Emily and Justin were high school sweethearts, and when Justin went to sow his wild oats in college, Emily waited, knowing he was the one. Now they are happily married, and Emily has never been with another man. A little shy, very traditional, and with a strict upbringing, she’s never even thought about another man. To grow their marriage they create a bucket list of experiences to share. Justin seeds the list with a few risqué ideas he hopes will add some spice to their staid physical relationship. Will the bucket list backfire, or introduce Emily to hidden desires? Follow Emily and Justin on their amazing journey, from a fantasy that is at first inconceivable, along a remarkably believable step by step path as Emily slowly realizes who she is, to a destination of utter transformation with a whole new world of realities. Excellent book in this genre. What truly resonated for me is the character of Emily. She reminds me so much of my own wife in her innocence and conservatism. She reacts to her progression is exactly the way my wife would. Definitely worth the read, I'm very much looking forward to part 2...
I started reading this series some time ago. I finished the latest release (Book 4 ) two weeks ago and have gone back to read the entire series. This is a really great story and Book 4 was a terrific conclusion. We are promised a free Epilogue to Book 4 to tie up a few loose ends (you will need to sign up for it); I can't wait to see if my thoughts about subtle passages are correct.
I usually don't read the Author's Notes at the beginning of books: in this case it was a mistake. The Author's Notes set out the premise for the book that is different than many books of this genre. I suggest you read it. It explains the reason for this book appearing to be slow in getting off the ground. I say appearing because this book thoughtfully and carefully builds the foundation for the character growth and exploits of the couple through the rest of the series.
Having completed reading the entire series in a two week period, the filling out of thoughts, ideas and questions beginning with this book make the whole story both interesting and compelling.
Emily, a naive young wife and a virgin on her wedding night, waited for her high school sweetheart through college (yes, she missed a lot of fun). Her husband, Justin, who has experience, wants to move beyond once weekly, missionary, with the lights out. They find an interesting way to work through a bucket list and Emily and Justin's education begins.
What is interesting is that, in my view, an end goal is subtly set out in this book and the exploits through the series result in Emily and Justine getting what they want/need. A question for me is, did Emily and Justin consciously think through how to achieve their goals, or was it their sixth sense or blind luck that got them through the minefield?
The sexual fun builds throughout this series, so don't expect fireworks early on. However, enjoy how it expands over time and appreciate the sexual and emotional development that supports the exciting finish.
Can we expect the Book 4 Epilogue soon; I really want to know if I got it right!!
Very good read and well edited. The authors warns the reader that this will be a very slow build up to hotwifing. It has to start from a spark...a thought. So if you are wanting more action than story and buildup, this may not be for you. This is the first of 3 (so far) in this series about how Emily, a very shy and sexually inexperienced wife, and her husband Justin grow and learn what they want and what they need in their relationship. Justin wants her to to experience what she may have missed in school and enjoy those new things together.
Two minor issues I had. One Justin's boss comes across pretty strong to Emily, and I wish that might have been toned down a hair...but not much.
I also wish there would have defined chapters. Though it's very clear due to spacing where the breaks are, it's something I missed.
Highly recommend to those who like a long read and want a good story.....but you'll have to keep reading the series.
Justin & Emily are a young married couple, Emily had a very sheltered upbringing and Justin is the only man she has ever slept with. In an effort to broaden her horizons and enjoy new experiences together they form the idea of a “bucket list” where they put ideas into a pot and then pull out a random idea to try. Slowly they try little things that lead to a gradual change in Emily, but each one is seen as a positive step especially by the husband Justin.
This is the first book I have read from this author and on the whole I found it quite an enjoyable read. The narration flits from husband to the third person, which was a bit off putting at first but it did allow the reader to have an insight to Emily’s feelings. This a pretty slow book as it starts at the very beginning of Emily’s slow awakening, it was perhaps a little tedious and ponderous at the start and anyone who is looking for a sexy read from the start or instant gratification will be disappointed. It attempted to explore the feelings and emotions Emily and Justin undergo as they try new experiences, but I felt it never really quite got there as it was trying to give both perspectives. After such a slow beginning I felt the book had just started to get really interesting with Justin’s new black boss coming on the scene, but then the book came to an untimely end. Apparently there is a second book in the series which probably explains why the book ended at just the wrong time for the reader. There were a few minor typos, but nothing that spoiled the reading experience.
