The fourth PONY CLUB SECRETS adventure by bestselling author of THE PRINCESS AND THE FOAL.
Issie has landed her dream job – handling horses on a real film set! And with a group of frisky palominos to deal with, Issie asks her friends at pony club to help out too.
But it’s not just the horses who play up on set – what is spoilt actress Angelique’s problem? Could this be Issie’s chance for stardom?
Join talented young rider, Issie, on another action-packed adventure in the Pony Club Secrets series.
As a young girl living in New Zealand Stacy Gregg wanted to be two things when she grew up – a horse rider and a writer. She now considers herself very, very lucky to be both at once!
Becoming a writer was the easy part – all she needed was an exercise book and a pen. Stacy wrote loads of poetry and short stories at school and then became a journalist, writing features for magazines and newspapers and working as a fashion writer (v. glamorous and lots of fun!) before her first book in the Pony Club Secrets series was published in 2007.
This is a really good book that I really enjoyed, and I would definitely recommend this, especially to people who like animals! My favourite part was probably when issie and stardust made a proper bond, and then managed to star (issie as the stunt rider and stardust as the princess pony) in a movie. I loved this movie and hope you do too!
This book was slow in parts but clear and I loved seeing the characters in the glitz and glam of a movie set. The addition of Natasha and how Aidan slotted into this was exciting too although I did find everything a bit predictable. Without spoiling anything though, I loved Mystic’s appearance in this story and also the journey that Issie goes on with Stardust is very heartwarming and believable.
This is the fourth book in the “Pony club secrets” series. There is a total of 12 books in the series, 13 if you count the novella. With showjumping contests to win, rivals to defeat, mysteries to solve and ponies in danger to save, these books are perfect for all girls who love ponies. Issie has just got the dream summer job. She gets to help her aunt on a new film that’s coming up. Her aunt trains animals, especially horses for films. When Issie gets the job, she invites her best friends Kate and Coco to join her in the training of the horses. They have to train a group of energetic palominos for the film, on a tight deadline. The star of the movie, Angelique has a secret that she tries to keep. Every time Angelique's on set, something dangerous happens and Issie starts to get suspicious of what’s happening. As Angelique’s behaviour gets worse and more spoilt, Issie gets a chance at the fame that most kids dream for. Issie starts training Stardust, a troublesome palomino mare that doesn’t seem to want to listen to anything Issie says. When Issie starts to get through to Stardust, they start to bond, and Issie finally manages to train stardust. Angelique continues to hide her secret her behaviour gets more defensive, and things continue to get worse. As things get more dangerous, Issie starts to investigate what Angelique’s secret. When Issie finds out her secret it shocks her to her core. I would give this book 5 stars because it constantly kept readers on the edge of their seats. It was so good even though it is more character driven rather than plot driven. I would recommend this to anyone aged 8 or over and it’s great to read alone or as a family but there are some emotional parts.
With more characterisation than the rest of the series, Stardust and the Daredevil Ponies shines a better light on the individuals characters within this world. However, it once again falls into territory of more mature themes (one character deliberately putting a child in a dangerous situation with a horse) whilst keeping itself overly sweet in its wrap up of its typical formula. The series has begun to feel the strain of attempting to simultaneously be a friendly horse book with cartoonish villians for children and a more mature story including slightly more adult themes of career/personal/parental expectations and the dangers that come with equestrianism.
I think these books are fully responsible for shaping half of my personality because my secret desire is to be a stunt rider and I think that came from this book.
enjoyable, but avoid if you don't like predictability. This book is actually kinda good, however, what stops me rating it 5 stars is the fact I could already predict what the spoilt movie star, Angelique's, big secret was:
*SPOILERS! Warning! SPOILERS!* it was quite plain to see that Angelique couldn't ride a horse at all. Why else would she always avoid anything horsey? *End of Spoilers*
but yes, I kept reading on not because of predictability, but because I wanted to see how it would end. And the end is NOT predictable.
I really liked the book. It's a bit slow in the beginning and middle but speeds up towards the end. It's quite interesting when Mistic comes and saves Blaze and also Angeles Atoms. The way Stacy Gregg uses words is so good. I can see clear images in my mind in the intense parts and also in the more common parts as well.
I would recommend this book to someone who loves horses and mysteries.
Some bits are sad and exciting. I couldn't wait to find out Angelique's secret.
It's about Issie who's job is handling horses on a film set. The star of the movie ,Angelique has a secret who she tries to keep. Every time Angelique's on set ,something dangerous happens.
I'm not really a fan of horse stories but this one was a great book.

It was great. A fun read. I enjoyed how Issie and Stardust make a bond. I was very mad at Eugene and Bob, especially when they whacked Stardust after Issie trained him not to be scared. Ngl, I ship Issie and Aidan. Excited for the next book. I hope you enjoyed this review :)

A book even stupider than when Saddle Club did the same plot. The fact that I am in a position to make this comparison is why I should never have connected Goodreads to Facebook.
i loved this book i think it was a great read and i cant wait to read the rest of them! This book is truly amazing and had me hanging onto every single word all the way.
