On a windswept cliff above San Francisco Bay in 2013, 27 year-old Andra Cameron, the last member of her family, prepares to scatter her family's ashes to the wind. An earthquake catapults her to the Scottish Highlands in 1705. She wakes, aching and bloody, to the sound of horses thundering through the trees. Terrified and with no other options, Andra accompanies these rugged warriors. She can't deny the undeniable attraction that ignites between herself and the handsome but gruff Kendrick. Will she trust him to provide protection in the harsh reality of 18th century Scotland and with her secret, or will she find a way to return home to the 21st century?
Laird Kendrick MacLean and his men, escaping a recent skirmish with their worst nemeses, clan Cameron and their Sassenach allies, are shocked to find an injured, unprotected female in their path. How could she not know her kin and how had she landed in the middle of the wilderness alone? His men suspect she's a spy or a witch. Still, Kendrick will not abandon an injured woman, even if she speaks unusually accented English, and her name is Cameron. Will he ransom her to others or will their closed hearts open to each other? Although he questions her every utterance, this feisty, outspoken woman inflames his desire like no other.
After more than twenty-five years writing and delivering management and other training programs, Aleigha turned her writing efforts to fiction and poetry.
When not writing, you’ll often find Aleigha walking along the shore with her four-legged companion, Strider. The whoosh of waves across glistening sand, and the turbulent swell of the sea at sunset dissolve the noise of the day. If this fails to conjure the muses and stimulate her creative juices, she’ll sip a glass of wine and read. She loves all forms of writing, but historical and romance fiction, especially those with time-travel themes, provide a favorite escape. Aleigha firmly believes everyone secretly yearns for the romance genre’s essential HEA.
Finding My Highlander is her first novel in a Highlander time-travel series. Book two, My San Francisco Highlander, will be released in August, 2017. Keep watching.
This was one of the best Time Travel Highlander books I have read. Gripping story and wonderful characters. I hope this author writes another one like this soon! Wonderful writing, I was sorry to finish it and yet couldn't wait to see what would happen next. A sure sign of a good book.
What a ride! I love Highlanders and time-travel so this was perfect. The world is intricate and seems well researched from the castle to the fighting to the people. I loved the strong 21st century Andra, but my heart belongs to the handsome alpha, Kendrick. There are several other strong highlanders to also love. The story felt a bit slow in the beginning but since there was a lot of background to cover it sped up once that was done. The plotting was well done and the ending was a surprise. It is not easy to surprise me. I fully enjoyed both the characters and the story. I felt all the emotions as I cried and laughed and yelled and gasped. Definitely Recommended!
A strong heroine, an alpha hero and an unexpected ending... err... or is it a beginning? ;) No spoilers here.
I love a time-travel story almost as much as I love hot highlanders. If you are the same, you will enjoy this book.
The plot and character development is solid. 1705 Scotland seemed well researched, descriptive and believable. I appreciated how the author got right to the time travel aspect but once heaved back in time there is a lot of necessary backstory to cover. The many supporting characters are strong and move the story forward.
My only quibble, be it a small one, the writing is a tad wordy at times and I found myself skimming, but only a bit. Though, I understand this is Ms Siron's debut. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I gotta say Andra got on my nerves at times, she could be stubborn to the point of almost being stupid at times and I hated some of RH things she had to go through but loved this story .. Finding a good time travel isn't always an easy thing, too clean, too silly, or outrageous and lame like iPhones what still work and such, with heroines who are either too naïve and innocent , do great imitations of doormats or too stubborn and can't or won't listen to any or all good sense even if it were to bite them on their rear.. One where the balance is just right and the h is made of rhr strong stuff to survive mentally emotionally and physically, when everything she knows is ripped away from her yet able to bend to her new surroundings but not lose who she is,when done right it's a beautiful and magical thing,Andra almost didn't get that balance and she did slip a few times but I loved it all and I can't wait to read more ;) Thank you ❣️
Wow! This story was absolutely wonderful. I was impressed with the way the author developed the characters. I found myself rooting for the time traveler to actually kick more butts. Great ending with a surprising twist. Definitely this book is one I would recommend reading.
So often the plots and stories are the same, just with different names. What I enjoyed about this book was the embrace and marriage of Scotland with a far better story. Well done.
To be honest it drug in parts. The author focused on the world they lived in a bit too much for comfort. I don't need constant descriptions of the Highlands. The fight scenes, the fleeing scenes...sure but the rest isn't necessary. The other thing is that there was not really an ending. It just sort of stopped. Overall the meat of the story had potential and I liked the concept as it was a new and different method of time travel. She had some original ideas. It needed a bit of editing as there were areas where the wrong name is used and a few other content areas that seemed outside of the flow of what was actually happening. The love scenes were fine and at least some the characters had depth. I hate endings that don't really end. You don't need to have a cliff hanger for someone to want to read another book....you need a really good story and a great ending. I gave it 3 stars because I couldn't give 2.5 since it was overall well written.
i thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. i had trouble putting it down once i started it. I wish I had the right words to say how much I like this book. I look forward to more from this author!
I read the second book first, so i wanted to see how it started. This sorta answers that but not entirely. The story is well developed and the characters are heartwarming. It's 4 am when I'm finishing this. It's a good book.
I was so disappointed in this book. It followed Diana Gabalden's book Outlander almost exactly. Outlander is an amazing book, I would rather read that 4 more times than read this one through. I was 3/4 finished then put the book down. I kept hoping it would start its own story line.....
