Single mom and veterinary student Talon Reese thinks she is volunteering her time, not her heart or her body, for Marietta Montana’s second annual Bachelor Auction. But when Bachelor number 3 hits the stage, igniting every hormone she forgot she possessed, she’s questioning her vow of no more men. With a man this drool worthy, some fun doesn’t have to be off the table, even if she's not looking for a relationship.
Special Forces sniper Colt Ewing blew out of Marietta on graduation day and never looked back, until his former football coach asked for his help. Standing on the auction block is a tough mission for Colt until he meets his winning bidder, a woman who’s as warm and friendly as he is aloof and silent. All night her mouth has been creating sexual fantasies, so when she opens it to boldly proposition him, there’s no way in hell he’s going to say no.
But as Colt and Talon burn up the sheets, he begins to forget why he hates this town, and Talon wonders if she can learn to trust enough to fall in love. But will that be enough to convince him to stay?
The Bachelor Auction Returns series Book 1: Bachelor for Hire by Charlene Sands Book 2: Falling for Her Bachelor by Robin Bielman Book 3: Seducing the Bachelor by Sinclair Jayne Book 4: Weekend with Her Bachelor by Jeannie Moon
Sinclair has loved reading romance novels since she discovered Barbara Cartland historical romances when she was in sixth grade. By seventh grade, she was haunting the library shelves looking to fall in love over and over again with the heroes born from the imaginations of her favorite authors. After teaching writing classes and workshops to adults and teens for many years in Seattle and Portland, she returned to her first love of reading romances and became an editor for Tule Publishing last year. Sinclair lives in Oregon’s wine country where she and her family own a small vineyard of Pinot Noir and where she dreams of being able to write at a desk like Jane Austen instead of in parking lots waiting for her kids to finish one of their 12,000 extracurricular activities.
Seducing the Bachelor by Sinclair Jayne is another good book in the bachelor auction series, but what I don't like about this is that it has sort of a cliff hanger ending without having one. It takes us back to the fictional town of Marietta and gives us a good story with good characters but I have never been a fan of cliff hangers. That's why it only get 3 stars.
Sinclair Jayne brings a great addition to the Bachelor Auction series. Seducing the Bachelor ticked all the boxes; sweet, sexy, funny, heartwarming and a little heart wrenching, Colt and Talon had a wonderful chemistry and I don't mind admitting that Colt generated a major case of the happy sighs.
Talon and Colt are complete strangers but when eyes meet over the crowded auction venue, the attraction is instant and very mutual. Marietta holds bad memories for our special forces sniper, and he's reluctantly returned home between deployments to offer up his services in the bachelor auction. Single mum, Talon is balancing raising her son with her waitressing job and her studies to be a vet leaving herself little time for anything else. Naturally it goes without saying that she's the auction winner, but it really is just the beginning of their journey.
"Keep fantasizing. But be warned. I intend some of those fantasies to become real so you’d better be creative."
Colt is dealing with a few demons from his past, but it's Talon, and her fabulous little boy, Parker who show him that Marietta isn't the place he remembers and new memories can be forged. Her understanding, honest, caring nature was lovely against his more guarded, and as she and Parker break through Colt's tougher exterior it brings the emotion. Their feelings are perfectly paced and really do blossom as the story progresses, but with Colt due to redeploy, there's always that feeling lurking that it's time limited and hearts are going to be left broken.
Sinclair Jayne has an inviting, enjoyable writing style that worked perfectly for me and she's brought her reader a couple, and a little boy, that you simply can't not fall in love with, reinforcing just why I love spending time in Marietta, Montana. As for the bachelors, one to go and I'm looking forward to seeing how Jeannie Moon ends the series with Gavin's story.

I read a different version that said this was Wilder Brothers 1, but there's only one Wilder and he shows up in the beginning of the first chapter of the next book which is the bonus as the end of this one. The author really needs to get this straight.
THIS IS A CLIFFHANGER, of sorts. And, it's not very romantic at all. If there was a proposal, we don't get to read it. And, I would have liked to see Parker's reaction to Colt. And we kind of already know what's going on here with Parker's dad and Colt's mom, right? It's just not wrapped up in this book.
The writing just wasn't my cup of tea and I hate when things aren't wrapped up.
