This series has won the highest rating both as comic and as anime. The protagonist aspires to be the greatest ninja among a village full of shinobi warrior-magicians. But he must first earn the respect of his peers and teachers while maintaining his integrity. In Japanese. Distributed by Tsai Fong Books, Inc.
The pathos always floors me, and the fight was damn awesome, too. But again, I thought the anime does it more justice. What I ought to do is just try to find those individual episodes and play them just for this reread.
That way, I can revel in the visual explosions and wallow in my delicious angst.
I didn't care about this arc's big fight in the anime, didn't care about it now either. Good riddance to Sasuke. Naruto's pure feelings, Shikamaru's character growth, and the overall wholesomeness of having everybody safe and sound back in Konoha is what really made this volume great.
Inconclusive (to be expected of this manga, which took the meaning of "neverending story" quite literally :P) but surprisingly fun. Even the battle was quite good, which in Naruto seems rather the exception than the rule. Poor Naruto, judging all around him by his own measure. He gives his all, and that's the main merit of this manga for me. I guess I'm an incorrigible fan of Goku-like characters ;)
I actually would like to be rid of Sasuke, though, however tragic his backstory is. I mean, the emo prince of Konha should finally wake up to reality and get into his thick head that not everything is about him. But - shonen. Moody teenagers. "The world doesn't understand me" is a mantra that Kishimoto seems bent on repeating ad nauseam through the character of Sasuke.
Ah, well. Looks like I'm reading this manga only for Naruto and his nine-tailed fox ;) I know of worse reasons, so - go, Naruto!
OMG! was my first reaction to this book, I couldn’t believe how Saskue let himself become so obsessed to get revenge and so consumed anger. It was surprising that he would try to kill his closet friend, leave his home, and risk just about anything just to get revenge. Naruto goes after Saskue to try to get him to go back konoha. After trying to persuade him by talking doesn’t work naruto tries to use force, and Naruto and Saskue end up fighting. Unlike last time no one can interfere and come between them so they both use all there strength against each other (Saskue uses the new power Orochimaru gave him, the curse mark, the sharingan and his best jutsu the chidori.)(while Naruto uses a lot of the power from the nine tail fox and his best jutsu the rasengan)
The mission to retrieve Sasuke was a failure, but a good experience nonetheless! Shikamaru and Naruto are depressed as hell right now because of their failure. They'll definitely come back stronger than ever, that I've no doubt about! Why didn't that Akatsuki guy kidnapped Naruto right there and then? What changed? Man, I hate being kept in the dark! 😒

It was at this moment i realised that I'm madly in love with Naruto and obsessed with it to the point of no return. The battle at "valley of the end" is one of my favourites scenes and not a week goes by without me thinning about it. It was amazing as we got to see Naruto and Sasuke finally come to blows after such a long awaited time. Totally worthit but it came with a huge risk. Any way on to the next issue.
One of the most anticipated duels in the franchise has finally arrived and it is undoubtedly one of the most touching and wild battles so far.
This is a battle of revelations, of determination and of ambition. Two individuals who don't see things the same way have grown to care for each other in different ways but their driving force in life splits them apart.
Drawing upon their inner acquired powers and coupled with their passion and energy, they go head to head to prove which of revenge or friendship wins in this war.
naroto was so dumb that he yells aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ya
It's hard to watch Sasuke take the path of revenge and leave the Leaf village to join Orochimaru in search of the power to take down his older brother, Itachi. The only hope I take from this battle is that Sasuke ultimately refused to follow in Itachi's footsteps and kill Naruto in order to obtain the power of the Mangekyo Sharingan. They now have three years to save Sasuke before Orochimaru takes over his body. Good luck, Naruto.
I remember watching Naruto back in 2001 or 2002 when I was like 12 or 13. I watched little past this but dropped the title. So here I am trying 20 years later to finish this series but before jumping to the time skip when Naruto and Co are older let's finish up the final part. Sasuke vs Naruto.
In this volume you have two friends who want two very different things. Sasuke wants to kill his brother but he needs the power to do that, and to get that power, he has to kill his best friend. On flipside Naruto wants Sasuke dumbass to come back home because he loves him like a brother. This leads to a fight to the death.
Overall, this fight is fast paced and pretty brutal. Most of the time Naruto or Sasuke is getting washed depending on who's using a power up. The bitter ending is refreshing in Shonen series and leaves the message of loss to the reader to take in.
While the fight is fun it's not as exciting as I remember. Maybe because I watched in animated but it felt like one character just kept powering up instead of displaying actual fighting skills like they did earlier in the series. I'm worried the second half of naruto will be all that but we'll see.
- Kakashi knows about Sasuke and trying to find them. - Still Naruto vs Sasuke. - Naruto with Kyuubi chakra cloaked vs Sasuke Cursed Seal Level 2. - Their final Rasengan vs Chidori clashed. - Naruto lose the battle and Sasuke fled off to Orochimaru. - Sasuke leaves his momento; a damaged head protector. - Kakashi arrives at the scene and bring Naruto home. - The whole Shikamaru team was saved by the medical ninja. - The injured were received medical attention. - The mission to bring Sasuke back is a failure.
This one HURT your honor. The boys fighting, Sasuke leaving, and Kakashi coming too late to save them both UGH this was a painful volume. I think it's made me an sns girlie though? Taylor wrote cardigan for them for sure. I'm honestly so relieved everyone's okay, it was genuinely worrying since I'm unfamiliar with where the plot's going. This one is probably my favorite volume of part one. The next volume is the last of Part One so I think I'll take a little break before I start part two but I'm not sure yet. I missed Sakura this arc but the boys and Tsunade more than made up for it.
vol. 25 & 26 are genuinely the best manga volumes i have read in my life, idgaf if i'm being biased. nothing will ever compare to that wordless sequence after the rasengan and chidori crash. them fading away as rivals, reuniting for a second as friends, only for sasuke to be standing over naruto's body, calling out to him one last time. i'm insane.
Combat. Between Naruto and Sasuke. But not non-stop. There is conversation. There is reminiscing. So, it is a bit more interesting. And does move the plot along if only slightly. Art is good as always, text is fine. This volume was a pretty quick read.
