4.5 - "Live dangerously with me." Stars!

Review of Rescuing Her SEAL by Kat Cantrell Only.

Another absolutely outstanding addition to the ASSIGNMENT: Caribbean Nights series for Kat Cantrell. I absolutely loved Fitz and Lilah’s quick, but sweet and sexy story.

Unexpectedly stuck deserted island for the night after their boat runs adrift while participating in a treasure hunt, Fitz and Lilah make use of the time by exploring some of Lilah’s personal fantasies. Normally, painfully shy and introverted Lilah finds the confidence to tell sexy SEAL Fitz, exactly what she wants.

Being stranded on a deserted island with him had been the highlight of her life…

Unfortunately, there private time together comes to a close all too quickly, when rescue arrives, and Fitz and Lilah are left questioning whether one night on a deserted island is enough for them…

"Normal is overrated. I like you the way you are."

Quick and entertaining, I loved Fitz in his one, his confidence and swagger pushed Lilah to step out of her comfort zone, and go for what she wanted.

To be honest the ridiculously cheap price of this box set makes it worth buying for this novella alone, but I have purchased it because the rest of the authors involved aren’t too shabby either!

ARC generously provided by the author, in exchange for the above honest review.

Whilst part of an anthology, this review is for Rescuing Her SEAL, which was generously provided by Kat Cantrell.

For those familiar with Kat's contributions to the ASSIGNMENT: Caribbean Nights series, this is loosely related as the SEAL we're introduced to is Fitz, still in active service and spending some downtime with his buddy, Jack, on Duchess Island between deployments. And he's about to get his fling on with awkward, quiet photographer, Lilah.

description

They were lovely together. Fitz is quickly smitten, as is Lilah, and their journey was sweet, sexy and with feeling. They really do bring out the best in one another.

"Normal is overrated. I like you the way you are, even when you’re being awkward."

Once again Kat hits the spot with a short read which can be read as a standalone, but also leads nicely into Jack and Thora's story which I'm looking forward to reading. I'm also looking forward to seeing what the other authors in this anthology treat their readers to as a few have definitely caught my eye.

Review of Escorting the Assassin--ARC Provided By Author in Exchange for an Honest Review

Escorting the Assassin is the only story I've read from this box set and it's the 4th in the Escorting series by Leigh James.

I'm a big fan of Leigh James's books. They are fun, entertaining and have the best Alpha men! Escorting the Assassin is no exception. I was really intrigued with why an assassin would need an escort. I don't know why I even questioned it. Leigh James always has a unique approach to her stories. It's one of the reason I'm such a huge fan of hers. She can take a story line that has been used time and again and manage to make it her own everytime.

Escorting the Assassin on its own, is well worth the $0.99 for this whole boxed set.

I love anthologies especially when one they contain favourite authors and two are at a low introductory price so it's a win win situation for me ! Romance and adventure are a given when it comes to Anne Marsh, Zoe York and Anna Hackett but discovering new authors too is always a delight. Whilst I've recently been on more of a sci fi and fantasy kick let's face it an alpha male is always fun to read about particularly when faced with a woman who is taking no prisoners . So I am jumping up and down because this set includes the latest Treasure Hunters Security story . With these books I've mentally journied to Egypt, Cambodia and now Peru. It's a straightforward romance in many ways with characters easily accepting the attraction between them but it's the historical and archeological details that enthrall me. I'm constantly finding myself googling places that now I want to visit the land of the Cloud Warriors but alas with so many books I want to read that journey will have to wait.
I was gifted Unexplored but as this is such a good buy will have to purchase it as I've noticed very positive reviews.

This review is for ULTIMATE ENGAGEMENT by Lydia Rowan.
After, is the review for FALL QUIET by Zoe York.

While this particular book was a novella, I loved it a little bit more than Lucian and Cass's book....... And usually I'm a fan of the longer pieces!

