Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, and has spent most of her adult life working in publishing. She is the author of eleven previous novels. The Kill Fee is the fifth in the Sally Harrington series, although some of the characters - most notably the group at DBS News - are in her earlier novels Riverside Drive, West End, Any Given Moment and Talk.
Laura divides her time between Manhattan and Meriden, Connecticut.

Book good, Kindle formatting needs work
I've read this book three times now, over several years. The first two times were a print edition, which were great and got me invested enough to purchase a Kindle copy when I downsized my library. The story remains as good as I remember it, but the transfer to kindle was not kind. Lots of formatting errors made the read a bit choppy at times and also added some odd spelling errors that were not present in the print edition. Things like words ending in "rn" became "m's" so "burn" became "bum" and the opposite, "um" became "ur." So that caught my attention enough to actually detract from the story at a few points as I had to backtrack to make sense of the odd mistakes. I think someone reading this version for the first time may think it a poorly edited book in some places, which is not true to the original. Overall, I recommend the book but think someone from kindle should really look into getting the formatting issue fixed.

Reasonable romantic suspense about a talk show host who is stalked & then kidnapped. Nothing to get over-excited about, (very similar to something else I've read over the past year but can't recall what that was!) not very taxing on the brain but entertaining enough. Haven't really anything else to say about it....

May 21, 2015La proie du Tueur est un roman sans grande prétention, remplis de suspense, et qui à le mérite d'accrocher le lecteur jusqu'au bout. Pour ma part, j'ai lu les 441 pages en seulement deux après-midi. Il se laisse facilement lire et n'a rien de complexe pour un policier.
L'histoire débute sur Jessica Wright, l'animatrice vedette de la chaîne DBS, qui est poursuivie et harcelée par un maniaque, qui est persuadé de pouvoir finir sa vie avec elle. Elle préfère ignorer cette menace, jusqu'au jour où il s'introduira dans sa chambre, et que dans la même soirée, il abattra Bea, l'assistante de Jessica. Personne ne se doute qui il est, jusqu'où va t-il être capable d'aller. Le lecteur, tenu en haleine, ne peux découvrir lui même le maniaque, tant l'histoire est bien menée.
On regrettera cependant les innombrables noms de stars listés lors des évènements autour de l'animatrice, et que de très nombreuses fois les personnages soient appelés par leur noms et non leurs prénoms, ayant l'effet de s'emmêler les pinceaux pendant notre lecture.
A lire au moins une fois, pour ceux qui aiment le suspense et les romans policiers bien menés !

Entertaining book. Jessica went very quickly from thinking her stalker was charming to being freaked out by him.

Though I guess I can't blame her for that, after all, getting gifts and love notes can be endearing. Knowing where one is vacationing, without that person ever telling you, is freaky. I thought at that point, suspect Will! Though she turned out to be right, so that was okay. :)
