Finding Sarah was a heart-warming read about life and love in a rural English village as a new resident, Sarah, moves in to rebuild her life. However, there was more underneath the surface of the charming village than first appeared. Despite Sarah's dream of finding happiness and, indeed, love, there were several residents and characters who had other ideas.

After a nasty divorce Sarah moves into a cottage in Lower Nutton. She used to live in the city, but loves the peace and quiet of the countryside. Her two children are both grownups now, so she can make her own choices. She started her family at a young age and doesn't have much work experience. Fortunately she manages to find a job that suits her very well. She's having a completely new life and she likes it. Sarah also meets a man she admires and maybe even loves. When she finds out Nick is the local vicar she's shocked as she's divorced and there might not be a chance for them.

Nick is a vicar who rides on a motorcycle. He's handsome and nobody has ever seen him with a woman, so he's the subject of a lot of gossip. He's well loved in the village and people often come to him for advice. Because of his work he doesn't date, but when he meets Sarah he can't help but breaking his own rules. His job as a vicar might be a big obstacle when it comes to having a relationship. Will Nick and Sarah have a chance at happiness together?

Finding Sarah is a heartwarming, charming and unusual love story. Sarah is insecure and doesn't know how amazing she is. Slowly she becomes stronger and more self-confident. She makes her decisions with her heart and I enjoyed reading about that aspect of her personality the most. Nick is a great man, but he also has a past and the result of that is that he sometimes acts before he thinks. He's a passionate man and the idea of a gorgeous broad-shouldered vicar on a motorcycle is fantastic. Even though he's bound to the church he doesn't constantly preach his faith. The story focuses more on the consequences of his job. I liked that angle very much.

Sarah and Nick are both wonderful people. I loved the way they are together and that made me fall in love with this story as soon as I started to read it. Wendy Lou Jones is a very good writer. She uses beautiful words and she creates a cozy and warm atmosphere with both the words she chooses and the way she uses them. The story has a lovely flow. I know from her other books that Wendy Lou Jones's stories always are surprising. In this book there's an unpredictable development as well. This unexpected turn of events fascinated me and I had no idea how the story would end. I couldn't put the book down until I knew. Everything in this novel is exactly as it should be and I enjoyed reading it very much. I highly recommend any of Wendy Lou Jones's books.

Sarah has always put others before herself. This leaves her divorced with two grown up children. She decides to move to a small town called Lower Nutton. Since she is now on her own she needs to find a job so she can take care of herself. Sarah finds her job with Maggie. An older lady who is wheelchair-bound. Even though they are completely different they form a strong bond straight away.

Nick is the local vicar. He is gorgeous and rides a motorcycle. Every single woman in their small town has tried to find a way to his heart, but he has never been tempted to date any of them. Because of that there are a lot of rumors about him. When he meets Sarah things change though. Nick and Sarah are two completely different people and because he is a vicar a divorced woman isn't a perfect match. They always say opposites attract. Will love be able to connect them?

Finding Sarah is a book that really warmed my heart. I loved Sarah. She is such a sweetheart. I was cheering for her to find her voice and to be confident in her choices and in her own abilities. She thinks that she isn't good enough for Nick, but being the kind person she is he couldn’t find anyone better even if he tried. Nick is very passionate and this sometimes gets in the way of his judgment.

This is a quote I really loved:

"I have loved you since the moment I met you. I have seen all the arrows that life has thrown at you and you have taken them all. You have spent your time caring for others and taken nothing for yourself. I want to be the one to care for you. I love you and it doesn't matter to me what more life may throw at you, because I promise to be by your side in all things."

Wendy Lou Jones really knows how to tell a story. I felt the emotions she was describing and she had me in tears near the end of the book. She always finds a way to surprise you and keep you interested. There are many love stories out there, but this one is really special, Finding Sarah is refreshing and different.

A couple of years ago I read ‘By My Side’, which I really enjoyed, it was beautifully written and incredibly romantic, so expectations were high for this book, and it is precisely that.

