Description: The thesaurus includes over 4,000 entries and 36,000 synonyms. The book also includes over 150 photographs and illustrations. This item is a necessity at home and in the classroom. The abundance of information and affordable price will attract consumers.
Content/scope: The purpose of the book, content and scope are geared towards all students. Colorful illustrations are used so that visual learners have a better understanding of the text. Students and teachers would definitely benefit from the inclusion of this thesaurus in the library media center.
Accuracy/Authority: This thesaurus includes stunning visuals and was published within the last three years. A new version will be released later this year. This book was the 2009 Parents’ Choice Approved Winner.
Arrangement/Presentation: The format for this book is print. Diversity: The thesaurus includes lots of pictures and would be an excellent resource for the English Language Learner in the classroom.

The copy shown was published in 2003, however a new, updated copy was published in 2012.

Accuracy, Authority, Bias: American Heritage is well-known for dictionaries and reliable. Houghton Mifflin has published many educational books, sources, and curriculum. This is a reliable source.

Arrangement and Presentation: It is arranged alphabetically and in a way so that the reader is able to distinguish between words that are synonyms. Entry words are dark purple while other words are in black. Easy to read format.

Relation to Similar Works: Simon & Schuster Thesaurus for Children,

Timelines, Permanence:This is the most updated Thesaurus dated 2012. This resource will not have to be updated for several years.