This go-around, we have Adam and Sloan, who both work with Lucian at Silver Industries. Sloan is a bright cookie, and while she's been known to make the offices homey and comfortable, she knows there's more to the company than just the public front. She knows she's working with mercenaries. While she may have an office role, she was probably pretty close to the backbone of the company.

When Adam came on and met Sloan, he was thrown by her -- but Sloan, in her nervousness, was a bit cold toward him. Thus beginning a cold, minimal words spoken, relationship between the two. Something that needs to be fixed, obviously, because of the crazy chemistry.

I absolutely adored these two. Their romance was quick, and it was borderline insta-love (although both swore they had feelings prior to them getting together), but it was still cute. I loved Sloan and some of her comical moments (one of my favorite lines she says, and it's nothing extraordinary, was about why she was named for her father). Adam, once he got past his cranky ways because he was smitten with the woman he was going to have to pose as lovers with, was great with Sloan.

Definitely a cute addition to this series; I can't wait to see more of them as we visit the "office" in the future!

It is no secret that I love Zoe York's SEALs, so when I found out she had a new novella coming out, I was super excited! This time around, we have Quinn, a SEAL (go figure) and Leah, a Master Sergeant in the Army... By military law (both by banter between branches, but also true legalities with fraternization) these two should not be together. They meet once... then meet again later. I really enjoyed Quinn and Leah; Quinn was just as strong, yet soft when it mattered, as every other SEAL Zoe York has written, but Leah... Leah has quite the backbone. She's super independent and at the same time, she has a bit of a chip on her shoulder too. Definitely another fun (and sadly, quick) read!

CAPTIVATING, SEXY AND ACTION PACKED !!!
Title: Romancing the Alpha 2
Designation: An Action-Adventure Romance Box Set
Author: Multiple
My Rating: Five Steamy Action Packed Stars*****
Wow! I love it! I adore great action/adventure stories and simply can't live without a daily infusion of romance but put the two together and I'm in heaven! And that's exactly what Anna Hackett, Zoe York, Anne Marsh, Zara Keane, Leigh James, Kat Cantrell, Lyn Brittan, Lydia Rowan and Sadie Haller have delivered with the Romancing the Alpha 2 Box Set. Names sound familiar? Well, they should! They're nine of the most highly recognized and bestselling authors in the action/adventure genre today, and certainly my favorites as well. So when I was asked to read and review this collection of brand new, never before published, standalone novellas, I was all over it! Anyone who has read my reviews in the past probably knows by now just how much I love box sets for a multitude of reasons, the main one being the the value....the bang for the buck and I do mean that singularly. For less than one dollar, 99 pennies to be exact, you can experience heart-stopping danger, heart-pounding drama, spine-tingling action, edge-of-your seat adventure, gut-wrenching angst, steamy passion and dreamy romance! It's an all you can eat buffet of handsome hunky heroes who will melt you panties and steal your heart! And let's not forget the brave beautiful women who risk everything to love them! I found the entire collection to be exciting, thrilling, seductive, beautifully written and well edited with an extraordinary cast of fascinating characters who literally explode from the pages and set your imagination ablaze! There's not a bad story in the entire lot! But if I had to pick a favorite, I'd have to say it's Unexplored by Anna Hackett. She's my fav go-to author when I'm in the mood for a sultry, seductive, action packed romance and this story grabbed me right out of the gate. As a matter of fact, Unexplored is third release in her hot new Treasure Hunter Security Series so if you love action/adventure romance as much as I do, I highly recommend Books One and Two, Undiscovered and Uncharted. And speaking of recommendations, that's another reason I enjoy box sets. It's like receiving recommendations from my favorite writers. It's a great (and of course, economical) way to sample the work of authors I've never had the opportunity to try in the past. It's a win-win! Did I like this collection? No - I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does have some steamy love scenes! Will I read these authors again? Absolutely! Sadie Haller, Anne Marsh and Zoe York have just been added to my favorites list right underneath Anna Hackett's name! And finally, was I entertained? Completely entertained through all 816 pages of suspenseful, sizzling hot goodness!

