I have to say, I really liked this story. Just based on all the action and crime solving theme this book is a winner! Of course, add to that some suspense, romance and let's not forget the sweet but tough as a cookie ladies from the neighbourhood watch and you know you're in for a good time. I mean, just the badassery of the elderly women will have you laughing your ass off! I definitely loved them!!!
So, let's start with the blurb. New neighbors are bad news in Samantha Harper’s experience. Especially ones as suspicious and brooding as the guy who just moved in next door. So when the dangerous but sexy stranger seems to be involved in something illegal—the aspiring cop in her takes action. If only she could stop thinking about how he looks naked... Now, if that alone doesn't already make you curious enought to at least take a peak at Ash and Samantha's story, then I don't know what will. Seriously, you get a sexy, brooding, dangerous undercover guy with a serious six pack and you're not jumping at the chance to get to know him better? Not to mention that he can be a real gentleman when needed... Yeah,I don't think so. I know I wasn't strong enough to resist him, not that I'd ever tried to.
As said, Ash definitely scorred some good points in my book. The only negative I could say about him was that he let his past influence his time with Samantha a little too much for my taste. He's been burned badly by his previous love interest and the consequences have been pretty bad, almost lethal. So, I kinda get why he way behaving the way he did with Sam but after a while it just got too repetitve for me. Thankfully he's got a great team that tell him straight.
As for Samantha, I loved her fiery spirit. She has so much passion and drive that I felt like nothing could stop her. But she also has a part of her that likes to bring her into trouble. Big trouble! Luckily she has such awesome friends and family, including Ash, that would do anything for her. The way she was treated because of something others thought her dad did was just so stupid and uncalled for. But in the end that only made her stronger and be someone who could stand her ground.
Both main characters and their friends and family were awesome and so likable. I could see myself read their stories, that's for sure. I could go on and on but all that's left to say is that I loved the story and it's definitely worth reading. So, if you want to know Sam and Ash's story in full, go and get their book!!!
DNF. I wanted to like this book! Hot DEA agent and a heroine named Samantha?? Yes please! But, alas, I couldn't STAND her. I thought she was immature and reckless for someone who wanted to be a cop. Reckless isn't always bad, but for her, it was. She was a nightmare. Oh well!
This took a little longer for me to get into than I like, however, once I did it never slowed down.
I loved Sam's character. I am a huge fan of the 19th Street Patrol. All the ladies and boy oh boy if we had weapons like that it would be a mess around this country. But they are perfect in this book!
Sam and Ash met when he saved her from being mugged by a junkie. What he didn't do was let her arrest said junkie which really ticked her off. Ash is shocked that Sam isn't thanking him for saving her and has no interest whatsoever in discussing this with her. In fact, he slams the door in her face.
That begins a crazy ride that will shock you with it hijinks and and accidents along with the sexual tension.
Sam is trying to find her father who was working undercover in Vice when he dropped off the face of the earth. Half the people think he's dead and the other thinks he's dirty. She just wants to find him or find the truth and set things to right. Little does she know that Ash is here working undercover for the DEA. Soon she will know though and I am not going to tell you how because that would take out a ton of fun..
Read this book for a truly suspenseful and romantic book that keeps you in there to the end. You'll enjoy it.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book. It was what you want in a suspense, a hot capable hero, a heroine who can handle herself, a sinister someone causing issues, and a reasonably believable romance.
This was well written. The initial meeting with Ash and Sam was beyond funny. You feel his frustration, and hers, in everything that happens...and you actually feel a little sorry for Ash. He was right, Sam was wrong, but she REALLY doesn't appreciate his perspective.
The "neighborhood watch" is a hoot. Absolutely the best. And, Ash's response to the discovery they are watching him? Best. Ever.
The pacing was good, the writing was polished, and the story was fun. The drug storyline may have been a little far-fetched...but who cares. It was fun.