I made it to chapter four and quit reading. I think this could be a decent book, but it just feels too wordy to me. I feel as though there are too many descriptions and they are just getting in the way of the story. I had to quit reading.
ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!! Title: Seducing the Bachelor Series: The Wilder Brothers Author: Sinclair Jayne Designation: Book 1 of Series, Full-Length, Standalone, No Cliffhanger, Contemporary Military Romance #familysaga #bachelorauction #sexyarmyranger #singlemother My Rating: Four Sexy, Heartwarming Stars**** *This book was originally Published as part of The Bachelor Auction Returns multi-author collection.
Another delightful read in The Wilder Brothers Series by Sinclair Jade! Yeah, I know that sounds a little strange since Seducing the Bachelor is the actual first release in The Wilder Brothers, but I kinda put the cart before the horse by reading the fourth book of the series first and enjoyed it so much, I raced back to purchase the other three. Although each of the books features a separate couple finding love and can be read as a standalone, there is an underlying interconnected family conflict running throughout the series and for that reason, I highly recommend reading them sequentially to avoid spoilers. Sinclair Jayne is a relatively new author for me, having only read two of her books so far, but I must say I'm truly impressed and look forward to reading many more in the future. But let's talk details.
Seducing the Bachelor is a captivating, fast-paced, easy to follow, full-length, standalone, contemporary military/bachelor auction romance brimming with delicious drama, heartbreaking angst, undeniable attraction, steamy passion, and sweet, soul-healing love. Sigh... So dreamy! The entire story takes place in the Marietta, Montana world which serves as the backdrop for several series and multi-author collections by Tule Publishing. Marietta is your typical western small town where secrets are hard to keep, gossip runs rampant, the rodeo is their favorite sport, and everyone knows everyone, including the details of their personal life and all their dirty laundry. Sounds like my kind of town! lol... The narrative was beautifully written in the third person with clearly discernible his and her perspectives. The dialogue was smart, snappy, raw, emotional, natural, and flowed effortlessly. I loved the premise, world, and conflict Jayne created for this story, and I especially enjoyed the small town environment and sense of community, but it's the cast of endearing, relatable characters that totally stole the show. I was immediately smitten with handsome, stoic Special Forces sniper Colt Ewing, and the beautiful, selfless single mom and aspiring veterinarian Talon Reese completely captured my heart. When these two lonely souls meet, it was nothing short of electric, and I loved every single minute of their story. Colt was all alpha male, strong, broody, confident, demanding, determined, yet respectful and polite, and soooo swoony, and Talon was such a sweet, kindhearted, giving, optimistic soul. Both of their backstories just broke my heart. Colt had no real family, had no clue as to the identity of his mother or father, couldn't remember much of his childhood, and was raised by an abusive man he thought was his uncle. Sweet Talon lived her entire childhood being bounced from one foster home to another, never knowing her parents. Her only family was not by blood, but by choice, and became a single mother when her best friend passed away and left an orphaned son named Parker whom she adopted. And oh my gosh, 7-year-old Parker was just precious! Colt and Talon were total opposites in personality but somehow complemented each other perfectly. The attraction was immediate between Colt and Talon, but both were determined to ignore it, and for very valid reasons, bringing a real slow burn aspect to the story, which I really liked and enjoyed. It's always so much fun watching the two protagonists dance around each other, trying to avoid the inevitable, especially when it's believable, and Sinclair Jayne always makes the push/pull of a blossoming romance feel realistic. Colt was an almost thirty-year-old Special Forces Sniper on a forced thirty-day leave with only six months left to serve on his current hitch but planned to reenlist as soon as he returned to base. He'd always been a loner, even before joining the Army. He had no real family, or so he thought, and left home at 18 and never looked back. He liked his life the way it was, with no roots, no family, and no attachments - until he met beautiful Talon Reese at a charity bachelor auction where he was railroaded into being one of the prizes to be auctioned, or rather a date with him. And poor Talon, my heart just broke for this young woman. She was only volunteering at the charity auction event and had no money to bid, no matter how hot bachelor number three was, and she certainly had no room in her life for a boyfriend and no time for a relationship. Her every waking moment was devoted to going to school, training to become a vet, working two jobs, and raising her 7-year-old adopted son Parker. But the heart wants what the heart wants and after her friends pooled their money to buy a date for her, Talon soon realized she wanted the hot, handsome, steadfast, but emotionally wounded Colt Ewing. And it wasn't one-sided, Colt wanted Talon, too. It just took him a lot longer to realize it. Yeah, there were a few times I wanted to give Colt a good, swift kick in the behind, but he eventually rose to the challenge and stepped up to claim his happy ending with Talon and Parker.