What a great book to introduce a vanilla wife to her husband's sexual mind!
This book speaks a lot to me because it deals with a loving couple where the husband tries to deal with a mismatched sexual drive with his beloved wife. It has a slow progression to make us understand how much shy is the wife and, as a correlate, how much the husband refrained his sexual desires out of respect for her wife's innocence. For me, I found Emily's path in discovering her sexual being to be not only erotic but also sensual and exciting. It is her self-realization of the power of her sexual mind to ignite physically her sexual being that I found passionate. Justin wanted his wife to open-up about their sexual life, but Emily truly found how her fantasies were powerful to ignite passion and desire in her own soul. It is a true path of self-discovery and ultimately Justin, her husband, who started the fire and is happy to be at her side along the ride, can't realize yet that he might have already lost control over his wife.
It does exactly what the author said was the purpose. It spine tinglingly describes how a woman comes to understand her sexuality and desire to have sex with a man, probably black, not her husband. Also how she understands that her husband is also turned on by the idea, even if he hasn’t admitted it to her yet.
The excitement of following their story is always there. And yet the sex is ever present throughout the story. Tension intermingled with the sex.
Who will give in first to their desires? In Book 2 does she give in to her desires and have sex with him while her husband is away? Or does he submit and ask to watch the two of them having sex.
It has to lead to his submission to watching them, but is that the first time or not? I have to quit and get Book 2.
A real introspective look at the reason for porn and why certain aspects of a scene are so stimulating to individuals and why taboo scenes are sought after!
The needs series are one of the best-written, most believable Hotwife fiction out there and is what got me hooked to the genre. Yes, it takes a while to get going but they invite you to get to know the characters, and maybe this is a personal thing, get to love them before you watch them do some very dirty things.
I like the deliberate slow pace, it just makes the later books in the series so much more believable.
With the Hotwife lifestyle coming into the mainstream slowly with TV shows like Sex Life, I'm hoping the number of quality authors would go up too!
The story revolves around Emma and James, two characters at a crossroads in their lives. Emma's got it all together except in the love department, while James is a charismatic but complicated dude with a messy romantic history. When these two collide, the attraction is off the charts, and things get hot and heavy real fast.
What I liked about this book is that it's unapologetically sexy. Quinn doesn't shy away from exploring the nitty-gritty of desire and intimacy. The steamy scenes are, well, steamy, and they're woven into the story in a way that feels real and passionate.
The characters are relatable, too. Emma and James have their quirks and insecurities, which makes them feel like genuine people rather than perfect romance novel archetypes. It's a story about two flawed individuals finding their way to each other and learning to trust again.
Quinn's writing style is engaging, and the pacing keeps things moving along nicely. The chemistry between the main characters practically leaps off the page.
In "Awakening Her Needs," you'll find a mix of heat, introspection, and personal growth. It's a romance that digs into the complexities of modern relationships, and it's got enough sizzle to keep you turning the pages.
Blaise and CC, you have to be superproud in no having succumbed to the dirty book ideas. I highly place you in this business, as hard as it is , to put you in a class by itself because you made it. You write ver to the point, it is the first x I have a book of yours hope not to be disappointed later, good job On the first
Nothing new in this novella. Husband persuaded sexually naive wife to want a black .man between her thighs. The black man of course is huge, dominating, and massively endowed! This is old Kyle Onstott stuff, in his "slave novels" Drum for example .
Emily is timid in the boudoir. Her husband Justin slowly introduces new ideas for their mutual enjoyment but he never imagined he would create a minx. One naughty video has her mind in the gutter, and she just can't help indulging her desire. Especially when she has a real-life target for her musings. Steamy AF series starter. I think I'll jump right to the end to see how much Emily lets down her hair and how Justin handles his wife's new attitude to intimacy.
Emily makes quite bold actions and thoughts for the modest and conservative image of a faithful wife, which the author described in the beginning. I may someday want to read the next part of the 4 books, although I can guess what will be written next. I need something hot right now.
Well reading for the second time and knowing the ending . How this very timmed wife so quiet, a turns into a very sensual wife and certainly finds what her needs are. Not going to spoil the ending certainly wouldn't want to play poker with her !!!!
