The burned man turned towards his burned friend on the other trolley. He put his hand onto his friend's hand. "J...a...k...e!" But that was his last word. He died, with his hand in the hand of his friend. "Can you hear me? Jake, did you say?" The nurse lifted the dead man's hand away from his friend's and laid it across his chest.

this was like the first book in English I read as a kid, I remember not understanding most of what's going but the plot twist. Just that alone makes me remember it somewhat fondly

I'm giving this book 2 stars just because I think the main idea is great but there's no actual conclusion or solving of the main question: What happened with LUKE???? Or what is going to happen with the characters? But to make things worse it has an OPEN ENDING, don't get me wrong, I love a nice and well-defined open ending but this one was just RIDICULOUS. I'm still debating whether I should put one star...
