A town full of tradition and history.

I absolutely loved the characters in the first three books. The author made a town full of characters any reader could relate to and feel lost in their stories. Rachel and Brady had a history of lost chances until after both becoming judges. Then there is Hannah and Kyle who have so many obstacles in their relationship, it will have you in tears. Bo and Lila are another story altogether. Who would have thought neighbors using one another could lead to any relationship. The secrets any of them keep could destroy their reputations and worse any chance for love. The series had me enthralled, crying, laughing, and satisfied. I cannot wait to read more about this town and the people in it.

Secret Blend: Rachel Richard’s and Brady Craft have known each other since their school days. The thing is he was dating her best friend in high school but at one point he ate lunch with her everyday until she got wary. They both went to law school where they met up again but Brady seemed to be wary of her so they kept their distance. They meet up again when they both clerk for a Judge in the capital. When Brady has to leave his internship early to take care of his Aunt back home he never expected to see Rachel again. But she popped up back home in Bourbon Springs, Kentucky as a defense lawyer whereas he was serving as a prosecutor. When she was offered a judgeship before him he took it out on her in court one day and she made him pay for it by giving him a contempt charge. They seemed like an unlikely pair but things get interesting when his aunt runs over her mailbox and things take off from there. The only thing is they keep it a secret for too long and the wrong person finds out and berates Rachel about it which almost cost them their relationship. In the end everyone walks away happy or do they?

Secret Sauce: This short which is part of the Bourbon Springs series focuses on Brady and Rachel at the hotel he found her when she disappeared on him. It’s around Christmas time and these two take us on a sexual journey of apoplectic proportions. You get goosebumps from their first encounter until their last and there is also a surprise for Rachel in the end.

Built on Blue: This second book in the Bourbon Springs series curtails around Hannah Davenport and the good sheriff of Bourbon Springs, Kyle Sammons. They’re actually old acquaintances of each other considering they dated while in high school. But there is a secret lingering between the two of them that just happens to involve her brother, Bo and what happened the night they broke up. They manage to find themselves back to each other after Hannah gets a divorce from her cheating husband, Jason. Their love is evident from the start but Kyle holds off in making love to her because he doesn’t want to get hurt again. So when they finally do get to the ultimate pleasure in life things get heady. But things aren’t what they were and Hannah tries working with her brother but things come to a head there too.

Standard Equipment: This short story hovers around Christmas and after Hannah and Kyle have gotten married. It focuses on Hannah and Kyle trying to conceive and a lot of lovemaking in the process. At one point Hannah’s mother, Emma, comes over to have them sample desserts for Christmas dinner in hopes of trying to get Kyle’s cousin, Lila, over to the house for said dinner. She stays and helps them decorate their tree and as she leaves wishes them well in their endeavors in what they are doing and hoping to add to the family either by baby or the relationship between Lila and her son Bo.

Angel’s Share: This third book in the Bourbon Spring series is aimed at Bo Davenport and Lila McNee’s romance and disagreement over land. Lila owns land that Bo wants to expand the family distillery, Old Garnet, on. He claims that the line of their lands is different than what she says it is and since Lila says otherwise Bo decides to sue her for the land. This gets his mother, Emma, and sister, Hannah, involved as well and they tell Bo he is a fool. They tell him in one way or another he will lose the two things that he loves the most the distillery and Lila if he doesn’t come to an arbitration on the land. We watch Lila and Bo’s love story blossom while they are fighting over land and see Bo and Hannah deal with the death of a parent as well.

Most excellent writing. The stories grab you, they hold you and take you along for their ride. I did not find any editing errors, the grammar and continuity were spot on. So far, all these books are obviously hot and very well worth the read.

Book 1: Rachel and Brady. Brady is a jerk, but he gets over that. Rachel doesn't want to get involved, and I understand that. She likes her life and she certainly doesn't need a jerk messing things up.

Bonus short story: Short, and very sweet.

Book 2: Hannah and Kyle. There's a history. You always wonder what you would do if you were Hannah. Kyle is such a sweetie, but he's so afraid to lose her that he holds back.

Book 3: Lila and Bo. We all saw this coming, you knew it was going to happen. Bo, though. Oh, Bo. You just want to SMACK him. I understand where Lila's coming from, she wants to protect those springs. I would, too. The beauty and history must be amazing. The way they're described in detail just puts the picture of them in your head.