This is a review for Unexplored by Anna Hackett - 5-Stars

I received a copy of the following book in this box set in exchange for an honest review.

Drew, Sydney’s brother, has been abducted by Silk Road, but it is all a ruse. Drew had been fine and excited a few days ago when Sydney had spoken to him and told her he was on the trail of an ancient pre-Incan culture. Sydney calls on Treasure Hunter Security (THS) for help, knowing they have foiled Silk Road before. Logan is used to people taking one look at him and deciding he is big and dangerous, but not very smart. When Logan looks at Sydney, all he sees is icy perfection, no emotion, no distress, nothing; she is a real cool one, but she isn’t dumb. Sydney has lived her entire life with people looking at her and making assumptions. Logan is intrigued, he wants to know the real Sydney. But Logan has previously been taught a hard lesson; Annika had shown one side of herself, exactly what he had wanted to see, while her other, hidden side, had almost killed him. Logan’s eyes made Sydney think of her father’s favourite scotch; even the eyes of a big lazy lion ready to hunt, and she is drawn to him. Drew is obsessed with the Warriors of the Clouds and is investigating evidence they were advance healers. He believes there is so much more about them that is still unexplored, but Silk Road has heard about Drew’s discovery and is on his trail. Up to now Drew has been able to give Silk Road the slip, leaving cryptic clues for Sydney to follow, but Silk Road is threatening them at every juncture. Drew’s final clue is a video recording, saying he had decoded a Cloud Warriors’ quipu, and what he has found will be the biggest find of the century. But is there something more important than treasure awaiting them! This is a wonderful, well-written story that has lots of twists and turns to keep the reader interested and is certainly a read I would recommend.

Converting a disbeliever

The former SEAL Logan O’Connor is the total opposite of classy sophisticated Sydney Granger who seeks the aid of Treasure Hunter Security in order to find and rescue her kidnapped brother. Sydney is the CEO of a family company and has learned early to school her features so to not give her and her emotions away, Logan is a capable, down-to-earth military expert who has sworn off love due to a former betrayal and is focusing on his dangerous work at digging sites and expeditions. They are thrown together in a run for Sydney’s brother’s life and the discovery of some secrets of an ancient culture. Logan has an instant dislike of Sydney, because she reminds him of the past and Sydney has never met someone like Logan. During the events there will be revealed some secrets that both kept hidden. You will have a lot of action during the race and hunt in Peruvia, as well as a development of the sizzling connection between Logan and Sydney. Treasure Hunter Security is usually not involved in kidnapping cases, but step up when they hear who is behind it, they come with each location of their journey closer to uncovering the big scheme behind the abduction.

Since I am a fan of Anna and her writing, I again liked this book very much. This series is one of my favorites from her so far; the stories are fast paced and placed in ancient locations. You get a bit of history lessons for free. In this book, I had one moment where I thought that the romance is going a bit too fast for my liking, the turning-point too sudden, but it did not lessen the overall impression because the whole story is well developed and you are able to feel connected with the characters in the book, you anticipate, fear and have fun with them.

A clear read recommendation when you are into adventure with an archaeology background and hot romance.

I received this book as an advanced reader’s copy of Unexplored from Anna Hackett in exchange for an honest review.

This is a review of Zara Keane's contribution to this boxed set, titled The Navy Seal's Accidental Wife.

This 30,000-word action-adventure romance novella is part of the ROMANCING THE ALPHA 2 multiauthor action-adventure romance boxed set. I'm a big fan of Zara Keane's Ballybeg characters and this spinoff series Ballybeg Bad Boys is full of sexy alphas and their women that don't take crap from anyone.

In The Navy Seal's Accidental Wife, JD Teller is returning to a wife that he married and then left for an assignment. She's been left alone to deal with being pregnant and unsure about her future. Both of them aren't sure what's going to happen next, except for the fact that Naomi is now nine months pregnant and a baby will be part of their lives any moment.