Wendy creates a lovely setting in Lower Nutton and it’s surrounding areas around Nutt Hill, you can imagine all the beautiful and picturesque scenery everywhere you look. The sense of community is captured well here, in both the welcoming kind like Maggie shows, and the way that if you’re from the outside, you can sometimes feel isolated from people who are set in their ways.

If the book hadn’t mentioned digital cameras, I wouldn’t have guessed it was based any later than 90’s. This is mainly because of Sarah, and her ways, which seem very traditional, and a few things when technology would have helped massively, a quick text can go a long way sometimes, even if you don’t want to type an essay.

Sarah is generally lovely. She lacks confidence after splitting from her husband, but thanks to her new found independence, and friendship with her employer Maggie, she begins to believe in herself again, and it was really heart warming to see this. However there seems to always be something to knock her down again in finding true happiness, and towards the end, it was more her own self and values that stopped her, and in my view I think they were quite old fashioned, I know she was almost 10 years older than me, so it might be an age thing (though late 39ish isn’t old by any means), but, while it was an issue that needed to be dealt, I don’t think it would stop me trying to be happy, and I would certainly confide. She was taking a step back in confidence, and it was heart-wrenching to see.

Nick was adorable most the time, well, no one is perfect, and it’s great to see that both characters were flawed, and to see the characters try to work it out. A while ago, I would have considered vicars to be very serious people, and a bit intimidating, as I don’t necessarily share the same beliefs, so worry they would frown upon me, but meeting some in real life outside of church, they really are just ‘normal people’, which sounds stupid, of course they are, but my previous perception was obviously very wrong, and I’m glad I learned otherwise. Wendy gets this across really well, you really feel like he takes his job seriously, but can have a laugh and be a great friend to anyone.

I absolutely adored Maggie, she had a great sense of humour, and I loved how friendly and welcoming she was to Sarah. I was less keen on Sarah's friend Louise at the start of the book, she seemed really quite negative. She may have been trying to think what was best for Sarah, of course she wouldn't want Sarah to get hurt, but it came across to me as slightly mean. Why shouldn't Sarah try to find happiness with another man, she's not even 40, and it's not as if the break-up with her ex-hubby happened last week, or was it remotely her fault! Yes, Sarah may have been naive in marrying her first husband, but she wasn't even 20 then, now she has age and experience on her side, so she can get a feel on whether Nick is any good before putting her heart fully on the line. Louise didn't seem to get this, as I said it was probably her thinking she knew best, and had good intentions, but she wasn't necessarily what I would class as being encouraging or supporting Sarah at the start of the book, just as she has a chance to find love again.

Overall this book is definitely one to check out, along with any sequels in the ‘Echoes of Nutt Hill’. It’s romantic and charming, it’s the perfect book to relax with on a nice sunday afternoon.

Review:
A moving story of love, loss, obligation and growth. The author captures a beautiful story with amazing detail to places you visit in a small town. Plot Sarah has relocated to the country after her husband leaves her for another woman. The home that she raised her family in is sold and now she is left to rebuild her life alone. Taking a position as a companion to a wealthy woman, Sarah finds friendship with a hopeless romantic, who pushes her to open her heart once again. When she does it sets her up to scorn and ridicule from the close minded pompous women of the parish. Just when things start to settle down. Tragedy strikes her family, and Sarah forgoes her own happiness to do what she feels is the right thing. The chemistry in this story is powerful and sweet as this couple holds back from their passions. This is a very evenly paced story with detail given to every aspect of the story in a meaningful way. Unlike some authors the descriptiveness compliments the story instead of becoming the story. I love a good HEA and this book hit the 5 star mark for me. Watching Sarah grow into a strong confident woman makes this book worth reading.

