Since this book on enneatypes in psychotherapy requires that the readerhave a previous axquaintance with ego-types in ligh of the Enneagram, I have included here an account of the character styles themselves. This book contains nine divisions, each with a similar threefold 1. an introduction to one of the enneatypes, 2. a case report, with commentary, from the literature, 3. a session transcript illustrating enneatype-oriented Gesalt therapy. May this contribution to an ego-style conscious therapy be a ferment in the lives of those who work on themselves , and in the activity of those who help others in this turbulent world, critically in need of transformed individuals.

Claudio Naranjo was a Chilean psychiatrist. He was co-developer of the Enneagram of Personality. His studies and investigations oftenly focused in the search of spirituality to find mental stability, and also some times, the use of lisergic substance to free hidden and harmful thoughts.

An extremely enjoyable book
I find that it has some shortcomings as it didn’t fully explain the type and some types appeared clearer than others in terms of examples, description, and analysis such as E1 while some other type did not receive a large amount of explanation and clarity such as E5

And i think he should focus more on types like E6 and E4 for each subtype since each one contains a really different behavior

However, overall, the book clarified many points that I used to find incomprehensible in his previous books like Character and neurosis and ennea of society
