Book 5 of Charmed in Vegas is really wild! Paranormals are dropping and running around the like a tumbling feris wheel!
Adara is the daughter of a Fire Demon and a Nymph of Venus, she turns out to be quite a combination, an Empath with a little of both her parents. But she has always tried to remain a shadow of her mother, after all she believes she could never compete with her beauty and being an Empath has never been able to have a normal relationship. She avoids them at all costs, she has a crush on a very handsome hunk who works at the Poseidon's Palace Casino with her, but only throws him a wave and a little smile everytime he passes by her table and looks at her.
Kai Moana son of a human and an Oceanic demigod has been banished to the very dry Las Vegas as punishment for a transgression he commited in Hawaii, he is now a Paranormal house detective at Poseidon's Place Casino. He misses his home terribly being a water demigod, but the gorgous BBW croupier has him dreaming everyday. He dares not approach her for fear that a beuty like her would never set eyes on him, but a smile a day keeps him going back for more.
Fire and water are put together to try and solve the craziness going on in the casino and sparks and showers start all over the place. Can these 2 opposites come together without clashing?
I absolutely could not stop laughing and especially with one line that the Fire Demon say's to his wife the Nymph of Venus, I will never forget it! I still start to laugh just thinking about it, but you'll have to read the story yourself because I'm not going to tell! It is a masterpeice Ms. Leon....LoL

I really enjoyed this edition to the Charmed in Vegas series. Kai and Adara work in a casino. They have special skills that help deal with the paranormals that frequent the establishment. When dead bodies are discovered at the casino it is up to them to solve the crime and stay alive.
Adara has always wanted to fall in love but her abilities make relationships difficult. Kai has not had good romantic experiences and it is the reason he is at the casino instead of at his home. These two make a very interesting couple. They have watched each other for months and working together on the murders brings them together.
There is lots of action as these two work to discover who is killing the guests. It gets very personal and dangerous for them.
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Each of the stories in the series is a standalone so you can read them in any order.

I have just finished this book and I have to say I loved it, there was something so enchanting about the his book.
A fire elemental and a water elemental, who would have thought it would work but he'll yeah it works....with lots of Steam!!!
I really liked how you didn't just hear about the characters but you also got an insight into their pasts and their families, what makes them who they are.
I loved how Adara's charachter developed throughout the book, at the beginning she didn't really take chances and always tried to stay in the background but throughout the book she opens up and becomes more confident, imo meeting kai was a brilliant thing for her. He is warm hearted, compassionate and protective and they are simply meant to be.
I loved this whole book, it had me hooked from word go and I found myself obsessively turning pages to find out what happened next.
A serious must read, this series is awesome, loved it!!!!!!

What could possibly go wrong when a fire elemental meets a water elemental? I mean, fire and water should surely mix, right? Kai works at the Poseidon casino as part of the security team monitoring for paranormal crimes. What he doesn’t know is that Adara, the woman he’s been watching is part of the same team. When someone turns up dead, their boss pushes them together to work the case. Adara finds her life lonely as an empath then one day, all signals are gone and she can’t hear anyone’s thoughts. At the same time dead bodies are piling up which means she has to work with the sexy Kai that she’s been eyeballing. Can these two find a common ground to realize something bigger is happening to them? Or will they fall into the killers path? I was given a copy for an honest review.

In Wildcards Adara and Kai are PHDs, that is Paranormal House Detectives for a casino. When an occult organization has a trade show at their casino and there is a murder under odd circumstances they are tasked with finding the killer. As they use all of their resources in their hunt they also have to dance around their electric attraction to each other.
Adara has always compared herself to her mother, a beautiful flirty woman, and finds herself wanting. Then her empathetic ability makes her further self conscious, but she's never been able to read Kai. Will they find the murderer, before they find themselves in the crosshairs? Will they explore their attraction?

Again the Vegas series brings adventure with that touch of suspense and drama, our main characters are that little bit shy but love to get there jobs done even if it means they have to work together, so finding out there lusting for each other is so much more a bonus. I really enjoyed this story and would definitely recommend them.

I've been following this series from the beginning and this book did not disappoint! I loved Adara and Kai, they were wonderful together. This book really got into their past histories and the intrigue was great. So, along with a great story, we got some funny parts and some sexy time. Definitely a good addition to this series.

Being the daughter of a fire demon and a nymph of Venus makes Adara special but when her job requires her to team up with Kai who is the son of a water demi-god and a human that could be trouble because fire and water just don't mix. Now they have to find a killer in the casino before someone else gets killed.