Sam keeps a close eye on what happens in her neighborhood. Together with her grandmother and a few sharp old ladies she watches everything that's going on outside like a hawk. Sam's new neighbor is interesting and also someone she has to be careful with. What's he doing and why has he moved into her area? She's determined to find out more about him and will do anything to get information. He's really sexy, so she doesn't mind spending time with him at all.
Ash is an undercover cop who has a surveillance job to do. He thought it would be simple and the last thing Ash wants is trouble. He didn't count on meeting someone like Sam though. He knows she's watching him and tries to keep his case a secret. She isn't going to back down and keeps contacting him because she has an interest in his investigation. He wants to keep her at a distance, but that's impossible because he likes her too much and his heart won't let him steer clear of her.
On Her Six is a gripping story about a terrifying drug problem and creepy criminals. It's also romantic and there's a lot of action both inside and outside the bedroom. Sam and Ash have great chemistry and it's obvious from the start that they won't be able to stay away from one another. Meanwhile they are both looking into the same case from different angles. Their interaction is fun and I loved their dialogue. Sam is fierce and she doesn't back down. When there's a dangerous situation she jumps right into it. She's extremely loyal and is willing to go far to protect the people she loves. Ash has a broken heart and something that happened in the past has greatly damaged him. He's protective and strong, but he has a vulnerable side as well. Sam is the perfect woman for him, but he's scared to let her in. Fortunately Sam slowly manages to break down his walls, which was interesting to see.
Christina Elle's writing flows easily. I loved that there's a lot going on in this book and every scene is filled with adrenaline. The fighting is fabulous and Sam's impulsive actions are fantastic. I liked the author's slightly ironic tone of voice which made me laugh quite a few times. On Her Six has it all, energy, humor and plenty of hot scenes. It's an amazing book and I enjoyed reading it very much.
This is a brilliant suspense, action packed and SO funny - I loved it!
Samantha Harper (Sam) is desperate to follow in the family tradition and become a cop, but keeps failing the exam. She’s feisty, fun, determined and tenacious. She also has a back up team of her gran and other elderly ladies with a useful range of skills, knowledge and connections! They’re brilliant at finding things out, making their own weapons and providing an incredible neighbourhood watch for their area. When the handsome new neighbour moves into the house across from Sam’s, little does he realise just what he’s getting into! He’s an undercover DEA agent, Ash Cooper, and the first encounter between him and Sam is hilarious! You’ll just have to read it yourself to appreciate how the author has so skilfully written maintaining the suspense but also adding humour and romance into this thoroughly enjoyable story.
The team work of Sam and the elderly sleuths is great, their interactions and resilience make them a true force to be reckoned with! Poor Ash just doesn’t know what’s hit him when he tries to misdirect their attentions and strives to rescue Sam from the sticky situations she keeps finding herself in. The characters and events are superbly portrayed, being brought to life in the readers’ imagination by this talented author. With international terrorist drug dealers determined to bring down the US, Sam’s Dad being missing in action, Ash’s ex girlfriend making an unexpected reappearance and so many twists and turns, this is an exciting, enthralling read that I have no hesitation in highly recommending to anyone who enjoys well crafted suspense along with laugh out loud funny interactions and a healthy dose of romance!
Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read this in exchange for my honest review.
This is Christina Elle's first book and I loved it! It was a great mixture of action and humor. I'll gladly read more by her!
Samantha (Sam) and Ash are great together. There was just enough angst in there from Ash's past to keep me turning pages. The Granny Squad, as Ash calls them, were laugh out loud funny! I read this while my girls were at acting class and I had people looking at me cause I was cackling at some of their antics :)
*thanks to Entangled Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
I liked that Sam could rile Ash, it made for interestin' reading, “not my team! A team!”He rubbed his temples. “Jesus, woman. You would try the patience of a saint. Can’t you just sit quietly and do as you’re told?” Apparently when Ash is deep in thought it's a huge no-no to initiate naughty time, "he looked down at their position. “Damn it, woman!” He propelled himself off the bed and toward the window. “This is serious, Sam. Stop touching me like that.” I liked this book, I loved Ash.