JD's assignment didn't go well, and the criminal he's trying to apprehend is still at large. When he happens to run into the diamond smuggler at Naomi's place of work, it sets off all sorts of red flags for JD and his attempts to work out things with Naomi are distracted by the criminals he's trying to capture.

I really loved JD in this novella. He's got a good heart and his interactions with Naomi and both sensitive and loving. I've got to give Zara some kudos for giving the reader some very hot loving between JD and 9-month-preggers Naomi. There was definite heat between JD and Naomi.

Things get complicated once JD is called upon to continue his assignment and Naomi inadvertently gets involved in the chase. There are some tense moments here for the couple and that made the end of this novella just fly by in a very good way.

I really liked this story. It's perfectly sized for an afternoon, the pace is very good and will keep you engaged to the end, and it's easy to root for these characters to make a go of it.

For this price, this boxed set is well worth it!

This review is for ULTIMATE ENGAGEMENT by Lydia Rowan. I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy. SO HAPPY!

Adam Reins is the tough, gruff no nonsense Silver Industries mercenary who goes about business without any fuss. Get in, do the job, get out. At least that's what he had planned on doing until Seth threw a certain woman into the mix.
Sloan Wakefield is at home in the Silver Industries office, doing the 'behind the scenes' jobs to help keep the guys jobs in the field easier. She never pictured herself taking part in a mission, although she did picture herself with Adam Reins, many times in her fantasies but she knew Adam had no such thoughts about her.
When Sloan agreed to play the part of Adam's fiancé on a mission, neither of them knew the other was going to struggle with their keeping their desires in check.

Adam and Sloan both try their best to reman professional while on undercover as an engaged couple until Adam finally gives in to his urges to discover that Sloan has those exact same urges. They fall headlong into an intense relationship that is threatened by the criminals they are investigating.

Claire Boston has brought Adam and Sloan's romance to life with passion that leaps off the pages, eliciting those tingly feelings you get when you just want to throw yourself at someone you want more than life itself. The gentle touches, the unmistakable looks, being close to a body that sends your heart racing. How can they maintain their roles and not give into their desires? Of course they can't!

This is another ULTIMATE book I couldn't put down, from one page to the next the story continues to build and Claire delivers again.
LOVE THIS BOOK!! LOVE ADAM AND SLOAN!!

This review is for Ultimate Engagement by Lydia Rowan.

Adam is a former SEAL. He is now employed by Silver Industries, a defense contractor. A company made up of deadly mercenaries, the best of the best, the elite, of which Adam is one.
Sloan harbors a huge crush on Adam. Adam has no clue. She just works in the admin department, while he's off saving the world or whatever it is he does. He never notices anything that has to do with Sloan, not even remotely.....until he does.
Adam needs help on a job and, it seems, Sloan is the only one available. Sloan wants to help, but she sees how much Adam is against it. Are those really his true feelings or could it be something else? She's not an idiot. She has the ability to be an asset to this company and has proven it over the years. Maybe, Adam has a reason for keeping his distance from Sloan.
Adam is teasing her with glances and touches and Sloan feels as though she's about to come out of her skin. She wishes that what he was portraying was real and not part of the job he was tasked to do. She knows what she is feeling is real, but she's used to keeping that under wraps.
Could that be what Adam has been doing? Could he feel the same about her as she does him? Wishful thinking? Maybe? Also, what's with the possessive vibe coming from him?
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK !
GREAT STORYLINE ! I have been looking for a great series just like this one !
THIS WAS A QUICK READ AND IT WAS VERY ENGAGING !
I LOVED ADAM AND SLOAN ! THEIR CHEMISTRY WAS OFF THE CHARTS ! ! !

I'm a huge fan of box sets. Often you get to read a book by one (or more) of your favorite authors and you get to meet a lot of new authors.

