This book was a pretty simple, but informative quick start guide for Jiu-Jitsu. There are some good techniques in here, but the book certainly could have benefitted from some more visuals to go with the descriptions of the self-defense moves. The chapters that explain the mentality and the history of the art was pretty good. Overall, this is a pretty good book to get the feel of things, but I think videos would serve better for technique if you can't practice with a partner or at a dojo. Pictures are super helpful with techniques and for me that's where this intro book suffered.

Quick little history, small amount of technical coverage. Just a note, it focuses on the Japanese Jiu-Jitsu rather than Brazilian Jiujitsu.