So many awesome things can be said about this book. Sam is so brave, but yet she runs into trouble without a plan so she is constantly needing saving. Good thing she has Ash to watch her six. While this is a suspenseful romance, it was also really humorous. The old ladies who are part of the 19th St. neighborhood watch are a mix of scary to funny. And some of their weapons they make is downright diabolical. To think that a tiny piece of paper could cause so much trouble.
A truly awesome read! The perfect blend of humor, suspense, action, and romance. There was great chemistry between Ash and Samantha. Samantha was quite the character and although you had to question some of the things she chose to do, you can't help but love her. Loved her team of little old ladies that always had her back. This is a book I highly recommend.
Samantha Harper is not having a good day and it gets worse as she's being robbed at gunpoint. The irony of this is that she's currently the secretary to the Major and plans to become a cop. As her attempts to talk her way out of it fail, she realizes this could be it for her. Until help arrives.
Ash Cooper is technically Sam's new neighbor. I say technically because he's a DEA agent actually there on an undercover assignment to find a drug supplier. *Oh man, I'm already thinking of the numerous ways this could go so very wrong.*
Sam has some issues with her co-workers as they believe the rumors about her Dad getting caught up in his undercover role and in turn becoming a dirty cop. Her Dad still hasn't been found two years later. Ash is having his own career troubles as he's recently been demoted from team leader and is now under the command of his replacement. His mistake? He became too personally involved with an informant. One that was playing him the whole time.
Though she's not his usual type, he can't deny there's something about her that just gets to him and Sam can't deny that while he definitely registers on the eye-candy scale, she knows something isn't adding up about him.
Will Sam and the sleuthing grannies (aka the Neighborhood Watch) figure out who Ash really is? Will Ash trust them with the truth? Is history repeating itself as the attraction and connection between Ash and Sam become too strong to deny? Will Sam achieve her dreams of becoming a cop and clearing her Dad's name? Will Ash prove that he deserves to be team leader again? Can Ash and Sam have a future together?
One-click now to find out the full story and see what happens. This is a cute story with an interesting premise and I think it's worth a read.
So why did I give it 3.5 stars? For some reason, and this is all on me and I quite honestly may have felt differently on any other day, but it took me a while to get into it. As I said, the premise was interesting. I liked the set up of how and why they met. I liked the sleuthing grannies. I liked Sam. However, for some reason, I just wasn't feeling Ash that much. I don't know if it was because of the numerous references to Lorena, the woman who betrayed him, and how much he loved her, how beautiful and sexy she was, etc. All the "reminiscing," and yes, her character was relevant for a couple reasons, talk and/or mental thoughts of her became a little too much. I think her part in things could've been conveyed just as easily without her seemingly feeling like a third main character. It just seems a little hard to believe that a year ago Lorena was the love of his life, but oh, he's so attracted to Sam now and plot twist, she's a part of his investigation, albeit in a different way, just like Lorena was. I didn't truly feel that he was head over heels for Sam and there, that I remember, was never any "I thought I loved Lorena but I was wrong." or "What I felt for her was nothing compared to what I feel for you." epiphany. I didn't really care for the similarities being drawn between Sam and Lorena and their place in Ash's life. I would've preferred Sam have her own separate "identity" in how she crossed paths with him, therefore not allowing any type of resemblance with Lorena at all. Again, this was just my personal preference, and in no way detracts from the author's talent, but for me it served to lessen my enjoyment of the story, the characters, and their HEA. I think if Lorena wasn't so prevalent in the story, or didn't at least seem like she was, I could've seen myself giving this 4, maybe even 4.5 stars, as I would've been able to feel more invested in the characters.