Fall Quiet by Zoe York was a quick, dirty, fun read. Quinn meets Leah at a bar one night and he's interested but because they're both military she's not willing to pursue anything. The next day they have a run-on that's work related. The chemistry is brewing but neither will act on it. A few months pass and both of them find themselves on a tropical island. He's still trying for her but she pushes him away, at least at first. Leah realizes that she's on vacation and wants to have some fun with the man who's been occupying her dreams. Quinn continues to push and lets her know he's game if she is. She lets it slip that she's been asking about him and found out that they're not in to the same things. Quinn realizes that she's into the BDSM lifestyle and wants to get to know her more. This is seriously hot! Will Leah cave and go for it? Will their kinks mesh? Read to find out.

Ultimate Engagement by Lydia Rowan was also hot! Adam works for a security company and is tasked with doing some research on a target. Unfortunately, in order to find out more information, he needs to go to a couples resort. Now, he needs a woman to accompany him. Enter, Sloan, the company's assistant. She's excited to go as she's been lusting for Adam forever, except she can't seem to face him or talk to him. Little does she know but Adam has been lusting for her as well. Fake engagement, exotic location and some danger all mixed in one. A great read and an author I will definitely be reading more from.

Check out this action packed set!

Note: I am only leaving a review for Unexplored by Anna Hackett. I received a free copy of that story for review purposes.
In Unexplored, Sydney Granger hires Treasure Hunter Security to save her brother (who’s exploring Peru) from criminal looter syndicate Silk Road. One of the security men, Logan O’Connor, catches her attention, and the attraction is mutual. While searching for her brother, they get involved with each other to each other despite being from very different backgrounds.
Sydney’s pretty cool, and Logan’s, well, what it says as the title of the box. If you like your heroes action-oriented and large with training and tatts, he’s your man.
If you’ve read Uncharted and Undiscovered, this story isn’t really anything new. It follows similar macho heroes, the same group of greedy villains, and heroines with a bit of pluck. Every so often, two men with guns burst through the door. There’s even the same similar end showdown. I won’t spoil it, but if you’ve read the first two books, I can’t say this book offers anything different. Good adventure brain candy, and if you’re unfamiliar with the author, it’s a great introduction to her work.

REVIEWING - RESCUING HER SEAL by Kat Cantrell

4 1/2 STARS!

It's short, sexy & sweet and a fun read!

Navy SEAL Theodore Fitzhugh needs a break, so he's happy to be meeting up with his former SEAL buddy Jack Hyland in the Caribbean for a week of relaxation, and hopefully fun with some hot babes! Jack has a little excursion planned along with his friend Thora to participate in a little treasure hunt game.

Lilah Houston needs something to stir her out of the rut her photography business has become, and hopes this little vacation with her friend Thora is just the thing to do it!

Fitz and Lilah hit it off quickly despite her awkwardness in talking to people and when left to their own devices, find ways to fill their time!

I received an ARC of both The Navy Seal's Accidental Wife and Fall Quiet in exchange for honest reviews. I did, however, purchase the box set for my Nook.

Fall Quiet by Zoe York is a novella featuring Quinn and Leah. If you've read Fall Dirty, you've already been introduced to Quinn. You don't necessarily have to read Fall Dirty first, but I would! I LOVED Fall Dirty! You get a glimpse of Quinn's sexual kink in Fall Dirty and it's further explored in Fall Quiet. I have to admit that there were terms I didn't know and had to look up to better understand Quinn and Leah's lifestyle.

Quinn first meets Leah in a bar not far off base. He team is using "her" base as their training grounds for the week. Leah likes Quinn, but has a no sleeping with fellow military members policy, so she leaves the bar alone. She then runs into Quinn the next day when his team has overstepped their bounds and has refused food for her trainees. Leah confronts them and gets the trainees their food.

Several months go by....Quinn is on Miralinda for the wedding of a friend when he sees Leah, in a bikini, walking on the beach. He approaches her and they embark on a week of pleasure. Since Leah doesn't believe in commitment, one week with no strings attached is fine by her. The only part I didn't like in the novella was the rushed ending. All of a sudden Quinn was trying to convince Leah to go to rehearsal dinner, to sailing around the world together and spending the rest of their lives together. They hadn't even said they loved each other. All in all, it was very enjoyable with a HEA ending.

