Landon Hill is a filthy liar.

He was my brother's best friend, my first crush, my first love...my first everything.

And then he betrayed me.

How many times have I thought about it? How many times have I relived the moment when I found out he left town without ever saying a word?

And how long has the memory of him consumed my every waking thought?

Three years.

That’s how long it’s been since I’ve seen or heard from him, the only man I ever loved.

The man I now despise.

But suddenly, without warning, Landon Hill is back. And to make matters worse, he’s somehow become rich beyond imagination, and he’s opening some mega business in town and walking around like he owns everything in sight.

Including me.

But I’ll never be able to forgive him, even if the fire still rages between us. In the end, I know that he’s never to be trusted. He’s a filthy liar.

I love this series; it has so many twists and turns and really draws you in and keeps you wanting more. There is so much going on that you can't help but to get wrapped up in it all!!! Then just when you think things are going to slow down you are left with a cliffhanger that leaves you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next book. I would definitely recommend this series! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and originally posted this on another website on May 22, 2016.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in the series that I have read by this author, and I see a progression in her writing and I like it. I enjoyed reading this story because it was full of emotional angst, scorching love scenes, a compelling storyline, and this book was well written by Paige North. I loved the characters of Landon and Taryn. Taryn cannot get over Landon and she is really falling for him. When Taryn decides to go to Texas for the internship, she finds the letter divulging that her brother has cancer. What now! Should she go to Texas for the internship or stay home and help take care of her brother? What about Landon? Can she leave him? Landon is full of mystery, and Taryn cannot get him to open up to her until…. There are several twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. I cannot wait to read the next book to find out what happened. This series would be worth your while to read.

Book two picks up right where book one left us. Taryn has just discovered the devastating news of her brother's cancer. Even worse is that Landon knew all this time! He tells her to keep quiet about her knowledge of it and she hesitantly agreed. Indecisive about whether now would be a good time to leave for her dream internship, Landon offers her a position at his company. Her brother Matt is totally against it and Taryn's feelings for Landon. Despite their past and her knowing of his womanizing ways, she gives in to her feelings for him. These two spend more time together and Taryn's ready to be all in. Just when it seems like he's finally reciprocating and proving everyone wrong, his WIFE shows up!! Wow!! Paige North knows how to keep the momentum going! I'm loving this series! Cannot wait for book three!

Just Keeps Getting Better!

This relationship with Taryn and Landon just keeps growing and then....bam!!! What a cliffhanger!!! This new author writes a very descriptive, heartfelt story. Taryn has been through so much the last few years and now that her brother, Matt, has cancer ( her Mom died from a form of cancer) she is devastated...mainly because he hasn't told his family. Landon has this mystery surrounding him as to why he left Taryn 3 years ago. Can't wait for the next book and hopefully some answers.

Disappointing. The characters were juvenile and didn't seem to really have a connection. The male was frankly a dick and never convinced me that he genuinely cared for the female. it's also frustrating as heck when an author writes a serial and only a few are included as bonus material in another book. Normally I would want to finish the whole series, but these characters weren't likable enough to hook me.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
I feel like I was just punched in the gut. I knew you couldn't trust Landon but oh my gosh, he's low. One minute he's amazing and then the next I want to knock his lights out. Matt has the right idea, she needs to stay away from Landon but it's hard because he's so addicting!

I don't like to book bash. But this series was a rip off. Books 2-5 didn't go past 50%. 2.99 for books that ended before the halfway point. And why do you suppose? So we would spend another $2.99 to finish the story. One book actually ended at 16%. And another at 27%. Could have been a good story if you didn't feel taken advantage of.

Talk about a double whammy! It seems like her life is repeating and not in a good way. When do you decide to put yourself first? Landon'so offer is a good one but that looks like that sweet deal could go sour at any moment. THEN the surprise guest!?! Oh boy!

This book had two stories in it. I rather just have one book then to read a bundle of books. But overall, I can't wait for the third book.

Good storyline

The story line is good and the characters have some depth. Wish the story was longer and didn't end on such a huge cliffhanger with me waiting for the next book.

If it wasn't complicated enough between Taryn and Landon now she finds out that her brother has cancer too after losing her mother to this awful disease.