If you like realistic, often surprising, unique women’s fiction, then ‘Finding Sarah’ is for you. Sarah’s reasons for moving to Nutt Hill are not what I originally thought and the twists keep on coming, as her story progresses.
Sarah is a lovely woman, although her lack of self belief is frustrating. The reasons for this are not immediately self evident but when they are revealed, you understand why she doubts herself. Sarah’s emotional past makes a simple romance unlikely, her children, although adult, still need her and are judgemental when she falls off the pedestal they’ve put her on. This coupled with the shadow of her past love, makes her new life complex and angst ridden right to the end.
Nick is not your typical vicar, or maybe he is? Nick blows away any preconceptions you have about country vicars. His flaws don’t dim his likeability and his attraction to and eventual love for Sarah makes him a keeper.
The village characters are vivid and recognisable. I especially liked Maggie, who is the archetypical fairy godmother, essential for romance to survive. The expert inquisitiveness, only found in small communities, punctuates Nutt Hill’s tranquillity. Some gossips are kindly but there are some with darker motives and these threaten Nick and Sarah’s happiness.
‘Finding Sarah’ is a delicious slice of village life, full of heartache, romance and the best and worst of human emotions. I’m looking forward to reading ‘Sun on Sunday’ and ‘Chances Are’, the next two books in the series.

I received this book for an honest review.

What a wonderful and refreshing book. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this book as I have never read this author previously, but I was pleasantly surprised and will probably read any other book she writes.

Sarah is a divorced 38 year old mother who finds herself having to start over again after her husband sells their house form under her. With the help of her two sons she finds a small cottage in a quiet village and tries to begin again. Sarah realizes what she needs to do to get on with her life but it is hard when the only life you have known is gone and the insecurities you carry with you are only magnified by your recent divorce. So Sarah tries to find herself.
She takes a position as a personal assistant and begins to get her small cottage fixed. While she is doing this she sees a man who intrigues her but she does now know who he is. She is drawn to him but is unsure why.
Nick is the town vicar and he lives a very closed off life. he was hurt before and is protecting himself against ever being hurt again. He too spots Sarah and is drawn to her.
This story follows their romance and the many ups and downs that occur when you have two people who have both been hurt and have insecurities that play out every time something happens they weren't expecting.
Just when Sarah feels her life is getting back on track and she has Nick her ex-husband comes back into the picture and she is once again torn with allegiance to him. Can Nick and she survive her obligation to her ex-husband?
This is a wonderful refreshing book.

Finding Sarah is a book that really warmed my heart. I loved Sarah and I was cheering for her to find her voice, to be confident in her choices and abilities. Sarah has never put herself first. She always put her sons and ex husband ahead of everything which leaves her divorced with 2 grown sons. Her home is sold out from under her so she had to move to a small cottage. Sarah has to find a job because she is running out of money. Maggie, an older lady who is wheelchair-bound, hires her as her personal assistant and they form a strong bond straight away. Nick is gorgeous, rides a motorcycle, and is the local priest. Every single woman wants him but he has never dated any of them. When he meets Sarah things change though, they are two completely different people, and because he is a priest. A divorced woman isn't a perfect match. She thinks that she isn't good enough for Nick, but being the kind person she is he couldn’t find anyone better even if he tried. Nick is very passionate and this sometimes gets in the way of his judgment. Wendy Lou Jones really knows how to tell a story. I felt I was on an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to the end. Finding Sarah is refreshing and different.

Finding Sarah by Wendy Lou Jones is a beautifully woven novel. The story opens readers' hearts to more. Sure we all have had bad times and thought less of ourselves at certain points but that doesn't mean we're not worthy of love. Love, hope, and happiness are all themes found in this read. I was instantly moved and inspired by Wendy Lou Jones tale. Maybe there's hope after all.

Divorced and rebuilding her own life, Sarah moves to a small-town. Her two boys companying her as well. Here, she manages to find a job and a new friend. Sarah soon finds herself deeply attracted to the young vicar. A man who has no trouble attracting the ladies. However, none have ever caught his attention until now...Sarah. Sarah is the kind of woman everyone likes. She always but herself last. But time is changing and she must learn to put herself first. Finding Sarah is both a good romance and a perfect read for women everywhere. I loved watching Sarah as she found the courage and the strength in finding herself and love. Fate does funny things. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to all.

