. He has to convince them somehow and will Abby accept who he really is?
Abby is trying to get away from her controlling boyfriend so she steals a boat and leaves the island trying to get away. She gets lost and ends up on another island and she meets Aaron, who is living on the island. They are drawn to each other but circumstances may separate them. The other people on the island don't want Abby there and when something happens they are to quick to put the blame on her. This is the first book I have read by this author but it won't be the last. I was given this book as an arc reader in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book as a gift and let me say I absolutely loved it,
what an amazing story, the shifters live a very simple life but they know how humans live Aaron is sent to a cabin off from the settlement for the separation a time to reflect on life and what he wants from life, Abby is running from yet another man who tells her what to do and how to do it, she winds up not back on the mainland but on an island inhabited by shifters ( but she does not know this) I have to warn you it does end in a cliffhanger but will make you HAVE to get the next book in this series!!!
They have kept to themselves and kept their island a secret. But one woman might change it or become part of the secret.
Abby only wanted to get away from another man who tried to control her. But she landed on an island that has its own secrets. Aaron must keep his secrets but how to do that and claim Abby has his mate.