I found this book in my inbox from 2016 and decided to open it up to read. Very quick afternoon distraction. Adara and Kai were likeable, but insecure characters. Their story focused more on the fact they were "halfings" and them not quite fitting in. Lots of insecurity issues going on. But they overcome all obsticles and find their HEA.

Adara Torris is an Empathic or Soul scanner and a firebrand in the pit near the roulette wheel at the Poseidon Palace Casino and resort where she works she knows something is not right she has had a bad feeling because she has not been able to get a reading on anybody today and she feels that something is up and it isn't good she goes to the lounge and she looks at herself in the mirror and she looks alright except for the red blotch on her throat she thinks from a bug bite other wise she looks completely average she dials her mother Grace who happens to be a love nymph a devoted disciple of Venus she prays that Adara will find true love it hasn't worked yet she explains to her mom that she hasn't been able to use her talent today and she cannot figure out what is happening with her, she thinks it could be her demon half which is on her father Aldan's side he being a devil they want to come visit but she refuses because she is busy. Mean while Head of Security Kai Moana worked the night shift he knew when he got up that something was wrong because the water in his glass on the night stand was jumping up and down he receives a call from his boss Roy who tells him that a homicide has occurred between twin brothers the living one has run away and Roy wants Kai on the job ASAP and he tells Kai that their is another Paranormal House Detective on the job they need to work together, this blows Kai's mind because he thought he was the only one when he finds out that it is Adara he is thrilled but upset at the same time because he has always been interested in her but didn't want to get involved because of why he is in Vegas in the first place. He had to much trouble on his plate to get involved because he wants to leave first chance he gets but he tells Roy he is on the way. He doesn't want to work with a partner when it is easier to get the investigation done on his own. This is a romantic suspense with lots of weird shenanigans going on from all sides. Good read. Everything about him called to her soul. Some fires are meant to burn steady. She was in for one hell of a day. What a WATERRIFIC story and perfect addition to this VEGASTACULAR series!! It truly is FINTASTIC! This is one MONUELEMENTAL story that is stuffed full with magic, romance, naughtiness, paranormals of all kinds, humor, family, bad guys, mysteries, secrets, powers and believe it or not, but there is so much more that I DIDN'T mention!! Once I started it I couldn’t put it down! So many reasons to love this story, so many parts I want to share that I loved for one reason or another, but I REFUSE to give anything away! This is a Spoiler-Free Zone! Suffice it to say that I EMPATH-ATICALLY LOVE IT!! I was actually very intrigued with how unique, creative and just how much this one stands out from the crowd! The paranormals are so original! I sincerely hope that Kat has plans to turn this into a series of her own because it is so FLIPPERRIFIC! And because I want to stay, play, live & love in this world for as long as PAWSSIBLE! I have read a few of Katalina's books and have loved every single one regardless the story length, the genre, light vs darker tone, no matter what - they are ALL KATACULAR!! It is safe to say that I fall harder and more in love with Katalina with every story of hers I read! She is one very phenomenal author! Add in my EXTREME love for Michelle, how phenomenally talented she is, and yup! I fall more in love with her with every single story I read that she has written, co-written, created, and well, ANY story that she has ANYTHING to do with! Adara is part empath and part fire demon. On this particular day her empathic abilities are on the fritz. This has never happened before and Adara is unsure how to handle it. Usually the only ones she can't read are supernatural beings or demigods.
Kai has been banished to Vegas for a transgression committed in his South Pacific home. Being this far from his ocean home is torture in every way. His job as an in-house security detective is really a glorified bouncer position.
When a murder is committed at the Poseidon, Adara and Kai are thrown together to find out whether what was going on involved supernatural beings. Humans are not aware of the existence of supernaturals in Vegas and might not be able to bring such beings to justice.
Kai prefers to work alone and feels that Adara will be a personal distraction, and he sure hopes she can't read how he really feels about her. Adara is not sure why she suddenly cannot read humans, but she is not about to be left out of this investigation. When another murder is discovered and an attempt is made on Adara's life, Kai and Adara have their hands full. Their growing attraction is not helping their investigation, and Adara is worried that there is a magical element driving their feelings. Now I know why they say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. There's an awful lot going on there in Vegas, things nobody knows about it. Ms. Kataline and Ms. Fox made the story line, leaving nothing out of this murder mystery, as you fly smoothly through the pages. Yes, this is a book well worth reading, though it's stand-alone you should read the whole series. BUT I must say be prepared for the magical ride in Las Vegas.
Kai Moana is the son of an Ocean demigod. This bad boy hunk who has gotten himself banished to Vegas to do his penance . Lol what a punishment sending a water demigod to the desert. Landing him with a job as an in house detective at the Poseidon’s Palace Casino and Resort. Waking up Kai realizes something is wrong, very wrong but what? His boss Roy wants him to work hand and hand with an empath but he knows that her little smile she has will get him every time and by Poseidon he wanted that smile..