The scenery is described very well. I like the little bits of history and Bourbon facts after each book. I was actually telling my husband some of those facts! LOL

I have all of the box sets, and I've already started set #2. I didn't even think of any other books to start reading. I had to know what's going to happen next!!!!

My brand new family lives in Kentucky...the best way to read this series is as a complete volume! I was able to read this first volume earlier this year and couldn't put it down. Fell in love with the men who aren't scared to love and felt the pain of the tragedy when life hits hard. The heroines of these books are hilarious and make everyday drama in a small town seem so manageable. I really enjoyed that they are real stories - lawyers, cops, factory workers, family....

As you meet new characters, you can almost place them with their significant others....I love books that I want to get to the end of so that I can see the love unravel - but the best thing about a series is that you watch the love unravel after the happy ever after...When families unite, fight, lose and experience everyday life...

Good Box Set

Excellent box set. The first book I found to be a bit slow to get in to but about half way it got going. The other books were excellent and you warmed to the characters straight away. They came to life and you really understood them and the careers and jobs they have. Being a family business the way Hannah was pulled into wanting to work there but to have her voice heard and views understood was dealt with as though the author had gone through this herself. I have given a five star rating because it was well deserved and will not hesitate to read anything by this author again. For a free download on Amazon this was a delight to read.

Enjoyable

Enjoyable read, relatable characters and some steamy love scenes. But! There are a lot of errors throughout all 3 books in this box set - wrong words, extra words, missing words. Also found myself skimming over long passages waxing lyrical on the countryside and the much repeated “history”.
Individually I would give the first 2 books a solid 4 star rating - despite the numerous errors - because the actual stories were good but found Bo and Lila’s story way too drawn out and, to be honest, Bo is just an idiot who kept making the same mistake.

Educational and Enticing

The first 3 books in an 8 book collection offer a historical education about the Kentucky bourbon industry while introducing you to a great set of characters intertwined in fictional Bourbon Springs. The couples are believable and the stories engaging. All of the supplemental information about the real bourbon yours in Kentucky have made me add this to my bucket list. Now on to Book 4!

Kentucky is synonymous with famous bourbon labels, and Bourbon Springs is the town with one of most famous, Old Garnet. The box set is love stories that all center around bourbon springs and the Family and friends/frenemies of the distillery owners. The love is not simple, and the hurdles the couples face seem impossible. With a little luck and a lot of bourbon balls, the couples can overcome anything.

3* is the average of the 3 novels included in this bundle. These are actually pretty good for romance novels. They avoid insta-love, have a plot, and actually include some character development. Which is more than I can say for most of the free romances available for e-readers. Of the three, I liked the first and third best. I found the second couple a little boring.

The covers for this series are horrible, so they prove the old saying.

So I got to about the 8th chapter and I just couldn't. It's not a bad book, really, it's not, it's just a little slow. The chemistry didn't draw me in and I'm sure it's just me. The writing style was fine but didn't wow me. Overall, an ok read, although I'm sure there are many who will disagree.

These three books were a really interesting read. The backgrounds for each romance take place in Kentucky, between people involved in politics and the production of bourbon, instead of the usual beaches and cities presented in most romance stories. I thought it presented a refreshing outlook to the story lines. The author is very knowledgeable on her presentation of characters because she is really involved with the lifestyles her characters portray. Excellent reads!

I really like how each book focuses on one couple while weaving in the lives of the other characters. Good sensuality while also maintaining an actual storyline.

Decent distraction

Read 2.5 of these one night I couldn't sleep and the last half a book the next evening. On the steamy side but character driven. Decent levels of conflict in the relationships.

I enjoyed reading all three stories, the short story, and informative notes between each of them. The characters did not conform to "normal" portrayals in romance novels...but they surely were exciting! Definitely worth reading.

Three connected books with convoluted romances, some are second chance, some are meant to be.

All can be read alone or together, you get more interesting historical info with every story about the history of the making of bourbon whiskey.

Smooth....

Well written with much foresight. Very informative about the history and process of making bourbon. Has even made me consider using bourbon for my next batch of homemade vanilla extract.
