Can LDS church members (Mormons) handle the truth of how bad untreated mental illness can get - even to the church's missionaries? An LDS-market publisher told Author Andy Hogan, "Your story of 2 manic psychosis breakdowns may be true, but LDS church members can't handle it." Andy strongly disagrees. He believes that all people, not just church members, need to know and learn from his experience--that has a happy ending. Here is the book. You can handle the truth.
Thought this was an excellent piece of reading for understanding about bipolar disease. Appreciated his insertion of other people's observations of him throughout the text (e.g. he asked friends to recount what they experienced of him at certain moments).
Very worthwhile read for anyone wanting to learn more about what someone is going through during a manic state.