No spoilers from me but I will say this... A handsome, broody Special Forces Sniper who had no plans to ever fall in love-check! A beautiful, sweet single mom who had no time for love-check! A group of friends and a charity bachelor auction that changes the lives of two lonely souls-check! An adorable 7-year-old who changes a man's plans for the future-check! Drama, angst, heartbreak, humor, a wonderful cast of characters, and a second heartwarming love story that will tug at your heartstrings-you bet! That and a whole lot more!
So, did like this book? Yes, very much! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain a little profanity, several steamy, dreamy sex scenes, and an extremely sexy military man But if I enjoyed this book so much, then why only four stars? Overall, the book was well crafted, but there was an unusually high number of typos along with minor little boo-boos that would have been so simple to correct and should have been caught in the final editing/proofreading process. I'm not trying to be critical, just honest. Enough said. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! As I stated earlier, I enjoyed the fourth book of the series so much that I raced back to purchase the first three books. And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I snickered, snorted, sniffled, sobbed, and fumed with anger through the entire story but by the end, I was happy, satisfied, well entertained, and grinning like a loon. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
This was a freebie on Amazon. First in the series by an author I haven't read before.
This one was ok. I felt there was too much repetition & padding. Geez I get you're both attracted to each other, but it was getting on my nerves with the internal sexy dialogue! One turn off is the main couple almost do it in the laundry room. This is with a 7 year old in the house. Not to mention the stray dog just had puppies & one of them died. But hey! Let's do it!! The story kept my interest at least til the rather abrupt ending. There is a HEA.
In Seducing the Bachelor by Sinclair Jayne, don't let the title fool you! It is a deep, emotional read that I really enjoyed and couldn't put down.
Talon has finally found a place to call home in Marietta, Montana with her son Parker. The same place Colt swore he'd never return to after leaving for the army right after high school. But that's where he finds himself on his leave, helping out his former football coach by being part of a bachelor auction. Definitely uncomfortable and definitely not his thing, Colt goes through with it...even though he only has eyes for the woman in the bar who's captured his eye. That woman is Talon, and unbeknown to her, her friends have 'won' Colt for her... Despite the immediate attraction, Colt quickly finds out that Talon is tied close to his past. A past that still torments him. The pull between them is strong though, and even knowing Colt will leave again, Talon decides she deserves to have some fun. But can her heart survive when he leaves?
I really liked Talon. I liked her positive, happy attitude, her resilience and strength. She did not have the best childhood, but is now thriving in Marietta with her son. I liked that she finally decided it was ok for her to be a woman, have feelings, and have fun! I was worried about her getting too attached to Colt though, because he made it clear he was not staying. She was so good and non judgemental with Colt though, and it felt good to feel like I knew her. I loved, loved, Colt. Sinclair writes his character so well, she really pulled me in and made me feel for him. My heart ached for him at times. Colt too has moved on from a horrendous childhood and never looked back. He's focused on his life now, but the past still haunts him and affects who he is today. He doesn't do relationships, he doesn't know how. He has few close friends, but even them he rarely sees. He is very driven, but I felt like he must be so lonely at times, even if he didn't think about his life that way. As Colt and Talon become closer, the attraction and connection becomes even stronger. Talon is hoping for more from Colt, but he can't make promises he doesn't know he can keep. He doesn't know if he has it in him to give more. I couldn't wait to see how this relationship ended up. They just felt so right together, honestly like two pieces of a puzzle fitting together, and I really hoped Colt could take the chance.
Talon and Colt are powerful characters, and Sinclair Jayne brought them to life so clearly that they felt real. I won't forget them anytime soon! Her descriptions of the ranch, the tree house, even the house were vivid, making things easy to see in my mind. Parker, Talon's son is a really sweet boy who is a strong secondary character. I just adored him.
Characters from the other Bachelor Auction series make appearances in Seducing the Bachelor, but it can definitely be read as a stand alone. It is very well paced and smoothly written.