Now I know why they say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. There's an awful lot going on there in Vegas, things nobody knows about it. Ms. Kataline and Ms. Fox made the story line, leaving nothing out of this murder mystery, as you fly smoothly through the pages. Yes, this is a book well worth reading, though it's stand-alone you should read the whole series. BUT I must say be prepared for the magical ride in Las Vegas.
Kai Moana is the son of an Ocean demigod. This bad boy hunk who has gotten himself banished to Vegas to do his penance . Lol what a punishment sending a water demigod to the desert. Landing him with a job as an in house detective at the Poseidon’s Palace Casino and Resort. Waking up Kai realizes something is wrong, very wrong but what? His boss Roy wants him to work hand and hand with an empath but he knows that her little smile she has will get him every time and by Poseidon he wanted that smile..
Adara Torris aka Sparky is the daughter of a Nymph of Venus and a Fire Demon, yes quite a pair they made they're love was beyond anything Adara could hope for. Working at Poseidon’s Palace Casino and Resort, for the last few years as a croupier, plus she was empath making sure everyone was playing for fun and not robbing the casino. Loving her job but something is wrong she can feel it, than she lost her powers, now she know something is wrong. Her boss Roy is making her work together with Kai. Yep things were happening and they needed to figure it out, at the same time he needed to protect Adara. Do you think the demigod can? I was gifted this book for an honest and truthful review.

But her career as a professional empath is lonely, affecting her personal life - there were no surprises, no mystery and little trust. Worst of all she has never been in love. Adara’s Dad has an overprotective attitude and this is another reason she is still single and seldom dates. Kai is the mortal son of one of Oceania’s major Gods, but his high-profile misdemeanor gets him exiled to Las Vegas, where he is currently employed as an in-house detective. Working the night shift, Kai didn’t have much of a personal life and though Adara has caught his eye in the past, he has never asked her out, though he often puzzled over why he was so attracted to her. When Kai recognises the signs of an elemental disturbance, and Adara loses her empathic skills, it becomes clear someone has activated a dark juju. Murders are rife and Adara and Kai are brought together to investigate. Strange goings on are encountered at an Occult Arts Convention, but it seems these are merely a distraction. A skinwalker, those who taint the soul, targets Adara and being part human and supernatural makes her vulnerable on two fronts. Lupe Castaneda has spent half her life searching for a matched pair of elementals, hoping to harness their power, but her business partner, Yuri, is only interested in revenge for Kai’s past actions. Adara and Kai are elemental opposites in every way, but is their overwhelming attraction natural, or the result of a boon? A very interesting and compelling read, which I thoroughly enjoyed and would have no hesitation in recommending. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book by Katalina and Michelle has elementals as the paranormal main characters and boy do fire and water mix well together to create some steam! Adara is the Poseidon's Palace empathic shy croupier while Kai is the hot paranormal security detective for the hotel. After a strange murder and mystical goings on in the hotel, Adara and Kai must work together to solve the case before the human world becomes aware of the magic surrounding Vegas and the Poseidon. It really is about opposites attracting and with a little push from a fairy godmother and the dirty dealings of another mystical creature, Kai and Adara are hopelessly thrown into a game of cat and mouse where Kai must protect Adara from the dangers at play.
The characters in this book work really well and Adara's parents are just a great comedic pair that enhance the story and their characters explain why shy little Adara has such a hard time in her world inside everyone's heads. Kai is paying penance as a water element for a mis-use of his powers and so a miserable water element in the dried heat of the desert, finds happiness in the arms of a red hot, fiery firebrand who happens to challenge him in his own thoughts.
This one is a page turner and with twists and turns at every angle, it keeps you on the edge of your seat while trying to solve the mystery in time before anyone else, including Adara gets hurt. I loved the fact that Katalina and Michelle chose to end the book how they did....it wraps up the book nicely and gives a great HEA.
Another book not to be missed in the Charmed in Vegas series.

An Enchanting story of Magick and passion!!