**I received a copy of this book from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**
Okay, look. I read these books for one thing and one thing only. The heat, the strong hands trailing into spaces, the warm kisses on the neck, lips, inner thighs all that ish so when the sassy times only happen TWICE in the whole fucking book?!?!?!? Welp, now I am not fucking amused.
We get to have Ash once in the beginning and once in the end.....that's it.
The rest of this dribble is actual storyline!!!! The acutal fuck? Who reads Penthouse for the articles? Not me.
Let's get into why this book is dribble. For starters, We have Ashland Cooper, hot kid, special forces or DEA or whateves, who gives a fuck, he's got mountains of muscles, a gun and blue eyes (I'd fuck him). He also has a past and he's all surly and shit about it but whats different with this one is he has soooooo many feels ya'll. He has to be the most sensitive man on the planet. Everything is like the end of the world.....it's so fucking cray and made my eyes blur.
Anywho, He fucked up royally over some Latin curves in South America once upon a time and he feels terrible about it right up until he meets Samantha Harper. He wasn't even attracted to her at first glance, yeah she's cute but like girl next door cute not like Eva Mendes damn hot but does that stop Ash from wanting to throw his career away for her about 3 pages later? Hell Nah, Son this is romance bitch.
Allllll that shit was suuuupppper annoying to read through.
Samantha Harper wants to be a cop like her daddy and grandpappy but she cannot pass that test. She's a savior in the regular boring sense of the word. Sammie runs around making stupid ass decisions that she has equally stupid ass excuses for and then tries to get all "Maybe so and so was right about me" wah - wah bullshit. Mmmm hmmmm, but you're an adult, Yo. Think before you leap not afterward like some irrational teenager...smh.
Ya'lll I had to read through allllll that miserable, miserable shit for TWO sexy times TWO!!!! and a bunch of half scenes that gave you blue balls....over it.
When wanna-be cop, Sam notices a suspicious new neighbor, she’s determined to find out everything she can about him. Armed with homemade weapons and a band of nosy elderly women, Sam sets up surveillance and against her better judgement, becomes a shadow he can’t dodge.
Ash doesn’t need some nosy neighbor trailing his every move. Working undercover looking for a drug supplier is difficult enough without Sam constantly getting in his way too. Giving her something to do will not only get her out of his hair but maybe allow him to actually do his job. Except the more time he spends with her, the more he likes her, until their combustible attraction hits a breaking point and Ash is left wondering what’s more important, getting his team back together or the one woman who seems to see past the walls he created out of self preservation.
On Her Six was a fast read with snappy dialogue and well fleshed out characters. Ash and Sam together was not only hot but hilarious at times. Sam seemed to get on Ash’s very last nerve quite often, resulting in my constant chuckling as he tried desperately to keep the woman in check. She had a way of finding trouble around every corner, but at times it was her that ended up saving him…even if he wouldn’t have been in trouble in the first place if it hadn’t been for her.
Sam’s grandma and the local neighborhood watch play a large role, which was often incredibly funny. There’s just something about watching an immensely alpha man be put in his place by a handful of scrappy grandma’s that made me laugh. Ash got his revenge though by knowingly displaying his goods while being videotaped by the unstealthy group. Doing naked lunges, I just…LMAO.
I will definitely be back for book two, because Christina Elle has thoroughly hooked me with her world building and engaging characters. Both suspenseful and funny, On Her Six is worth the read for the naked lunges alone, add in everything else and you’ve got yourself an awesome book!
This was suspenseful little story which was also at times was hilarious. The 19th St. neighbourhood watch are a bunch of old ladies who take their job very seriously. Sam is a young woman who wants to be a police officer but keeps failing her exam, but that doesn't stop her, she's very tenacious, as well as helping her grandmother who is the leader of the watch she has her own agenda she's determined to complete. Now DEA agent Ash has a surveillance assignment he wants to keep quiet about, but the women are becoming to be a hinderance, and what he does to put them off, Wow!. I enjoyed this tale very much. As well as suspense there's tension and intrigue in the plot and lots of steamy sessions between Ash and Sam. A great read. 5/5
OMG....I loved this book. A great mix of humor (lots and lots of it), suspense along with a fun and sexy romance. Okay, we can not forgo mentioning the crazy ladies of her neighbor watch group. I think I may have tinkled a few times laughing so hard.