Like I said, I loved, loved this book. However, there are a few loose ends that are left undone and the story didn't feel finished to me because of this. To me they felt like important parts of the plot and leaving them undone left me feeling a bit lost. That was my only disappointment with this book, but it was significant enough to give a 4 star review instead of a 5 star review.
I'd recommend Seducing the Bachelor to any romance reader, particularly if you like an army man!
I really enjoyed the book until it tied up quickly for a rushed ending, leaving me with lots of questions. I suspect this is intentional so that you move on to the next book in the series. This was a good fast read but seriously needed an epilogue. There’s a sort of HEA but a lot of things are left unresolved. Here are a few things that bothered me (spoiler alert): 1) Who was Samara Wilder? Colt's mother? She appeared to recognize Talon's necklace. 2) Did Samara ever meet with Colt? 3) Did Colt ever read the letter his "uncle" left him with his will? 4) We never learn how Talon’s son Parker reacted to Colt's return? And did they ever finish the treehouse? (The book made a big deal out of this treehouse earlier.) 5) What did Colt leave on Parker's pillow? 6) Did Colt take Noah up on his job offer? 7) The series name implies unknown brothers but we hear nothing of this in the story. While I enjoyed her writing, I don’t really care for cliffhangers and will check that out before reading her next story.
Since I’ve already read the second and third parts of the Wilder Brothers series, I thought it was time to come back and see where it all began. If I hadn’t already read Want Me, Cowboy, this book would have left me with so many questions – none of which relate to the Bachelor Auction series. It did also leave me with a few different questions, but I’ll get to those later.
Colt is an old resident of Marietta and couldn’t leave fast enough when his chance came, Talon is a newcomer who loves the small town and can’t ever imagine leaving. Their goals may be different, but the chemistry between them is hard to deny and there are a lot of similarities in the way they grew up and the hurts they have inside. I liked them both and I thought they made an excellent pair. I particularly loved how Colt and Talon’s son, Parker, got along, even if Parker did some times raise some painful memories.
The road to love and happiness is of course paved with emotional issues, and there were times when I wanted to shake Colt, because the answers are right in front of him but he just can’t see them. Still, I enjoyed the romance and loved seeing how everything turned out.
However, when it comes to all the other bits and pieces that connect it to the Wilder Brothers series, things weren’t quite as smooth. Colt learns something about his past that goes precisely nowhere. Talon meets a strange woman and, again, it goes nowhere. These things are important to the other books, but they’re left completely hanging here with little curiosity shown by the characters.
I was also a little confused. The way Talon is written in Want Me, Cowboy, is rather fragile, as if Colt has to protect her from some terrible past pain that made her wary of men. Imagine my surprise to find her nothing of the sort in this book. She’s strong and competent and I liked her a lot here, to the point where I’m disappointed in her in the other books.
So on its own this is an enjoyable read, with an emotional romance that’s also filled with chemistry and plenty of fun, especially where Parker is involved. However, it does leave several plot points hanging and the transition between this and the next Wilder book isn’t particularly smooth. On the whole, though, I’m glad I read it.

Talon and Colt both had difficult childhoods for far different reasons. Talon was part of the foster care system, but her upbeat personality didn’t let that harsh fact change her. She kept her sunny disposition and attracted a like minded friend, Jenna, who she remained close with. When Jenna died, her son Parker was adopted by Talon. He was her pride and joy… she would, and is doing everything possible to give them both a good life. If right now that includes several jobs, long hours on her feet, fitting school n and juggling both of their schedules, well so be it – her son was worth everything.
During his younger years Colt lived with his “uncle”, a drunk, abusive man who prompted Colt to spend as much time away from the ranch as possible. Football was one way during his high school days to be someone else. And the moment he could, he signed up with a recruiter and hightailed it out of Marietta for good. He became a highly skilled military man, contained and deadly, and never ever looked back. Until the Coach asked him and some other former players to take part in a charity Bachelor Auction to benefit the local hospital in building a helipad which could save lives. Talon was working at Grey’s that night – neither knew that simple bachelor auction would change their lives forever.
There are people who touch some part of us, for whatever reason, and we simply cannot walk away – even when every instinct tells us to. Colt makes a discovery, early on, about this lovely lady who he’d had an instant attraction to, and who her friends had “bought” him for during the auction. How would he handle knowing she’d spent months living at the ranch, nursing an ailing man who showed such different sides to Colt or Talon and Parker. She was difficult to resist, and truth to tell, he didn’t try hard to walk away. This was temporary, he’d only be in town one month to wrap up his uncle’s affairs – then he had the decision to make of signing up again or finding out what life offered him outside of the military. He wasn’t a forever kind of guy, he didn’t know how to be – Talon and Parker deserved better than him… but they would disagree.