The Navy Seal's Accidental Wife by Zara Keane featured JD and Naomi. This novella also fits into a series. I've read a couple of the books in the series, but don't really think you need to read the others to "get" this novella. You will not feel lost when reading this one. JD, former military, works for Trident Securities. His brother in law, Liam, is a fellow co-worker. While at Liam's wedding, JD meets Naomi. Naomi later finds out she's pregnant from the one night stand she had the night she met JD at the wedding. JD tries to do right by Naomi and they get married in a quickie wedding in Vegas. The day after they wed, JD takes an assignment that was only supposed to last a few weeks. He ended up going deep undercover for 6mths where he had no contact with Naomi.

Frustrated and angry, Naomi takes a job as a designer in France--where JD has just ended his assignment. Liam informs JD that Naomi has moved to France and is right around the corner from his current location. So JD goes in search for Naomi. As he walks into the jewelry store, JD is stunned to find the diamond smuggler that JD was after and who got away talking to Naomi. JD sends intel to Liam to confirm the smuggler's identity...

Naomi wants to give her marriage a chance, but feels like she doesn't even "know" who JD is. JD regrets missing all the prenatal appointments and starting off his marriage going undercover for 6mths. He and Naomi spend the week getting to know each other and working together on his case.

The ending was EXCELLENT! I don't want to ruin the ending, but I highly recommend this novella. It was well written and flowed well. There were many twists and turns that kept me guessing. I liked the action, but loved the ending! It is a HEA with a cute baby born at the end.

WHAT YOU’LL FIND IN THIS ADVENTURE; a cast of remarkably impressive and engaging characters, intriguing storyline, picturesque and dynamic vivid scene descriptions, clever banter, camaraderie, a shocking find, gut-wrenching moments, spine-chilling action, gripping suspense, horrific danger, life-threatening incidents, intoxicating jaw-dropping sensual romance, and a fabulous conclusion leaving you wanting more.

The untimely demise of Sydney Granger’s father leaves her as CEO of Granger Industries not really the job she has craved for. Her brother Drew a true genius, distressed over the loss of his father went off to Peru to research the lost culture of The Cloud Warriors {Chachapoya} and their treasures. Receiving a phone call demanding she come to LIMA or her brother will die at the hands of Silk Road she reaches out to Treasure Hunt Security. Logan finds Sydney beautiful but does not trust any woman after the betrayal of another beauty that almost got him and his Navy Seal team killed. Sydney hides her previous job from the THS team feeling it was unimportant to their search. When Logan finds out the truth about her he again feels betrayed not believing her reasons for privacy. While searching for her brother and Silk Road hot on their trail the unlikely romance between Logan and Sydney begins to flourish.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS; FASCINATING fast paced and fabulously written read by a truly gifted author. I so enjoy these Treasure Hunt Security stories and appreciate the research that goes into writing them. The plot keeps you intrigued with thrilling action, witty dialogue, and breathtaking scene descriptions till its conclusion. Sydney’s lion-hearted persona is certainly a surprise as she is a force to reckoned with; seeing the tough alpha Logan melt for Sydney was a delight and the unlikely couple makes a perfect match. This was a most exhilarating read and I do crave more. If you treasure wild adventures this is certainly a fantastic set for your library. {I was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review}. In the world of fantasy romance, the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations, I recommend this set.

This review is for Escorting The Assassin by Leigh James and Fall Quiet by Zoe York
Fall Quiet / Zoe York ;
I can not get enough about Zoe York's SEAL Undone Series , she never disappoints . Finally Quinn get's his story here .We got to know him already in a previous one Fall Dirty .This is a fast paced and very steamy read with some very hot scenes ;Quin and Leah are such fascinating and lovable characters and it was so exciting and hot watching their story unfold . Hope to read more about these two in the future. That's why I 'm so ready for the next Fall book in these awesome Seal Undone Series .