Sometimes you just need a different type of book to read to break up the same old thing and this is one of them. I loved Sam, she is always seeming to find trouble. Ash is a character that I found myself wanting more of.
Overall this was a fun read in every sense. I can't wait to see what the author will be giving us in the next book in the series which I will be following.
I received an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review and here it is: 4.5 stars.
How nice to have a chance to read a new-to-me author and the first book in her new series, and thoroughly enjoy both.
First, I expected to be reading a romantic suspense novel, and this one had all the sizzle, action, drama and suspense a reader could want. What came as a very pleasant and welcome surprise was the humor in this novel. The ladies of the 19th Street Neighborhood Watch group were an absolute hoot--every last one of them, and they'd make an amazing TV series too, in my humble opinion. Look out Jessica Fletcher!
As for the main characters, DEA agent Ash Cooper is new to 19th Street. He's there only to observe and report back to his team about the proliferation of an instantly addictive, and, fatal to withdraw from, new drug that's hit the street, called Vamp. It earned the name because once taken, the addict's eyes turn red and black. He's been given "sit, watch and report" duty because his emotional involvement with a woman on his last assignment nearly cost him his life and the live's of his teammates, as well as the death of a child. No sooner does he move in when he's stopped and questioned by one of the 19th Street Watch ladies, and, of course, he has to maintain his cover so he lies about his identity--they don't believe him and they set up surveillance.
Also living next door is Sam (Samantha) Harper, whose grandmother Rose is a member of the Watch group. Sam works for the Baltimore Police Department as a clerk and has passed the physical and written exams to enter the police academy, but has failed at marksmanship six times. She desperately wants to follow in the BPD footsteps of her grandfather as well as her father, who has been missing and believed to have been killed while investigating drug runner Viktor Heinrich.
When Sam and meets hunky Ash, who's well-aware that the old ladies are monitoring him (he gives them quite a show), he finally admits who he is and why he's there. The attraction between these two is obvious, but Sam is brave and headstrong and so wants to prove that rumors that her father is still alive are valid that she wants to be in on the action. Ash is afraid that she'll both blow his cover and get herself and him in a whole lot of trouble, and boy is he ever right.
I won't spoil your fun, but can tell you that this novel was an exciting, sexy, funny and hard-to-put-down treat. I'll be looking forward to following this series, hoping for more humor, suspense and romance with Ash's teammates.
On Her Six (Under Covers #1) by Christina Elle In Samantha Harper’s experience, new neighbors are bad news especially suspicious and brooding, dangerous but sexy ones, so the aspiring cop in her takes action in this delightful romantic suspense.
All he wants to do is lay low and survive the crap surveillance assignment he’s been saddled with but after a run with his attractive neighbor, DEA agent Ash Cooper realizes that’s going to be much harder than he planned and the readers cant’ help but be delighted by this humorous but suspenseful romance as Ash tries to keep Samantha out of trouble and out of his hands. The chemistry between Ash and Samantha sizzles with lots of heat but this is one relationship that is full of heated clashes and Trouble with a capital T as both have sound reasoning for avoiding an entanglement with each other. The characters are strong and easily grab the reader’s attention with their compelling personalities and the plot is fast paced and flows smoothly with lots suspense, excitement and romance.
The story starts off with an intense situation that grabs reader’s attention and continuously builds suspense and excitement along with quite a lot of humor from there as Ash and Samantha work at cross purposes to bring down the bad guy. With Samantha being the culprit for most of the humor as she manages to gets herself in and out of some situations with some unorthodox methods. The scenes are well written and capture the imagination while the intriguing events keep readers glued to the pages.