Talon and Colt’s romance is deeply emotional, hitting on subjects that are realistic and completely believable. They have decisions to make, choices that could bring them happiness forever or just a short time. Seducing The Bachelor also sets up the beginning of The Wilder Brothers series. There are still questions that were left unanswered, hints at deeper secrets yet to be revealed. As a set up story, it worked very well as now we need to know what is happening next.
I enjoyed this story very much, as well as both series. If you’re looking for a believable couple in situations that are completely relatable – then this story, and these series should be on your reading lists. I would recommend Seducing The Bachelor without hesitation.
I love Sinclair Jayne's male characters. Dark, broody, sort of bad boys with good intentions and hearts of gold. And her female characters are always inspiring; strong women ready to overcome every hurdle life throws their way. The same goes for Colt and Talon. The attraction between them is instant, explosive. And each has a past. Colt has ghosts that haunt him and Talon has struggled every step of the way to get to where she is in life today. They quite complement each other but Colt has to let go of his preconceived notions about the kind of man he is, long enough to give them a chance. Completely in love with the way this book ends and a lovely little teaser to a possible follow-up story in there as well. Keeping my eyes peeled for that one,
ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This story had so much promise. I absolutely loved Colt, Parker and Talon. It was a much deeper story than I expected, and I really enjoyed that aspect of it. The reason I only gave it three stars is because it felt...unfinished. There were still so many questions that weren't quite answered. I get that sometimes authors want the reader to make inferences, but with this story, I feel like it should have been wrapped up given that it was a standalone.
I have read the book before & finished it, due to the good story line. But, as I read it 2nd time, the need for severe editing is so so obvious. You can definitely tell that this is a very beginning writer, whom needs to take grammar lessons and learn how to write without more than one (and) in a sentence. Don't read this book, unless you are ready to do more highlighting than reading.
Simple yet has deep lessons. Characters are flawed but has shown dept and more. The love story doesnt beat around the bush. Then there seem to be a twist and continuation about Colt's real parents. Nicely done Sinclaire!
Wow, loved Colt! A really good storyline with swoon worthy sex in it! The tree house was amazing and so was Duke! Hope the next one shares more answers!
DNF. I got to chapter 4 and couldn’t stand reading anymore. “Hard to walk when she was pressing her legs together so tightly.” This is the opening line in the chapter. And on previous pages there were similar eye-rolling cheesy lines (imo). Just not for me.
One of my fave romance trope is a single parent-single person love story. I like children, and I think it's always so much fun seeing these kids get attached to a new person and they learn to trust them. Not just that, but also just the way the single person is ready to take on a responsibility they didn't sign up for is something to behold.
Anyway, the book description got me. And right off the bat, our main characters are already flirting with each other on the sly. It's freaking adorable!
This is just going to be a short review, not only because the book is also short, but also because I don't want to give anything away.
I like the drama of the whole book, I like the slow burn they're trying to do even though their attraction was pretty much insta-love. It just makes you want to keep rooting for both of them.
Halfway the book though, I felt it was quite rushed. Though this book is a stand-alone, I feel like the author left some things left unanswered that can be read for the next book... I dunno, it just felt incomplete to me... And the ending had a happily ever after, but I just wasn't satisfied.
Overall, it started out great, but just so rushed in the end. But it still had a good story line and romance, for sure.
I have had this book on my Kindle for so long and I can't believe I didn't read it sooner. This is what happens when you constantly download books. Everything you have gets pushed further and further down the list. Last week when I was looking for something to read, I purposely scrolled down to the older downloads and stopped as soon as I saw Seducing the Bachelor.. I'm a big fan of this author so I decided this would be my read. I devoured it. So emotional with complex, lovable characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. My only disappointment was at the end. There is a bit of a mystery that is left hanging. While that mystery went unresolved in this novel, I easily predicted what is was. I just wished that element was wrapped up in this book and not carried over to the next book. I wanted to see first hand Colt and Talon's reaction.
That said, I still loved this book and will be reading the rest of the series as soon as possible. Definitely recommend it!