Escorting The Assassin / Leigh James ; I was gifted a copy by the author .

I just LOVE Leigh James' writing and so far adored all her Escorting series . Each time I 'm thinking ; this is my favorite until I 'm reading the next , so this one is no different .
Kylie , a waitress needs money badly for her sick mom. So one morning she's called by the escort agency ,where also her sister is working ,they're offering an assignment ( 20.000 dollar) for a week with a complete stranger , who happens to be Sean ,the nephew of Elena, boss of the agency , he's a professional ,mainly concerned with " safety", work for a private government group .
Kylie and Sean are supposed to be posing as a rich couple wanting to start exporting heroin to their friends and neighbors in a wealthy suburb but not before meeting some unsavoring characters.
Not wanting to give too much away I can say this story is a short and fast paced read ,well written with an awesome storyline and is funny and sexy at the same time.. Though I was expecting a not so abrupt ending to such lovely story ,but probably that's because it was such a short read .
Wish I could already have the next Escorting The Groom in my hands !!!!!!
As for the other authors on this collection , they 're new to me , but all of them are very talented so it's very action packed, hot and well worth the read !

This review is for Unexplored by Anna Hackett.
Wow! I know I keep saying it, but this is the best one yet. And that's hard to believe when previous book are so good to begin with. Somehow it happens, though. The books in the Treasure Hunter Security series can easily standalone, the couple's have their own unique stories and their own HEAs.
In Unexplored, former SEAL Logan O'Connor, known to his THS teammates as Mr. Grouchypants because of his incessant complaining, is just back from a mission when he's told a new client is coming in. When he spots her on security monitors as she parks next to his truck, he immediately thinks 'trouble'. He was burned before by a beautiful, traitorous woman who nearly got him and his SEAL teammates killed. He won't let himself be fooled by a pretty face ever again.
Sydney Granger became CEO of Granger Industries two months earlier when her father died, leaving controlling interest of the company to her. She has been struggling with the transition from her former job and her fear of failing her father. Then she gets a call from someone claiming to be with the Silk Road who says he has her brother, Drew, and that she will need to come to Peru and arrange for 5 million dollars in ransom to get him back. Sydney does a search on Silk Road, learns they deal in black market antiquities, and determines she is in over her head. But she also finds a reference to Treasure Hunter Security, a group that has gone up against Silk Road twice recently, and come out on top. She catches a plane to Denver to hire them to help her bring her brother home. And there she sees the big guy from their website on the internet. And just what is his problem?
Copy received in return for an honest review and I've purchased a copy of the anthology. I can't wait to read the rest.

Unexplored by Anna Hackett

OMG McGrumpypants falls in love!! I love this new series and seeing these rough and ready men and women fall in love. Think Indiana Jones meets Romancing the stone - action/adventure with a slice of hot romance and snarky humour. The camaraderie between the team is very believable and I love the fast pace. Logan is alpha male to the core but hides a soft(ish) centre (well hidden by all that grump!!! Sydney has aced the whole icy CEO persona to cover the fact that she doesn't even want the job but feels obligated to carry on the family business.

Sid's brother really turns a corner from the perceived naive, nerdy history buff to grapple with the Silk Road in his own nerdy way. A great way to learn some history whilst you float along in the adventure thrills and spills. These books just get better and better!!

The Protector of Ambra

Melody and Pierce's foray into the Jungle in search of Chocolate Fraudsters and Olmec Pottery! Pierce is a Doctor but also a man of action. Melody is a chocolatier with a penchant for Fair Trade. Mix together an illicit side trip from HQ with a misguided, naive attempt to track down a shady supplier and its a rollicking good tale!! Pierce may have been privileged but he wants to get his hands dirty! Meldoy was just so helplessly out of her depths, she was a total jink to herself!!!

Ultimate Engagement by Lydia Rowan

Adam and Sloan work at Silver Industries. Sloan may be the office monkey but she is the glue that holds the team together. But when she met Adam she was so nervous she came across as a bit of an ice maiden so he has treated her with a lot of disdain since then. He hates that she gets under his skin!