I really enjoyed reading Finding Sarah by Wendy Lou Jones. This is the first book I have read by this author and I will definitely be looking for more books by her. I liked Nick and Sarah's story. I really enjoyed their characters as well. Their chemistry was undeniable and jumped off the pages. I liked Sarah's integrity she was a very loving and giving character. Nick was very sweet and was quite understanding for the most part. I also enjoyed the secondary characters in the book. Especially Sarah's employer and confidant. Finding Sarah is full of wonderful characters and second chances. It reminds us that we may not always be lucky in love the first time but that there is still hope. I was very glad to "spend some time" in Nut Hill. Finding Sarah is an emotional read that is well worth the readers time. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance reads.

Found! Another great Author! Finding Sarah was so amazing! Loved Sarah and Nick! Sarah is only looking to move on and heal from her Divorce! But what she finds is a job, some great (but quite nosey) friends and a Town that knows everyone's business! But most of all she finds is Nick ! And that love is better the second time around! I even loved her scum bag ex husband! Towards the end when he redeems his self(sorta)! Very emotional read for sure! But felt it needed a More detailed epilogue! Needed more on Justin, more on both sons really, there was plenty on them untill towards the end, just seem to need more, can't say much without spoiling it ! But definitely still a five star read! First I've read of this author, looking forward to reading more! Was given an ARC for an honest review!

Finding Sarah. This book was interesting to me. Sarah was an older woman having to start a new life after her husband leaves her with nothing. She has 2 sons that helps her get started but she needs to find her way alone. Sarah finds a place to live and work that helps her move on. To her surprise she meets a younger man that fills her heart with love she didn't get from her husband. Nick and Sarah were ridiculed about their relationship at first but in the end was accepted. Sarah goes through so many challenges from her ex-husband, the townspeople, and even from her children. But Nick stands up for their love and takes Sarah as his wife and the mother of his soon coming baby. I received this book for an honest review.

I usually read crime fiction but fancied something gentler for a change and I'm very glad I added this to my kindle. Deeply romantic without being oversweet and with lovely characters I would be happy to have as neighbours. I would recommend this to my mum and my gran too, but maybe wouldn't say quite how attractive I found the hero. I would leave that as a surprise for them to make their own minds up.

I was starting to think that country life was being described in an over romantic way. But actually, we have ploughing contests and old tractor shows here, so she's got it absolutely right. Some parts of the country really are still like this.

Perfect for an early night. Enjoy!

This was a sweet, well-written book. Sarah needs to start over and buys a small cottage in a small village. She is recovering from a divorce and finds a job with the matriarch of the village, Maggie. Nick is the vicar of the village. He and Sarah find themselves attracted to each other, but there are obstacles in their path. I enjoyed that both characters learned to open themselves up to the possibilities, both had to overcome challenges and both experienced internal growth along the way. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Do you need a wonderful forever story? This is the one! Sarah had me crying throughout the story. I felt just like her approx 20 years ago when I was in an abusive marriage. She is so loving, caring and she will draw you right into this story. It has a very happy ending. Takes a lot to get to the happy ending but it all works out for the best. Nick is every woman's dream come true!

Just finished this book. I wanted to love it. I loved the characters and the setting. I found some parts to be a bit slow. However, the story was truly loving. The patience, forgiveness and love the characters had was heart warming. I will definitely read more from this author.

Sarah Hughes finds herself on her own after leaving her adulterous husband. She becomes involved with the local vicar. I didn't like the their relationship became intimate outside marriage. I also didn't like the profanity.

I don't recommend this book. I will not be reading any more of this author's books.

I won a copy. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

Gave up at 55% when Nick admitted to Sarah that he thought about walking away and leaving her ex-husband beat the crap out of her. My opinion only, Nick is a whiny coward and not someone Sarah needs in her life...not for me.