The author used some creative license to make her story a bit unique and I enjoyed the story although I have to tell you that I had a love/hate relationship with Samantha of my own, sometimes I wanted to cheer her on and sometimes I wanted to strangle her but it was definitely fun.
DEA agent Ash Cooper never expected to be met with so much trouble in what was suppose to be a low key surveillance assignment, but the moment he moves in next door the beautiful, and oh so noisy, Samantha Harper he's finds a lot more than he bargained for...and it begs the question how can someone so gorgeous be so much trouble?
Samantha Harper normally isn't too fond of new neighbors, but the moment she spots the sexy hunk moving in next door, she can't help but be intrigued!! There is an mysterious air floating around him though, and her cop instincts start to kick in and have her moving in for a closer look...and finding a whole lot more than she bargained for!!
This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with it, it kept me on my toes from start to finish! I definitely foresee myself reading more from Ms. Elle's books in the very near future!! It had everything you could possibly want in a story; edge of your seat suspense, an addictive story line, well crafted characters with smoldering chemistry, and plenty of toe curling romance to boot!! Highly recommend it!!

Samantha Harper is determined to find her father. He was working undercover to bring down a local drug dealer when he disappeared. She'll find her dad and make the bad guys pay. Right now she's suspicious of her new next-door neighbor. Ash Cooper is hiding something. What's he up to? She and the neighborhood watch are on the case. I love these no nonsense ladies. They are feisty and funny. Sam is a strong, brave woman who wants to be a police officer just like her father, but she's having a few problems. I loved her spirit and her determination. Ash has his hands full. He's a DEA agent trying to stay under the radar. Falling for the wrong woman almost destroyed his life. He won't let that happen again. That's not going to be easy with Sam around. These two make a great pair. Things happen when they are together. I enjoyed the non-stop action. The characters and the dialogue grabbed my attention. Their attraction kept me reading. This story is filled with so many twists. I didn't know what would happen next. Baltimore will never be the same. Christina Elle's writing was excellent. I enjoyed On Her Six. I received a copy in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.
Having never read anything from this author, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the synopsis was very intriguing so I knew I had to read this book; and I am so glad I did. If you are looking for a book that will have you laughing out loud then this is for you.
This book is packed full of humour, suspense, action and of course romance. There is so much going on that you won't want to put the book down, it really is that good.
Sam is the perfect heroine, she is strong, determined and sassy; throw in the 'blue rinse' neighbourhood watch and we have our modern day Miss Marple. Then we have Ash, our hot as sin undercover DEA agent, he is demanding, hot, protective, moody and did I say hot.
I won't say too much about the story because you really need to read the book. Some of the situations Sam finds herself in are just crazy and you can't help but laugh, and you can feel Ash's frustrations as if they were your own.
It really is hard to explain how refreshing and funny this story is, it really is a must read, and I certainly can't wait for more in this series.
Christina Elle is a brand new author for me but she found a new reader in myself. I love a good romantic suspense. I love the drama... the intensity... the romance. Well this book gave me that and so much more. I was hooked by the end of the first chapter.
On Her Six was a laugh out loud romance with lots of suspense along with a few twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. This book took me on a journey that had me laughing, smiling, swooning, and had me wanting to be a part of her neighborhood watch.
This is Sam and Ash's story. He is on the job, undercover, doing surveillance. She is his intrusive, quirky neighbor wanting all the deets on him. Their attraction is sizzling. Their chemistry is electric. Their banter is fantastic. You are in for an awesome story.
Oh Sam! I really liked her character from the start. And their initial meeting... classic for this spunky, fiery, yet vulnerable girl. And Ash... get your fans out ladies and be prepared to swoon a lot. I rooted for these two hard... even when it seemed near impossible.