I dare you not to love Sloan during her dorky moments! Adam was adorably put out when he had to go undercover with the infuriating woman he secretly hankered after!!

Boxed sets offer a variety of authors and writing styles and are a great way to find someone new to follow. Enjoy! There's something for everyone. Now, a review of one of my favorites:
"Unexplored" by Anna Hackett
"If dreams were wishes and wishes came true..."
...I believe Logan would be tops on my wish list!
CEO Sydney Granger hired Treasure Hunter Security to rescue her brother from kidnappers. Silk Road wants $5,000,000 in ransom money. Logan O'Connor, haunted by a previous betrayal, doesn't trust women, especially when they're hiding something. Sydney is definitely hiding something! Logan is a big, untamable force of nature. Sydney is a slim sophisticate who doesn't look as if she's done a lick of work. SO out of Logan's league! But the attraction is there.
In seeking clues to find where her brother might be, Sydney and the Treasure Hunter Security crew run into all kinds of danger. Where is her brother? As with any treasure hunt, finding clues and interpreting them correctly is the way to succeed. There are many edge-of-your-seat thrills as they make their way toward the Warriors of the Clouds.
And I love the single-minded focus of a big man who has fallen hard!

Anna Hackett takes this adventure to a satisfying conclusion with unexpected twists and turns along the way. The attention to detail in researching the Peruvian Andes is readily apparent [this started a side adventure to learn more, myself] and greatly appreciated. This is not to be missed!

Wow! Zara Keane introduced me to this set by inviting me to the release party. What an incredible set of stories from gifted writers. The men of the selections are hot, sexy & ripped, total Alpha males. The women were no push overs though. They were called into action to help get their men & themselves out of jams. There was plenty of romance, sex, action & danger.

The Navy Seal's Accidental Wife - JD is a former Navy Seal that had a one night stand with a woman. It sounds typical because she became pregnant & he married her. However, he did have feeling for her, not just responsibility for their situation. However, right after they were married, he went undercover on an op near France & ended up being gone for months. Naomi became impatient with waiting & receiving no word from him. She accepted a job & went to France to work. JD's op blows up in his face & he goes looking for Naomi. Imagine his surprise when he goes to see her & ask for a second chance when he spots his target holding her hands! Zara has managed to fill this novella full of adventure & romance. She manages to hook you right away with JD finding out where his missing wife was & seeing his target with her. Then she leads you through twists & turns with JD & Naomi learning to trust each other again & ends with a master criminal that I never saw coming.

I've read several of the other novellas & you won't be disappointed with any of them. This is truly a set worth every penny!

ESCORTING THE ASSASSIN - Leigh James
A great addition to her ESCORTING series. Sean is sexy, tough and kills the bad guys. Kylie is gorgeous, sweet, and an Escort. To provide for her sick mother, Kylie becomes an Escort. Her very first client? The boss' nephew. Sean doesn't agree with his boss about using a civilian to help catch a Russian Drug Lord. His aunt's employee maybe sexy, but she talks way too much........this will never work. But, after days of being locked in a bedroom together, he finds ways to keep her mouth too busy to talk :) This is a good short read.

FALL QUIET - Zoe York
Quinn is a Navy Seal, loves to have sex, any kind of sex......need I say more? Leah is an Army Master Sergeant, loves kink and being a Top......need I say more? Leah keeps Quinn horny and hard as a rock with her sexy erotic mouth. Together, Quinn and Leah learn it’s okay to be the Bottom sometimes. I love that Zoe made Leah a Top, and how Quinn gave over control to Leah, This is one wet and sexy read :)

HER WILD DOM - Sadie Haller
This is a spanking good read ;) Ms. Haller’s books with BDSM are always so damn hot and sexy. If you want to read a panty melter, read Sean and Julia’s story. What does a wooden spoon, a silicone spatula and clothes pins have in common…………extreme pleasure of course. 
