I’ve enjoyed every book I’ve read by Cheyanne Young, but MOTOCROSS ME really holds a special place in my heart. I’m from Texas, and Mixon reminds me of so many small Texas towns! Add in the motocross drama and the swoon-worthy book boyfriend Ash, and I’m sold.

So I was super-thrilled when I found out about the sequel, SUPERCROSS ME! It doesn’t disappoint. In the beginning, I was shocked to find that Hana and Ash had broken up (no!!). In alternating then/now chapters, we find out how it happened, and see how Hana’s life has changed in the aftermath.

Hana's voice was just as relatable and funny as in the original, and the romance was very believable. I have to wonder though—are there more Mixon stories to come? The book finished in a pretty open-ended way, and I’d love to see what’s next for Hana and Ash (or maybe Shelby and Jake??)

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Loved it! This is a fabulous YA contemporary series and I highly recommend it. (I found out the author had intended to make the first book a standalone and I'm so glad she changed her mind and wrote this sequel!;) I love the YA genre but I generally prefer YA paranormal or fantasy rather than contemporary. This book, however, is a wonderful example of the type of YA contemporary I love. (BTW, It's clean YA just so you know upfront.)

The first book, was great and it did have closure, but when it ended I still just wanted MORE! I loved all of the characters-the wonderful "Motor cross family" and I simply just didn't want it to end. I dove into the sequel eager to get more of Hana and Ash's story and was not disappointed. I pretty much read it straight through.

Hana is a complex character and while I really like her, at times I was very frustrated with her. That being said I also completely empathized with her. She's insecure and sheltered from being home schooled and having been brought up by her dysfunctional mother. She has issues but she's also completely aware of them and tries desperately to overcome them and break out of her comfort zone. It's just easier said than done and takes time. Even though I wanted to scream at her when she did (or didn't do) certain things, I also knew that she was doing the very best she could at the time. Nobody is more critical of Hana than Hana herself and she really struggled in this book. Lets just say insecurity and jealous almost get the better of her and be cause of that she almost sabotages her chance at happiness.

As for Ash, wow, what can I say about him? Ash is amazing and swoony (but NOT in a cliche "cookie cutter YA boyfriend" kind of way.) Basically he's just a really good guy all the way around, and his whole family is wonderful. There is angst and drama in this book that will keep you on edge and routing for, not only Hana and Ash, but both of their families and everyone in their motor cross community.

Before reading the first book I knew virtually nothing of this sport and ordinarily this probably wouldn't have appealed to me. But the author created such a wonderful cast of characters that it immediately drew me in. From Ash's sister, Hana's best friend, to Hana's hilarious little brother, and all the employees at the motor cross park, you will fall in love with this cast of characters. If you're like me, you will even miss them after you finish the book. ;)

I don't want to give specifics or spoilers but if you're looking for a great overall story that you can escape into and fall in love with, I highly recommend this one. If the author ever decides to write another one in this series (*hint *hint) I would read it in a heartbeat.

Hana changed her bratty and selfish behavior in this one, but I still questioned what Ash saw in her. The book switched from flashbacks of when Ash and Hana were together to present. The flashbacks were of the trials Ash and Hana went through while in a long distance relationship. In present time, it felt like they were apart more than together. Also, not until almost the end, did I think Ash really wanted Hana back. I don't have as much faith as a lot of other reviewers that this relationship would last. I did not feel the intensity.

I read the first book in this series a year ago and I fell in love with it. I lived in New Mexico for a couple years and motocross was very popular while I was out there. These books pull me right back into those memories.

Hana spends this book going between flashbacks and present day. It was done in a way that still flowed and kept you powering forward to find out how it ends. I loved being able to get the details of the relationship and also watching everything unfold in the present as well.

Hana has blossomed into a character who i could see me meeting in real life. She has a realness to her that is refreshing. You follow her through her good days and her bad ones, too. You get a full glimpse in her head to fully understand who she is.

I am definitely team Ash in both this book as well as Motocross me. I hope to see this series keep going so I can see more of him in the future.

Cheyanne has a gift of being able to create characters and throw you for a loop with them. You think you have them figured out and she makes sure you stay on your toes. I love that about her writing. You never know what to expect from them.

The setting is back in Mixon, Texas with some of the flashbacks being in different cities, but the majority of it is set at the track. You would think that keeping it in one place would make the book seem boring, but it is written in a way that you still love reading about it and following all that goes on there.

The ending was wonderful and kept a smile on my face. I ended up having to re-read the last chapter because I wanted to stay with the characters. I have my fingers crossed to see these characters again!

I would recommend this book to anyone out there that loves a fast flowing finding yourself tale. I could give this book to my grandmother as well as a teenager trying to find out who she is. I think anyone could get sucked up into this world and come out with a smile plastered across their face.

5 out of 5 stars!

Supercross Me is the follow-up novel to Motocross Me, and it picks up slightly ahead of where Motocross Me left off. Just like the well-written description reveals, this novel starts off with a break-up. Ash's supercross career is taking off, and with it comes money and fame-- both of which Hana and Ash have trouble adjusting to. The story is written in alternating time-frames, going from past to present every few chapters. I love Hana and Ash's realistic characters and relationships, but the transition between past and present was a bit jolting for me and made it harder to read. I found once there were more present tense chapters I was breezing through the book, because I didn't have to adjust for the reversion in time. I truly enjoyed watching Hana step up to the plate with her family and watching her and Ash work things out. The level of the relationship and the issues in it were spot on for the age group and I can see 16-22 year old's really connecting with the way the book is written. I would be satisfied if this were the end of the series, but I'd definitely be interested in seeing how things work out with Ash's career and Hana, maybe, running the track? Overall, this was a quick read once the alternating chapters ended and was spot on for the age group that Hana and Ash are.

I really enjoyed reading Supercross Me. This book had everything I was looking for...witty dialog, compelling characters, romance, and even some good information on the world of motocross. Cheyanne Young writes the voice of her young heroine, Hana, with authenticity, wisdom, and just the right note. Although the book is fine as a standalone, I recommend you read Book 1 in the series, Motocross Me, first. This one makes perfect sense without the precursor, but you'll care more about Hana, as well as some of the other characters, with the more detailed background provided in the first book.

Boring

I really tried liking this series but the characters lacked depth and unremarkable. Just flipped through the chapters. The ending didn't make sense. The guy had a pic of another woman on his cell phone and he gives this pathetic excuse and she bought it. The plot was boring. The girl was pathetic and boring. I wasn't pulled or able to feel the emotions of the characters. Too wordy and cheesy. Don't waste your time on this one. I won't be reading books from this author.