This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. :)
This is the first book in the Wilder Brothers series by Sinclair Jayne. Talon Reese is a single mother and veterinary student who volunteers for the Marietta, Montana’s annual Bachelor Auction, expecting a fun night. When Bachelor #3, Colt Ewing steps on stage, Talon’s no-men vow stars to waver, he is a former Special Forces sniper who left town years ago and never looked back. Colt agrees to the auction as a favor to his old coach, but Talon’s bold proposition and fiery spirit sparks something he didn’t expect. What begins as a one-night fling quickly deepens, forcing both to confront past wounds, trust issues, and the possibility of something real. There are themes of second chances and emotional healing. This opposite attract blends sizzling small-town romance chemistry with a bachelor auction and a daring proposition, as a resilient single mom and a brooding ex-soldier share an unforgettable one-night connection. What begins as a fleeting spark deepens into a heartfelt love story filled with emotional vulnerability, chemistry, and the tender thrill of second chances.

Maybe I am a grump or I need to steer more towards Romantic Comedies, but this book felt like hard work. Yes, it was fairly well written and the characters were likable. But there was just no joy or even moments of lightness. From beginning to end this story is all sadness and past trauma. It's not that a romance has to be all "meet cutes" and "love's funny foibles", but I was left wishing for better balance. Some light to go with the dark.
I also felt there was some character development missing. We don't dive very deep into these characters and what makes them who they are (besides their past traumas). Why does the female lead love animals and want to be a vet? Why is her son seemingly passionate about the army? What does the male lead like or have interest in BESIDES the Army? Where did he learn to build? It feels like we get a lot about their trauma and not much else.
Oh My! What a heart stopper! This is definitely one of the hottest books I have ever read, and I've read so many I've lost count. The chemistry between Talon and Colt is off the charts, and lets not forget Parker! How sweet is he? OMG! Talon is definitely a lemons to lemonade kind of girl, and Colt is just the sour lemon, until sparks fly and painful memories disappear. From foster homes to adoptive mom, and battered boy to strong soldier, these two will not only capture your heart, they'll sweep it away on a journey you won't soon forget. The heat these two bring to the story could melt all the snow in the Arctic, and young Parker will melt anyone's cold, hardened heart. An absolute gem to read. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this very talented author. I was gifted a copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.
*I voluntarily read a Review Copy via Net Galley. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one else's*
Seducing the Bachelor was a fantastic read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I loved the intense magnetic pull between Talon and Colt. Colt was dark, broody yet intense whereas; Talon was sweet, kindhearted and full of life. Both grew up in the system but where one had accepted their past and moved on the other wasn't able to do the same.
The story was amazing and I loved the intensity and emotional depth of the characters. However, there were too many unanswered questions at the end of the book - the loose ends made the story feel incomplete.
Going back to Marietta, Montana, this time for the third book in the Bachelor Auction series is with a sweet romance that ended with some loose ends unresolved. Though that is a bit unsettling...unless closure comes in the next installment in the series...I still enjoyed Talon and Colt with their unique situation and the warmth that they brought to the story. There some heartwarming moments, along with a fast paced and moving story. You can't go wrong with the setting of Marietta...unless you leave the reader with loose ends.

Colt Ewing who is on leave from the military comes to visit his former football . He talks Colt into being auctioned off for charity. He has bad memories of this town. He hated the whole 9 years living with his alcoholic Uncle. Talon Reese was in foster care in her childhood and wants to settle in this down. Colt sees Talon and is attracted right away same with her. Her friends buy him for her. She brings him home and it ends up being his Uncle's former home. He Uncle has died. Talon also has an adopted son. Sparks fly between these and I live the dialogue between the two.
Talon grew up in foster care. She has adopted Parker, her best friend's son, after she dies unexpectedly. Talon, at only 25, has had many life experiences - sometimes I feel like the author makes them too young to match the experiences, but that's just me. Colt has had a tough life. He grew up with an alcoholic uncle and left for the military as soon as he could. They meet through a bachelor auction when Yale's friends bid on Colt for her. There is a bit of mystery that is left hanging a lot as Colt has no siblings or other family we learn about.
Oh this is book #3 ... didn't realize that when I was reading it, I am wonder about the other 2 books in this series, wonder if I need to read them to feel all connected or?