Christina Elle is a new author to me, but she is one I will definitely be reading again. Her characters in this story are full of sass, spunk, a need to protect, and pushiness. They were very entertaining the entire book. I absolutely loved the 19the street ladies group. I so want to be them when I grow up.
Sam got her bravado from her Grandma Rose. She was fiercely brave, despite the danger, and thrust herself headfirst into any situation where she felt she needed to be. With no thought for the consequences, she was all in. And in some circumstances, this worked for her and in others, not so much. But it made me love her anyway. And then there is the hotness, sarcasm, alpha protector known as Ash. He was good. I enjoyed his reawakening and his return to normalcy journey in this story. And I really liked the initial banter between Ash and Sam. They were funny!
I hope we get more from these characters because I really liked Ash's teammates. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
Christina Elle, did a superb job writing this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It has a great mix of romance, action and suspense. On Her Six, is incredibly well written and extremely entertaining. I found myself laughing out loud on numerous occasions. Although there is a sinister aspect to the plot, the humor makes this book a fun read.
The romance of this story is between Ash Cooper and Samantha 'Sam' Harper. Ash is an alpha undercover DEA agent who is used to being in charge and having his orders followed. Sam is quite a character, she is extremely likable, determined and relentless. She can at times be quite clueless and jumps feet first into situations.
The neighborhood watch made up of Samantha's grandmother and her friends are thoroughly entertaining and their inclusion in the story line, really made this book for me.
The banter and interactions between the characters in this book makes for an engaging, exciting and enthralling read. I look forward to reading more from this author.
A nice change of pace for me with this one, as On Her Six is about Sam; a wannabe cop and her hot as hades new neighbour, Ash.
Sam, her grandma and their little group of neighbourhood watch friends, have some seriously funny times when they are spying on Ash, trying to figure out who he is. A certain workout scene, certainly had me laughing out loud, that's for sure.
Ash, is actually an undercover DEA agent, whose assignment actually intertwines with a long time mission Sam has been personally doing in her free time. When these two meet properly, sparks fly, and the pull between them is dangerously strong. Once he realises what she is up to, Ash refuses to help Sam put herself in harm's way, but Sam's relentless unwillingness to let Ash "handle it" gets her into some very dangerous situations.
This was a good story, it had lots of drama, suspense, some action and a nice chunk of humour, as well as some steamy moments thrown in too. I'd certainly read more from this author. I give On Her Six 4 stars.

Ok so lets do this. The writing in this was well done. No big errors screaming at the reader. The characters are rather well developed, and so is the storyline. No big gaping time frames. No places that really left me thinking WTH? That being said, the storyline was familiar to me. I just recently read another book about a virus(This is a drug) causing "Vampireness"....(yeah I know its not a word). Some of these characters and their interactions felt off to me. Sam was a little too rush in gung-ho, forget the consequences, for me. I like her personality for the most part, just felt a little too careless to me at times. Its a good thing Ash isnt a "bad" guy or the whole 19th street crew could have been in trouble. Luckily hes there for the same reason more or less. I LOVE the street watch crew. They are so funny, and remind me of every group of busy bodied neighborhood silver haired gang..... They are so in your face. Overall I enjoyed the read, and had trouble putting it down. It wasnt a keep me up all night, but fairly close.
This was a great romantic suspense book. It snagged the reader's attention from page one and drew you into the action, the chemistry and the humor. The chemistry between Ash and Sam was instant and hot. The action was riveting and the storyline revolving around vamp was interesting and different than anything I've read recently.
I loved the supporting characters. The women of the neighborhood watch were full of sass and their differing personalty made them humorous to watch. I loved how they support Sam and how they interacted with Ash. They added color and flair to the story.
The romance between Ash and Sam was sweet and hot at the same time. They definitely had the smoking chemistry, but Ash showed his vulnerability with Sam. He was protective and possessive or her while Sam was impulsive and driven by her past. They really suited each other well.
This was a great book! I look forward to more from Christina Elle!