Wild Cards is probably the best of the CiV series thus far. Of course we’ve got some crazy paranormal action going on in Vegas. This time our main characters are two elementals. A water elemental, Kai, who’s been banished to Vegas to work off a bad deed he’s super embarrassed to have done. The woman who intrigues him, Adara, is a fire elemental and an empath who has been unlucky at love because she always knows what her partner’s true thoughts are. Both work security at a casino, and have been paired together to solve a murder… or murders as their case progresses. While they work, they’re drawn further into each other in a more intimate way. But can fire and water mix?
I like this story the most so far because it seems to be the most “complete” story. There is a lot of details and background information provided, so the “world” seems more concrete. And although the main characters are thrown together in an intense situation for about the length of 24-hours, I didn’t feel the “insta-love” problem of a lot of PNR stories. They actually shared many flirtatious moments prior to this story, but are brought into a situation where they can (and do) act on their desires. And although this seems like a trivial pro, the cover of the book actually matches the descriptions of the characters. It really bothers me when a character is described in a way that doesn’t match the book’s cover (lol). Wild Cards is an excellent read and a great fit for the overall series.

But he messed up and is embarrassed to try a relationship just yet. But he swears to himself that he will take her out before his time is up in vegas.
Adara is a daughter of venus and a fire elemental,but she is more she is a full empath. She is targeted by a skinwalker. She works on the floor of the casino as a Croupier, and is a key security patrol for the casino. Kia and Adara work in the same division but they just don't know it,until Roy teams them up and throws them together. Forcing them to acknowledge more than the work skills of the other and that the attraction they feel is overwhelming, but is it real or apart of the craziness of the current events surrounding them? When Kia's past comes to collect, can he keep Adara alive long enough to claim her as his match? can Fire and water mix for all eternity?

oh how i loved these two! kao gets sent to the dessert to work as PHD, paranormal house detective, in a las vegas casino. when there is a murder, he's one of the first called in to look at the situation. what he didn't expect to happen was being paired up with the cute redhead he had his eye on since arriving at the casino. as it turns out, adara, is part elemental, just like himself. only he's water and she is fire. things between them sizzle from the get go but their focus has to stay on the case at hand, trying to outsmart the police and try and find the killer before the real cops do because of one thing everyone is sure: it's not a human doing the killing.
as kao and adara are ordered to go undercover as a couple, the murder investigation is going bumpy and when another person ends up dead, it gets even more difficult to find clues. but working together does something to both adara and kao and though both are convinced that being of opposite element, this may just be the key for them them to make it work as they figure out clue after clue.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Two guests check in, one ends up dead and the other on the run. It is up to PHD's (Private House Detectives) Kai Moana and Adara Torris to solve the crime. Kai is an Oceanic demigod, while Adara is the daughter of a nymph of Venus and a firebrand. Adara has the abilities of an empath and uses it to monitor the clientele to sort of the bad seeds and riff raff. Kai deals with monitoring the supernatural clientele that frequent the Poseidon's Palace Casino. His exact job description is not known among the other employees, so Kai works the night shift and doesn't socialize with many people. Adara and Kai are put together to solve the murder, then find the shooter, then go undercover to gather more information. They meet Adara's parents along the investigation, find the shooter, then get in a bit of trouble. Also, along the way a budding romance begins between the two, they've noticed each other for awhile but neither has made a move. But, Adara is granted a boon from her fairy godmother and isn't sure if its a real attraction between she and Kai. Lots and lots of action going on, you know why? It's Vegas!! It starts out as a murder mystery and then becomes much more.

Kai Moana is a Kahuna or oceanic demi-god, currently on punishment detail in dry, arid Vegas. When he let his jealousy override his common-sense when dealing with his ex-girlfriends bad behaviour, his elders took a dim view. He is banished from all things oceanic until further notice. Now working as a house Detective at the Posiedon casino, he has been eyeing the lovely Adara from afar.
Adara is the daughter of a love nymph and a fire demon - an explosive combination! She's used to fading into the background. She uses her empathic powers to weed out the cheats and bad apples. BUt when her extra senses go on the blink, she has to rely on her intuitive mind and the help of a certain sex-on-legs hottie to help.
Murders, hexed food and gruesome deaths begin to take their toll and after a a gruelling night Kai and Adara find more than the bad guys - they are mates!!
Kai is wonderful as the remorseful but still passionate demi-god and Adara is the epitome of Ms Invisible to all but her mate. Adara's parents are an absolute hoot. With the appearance of an actual, live, fairy godmother she has more than a few secrets to ferret out from the parental units!

I received this book for an honest review. The Charmed in Vegas series books have each dealt with different forms of paranormal and Wild Cards introduced me to some I had not heard of before.
Adara has been working for the Poseidon Palace and Casino for a few years. Her gift of empathy allows her to tap into people's minds and has been helpful with catching criminals and preventing trouble from getting started. She also has the traits of a Firebrand elemental.
Kai has been banished to work in the desert of Vegas for having abused his water element after the girl who he thought he loved, dumped him. He has joined the security team at the Poseidon and has been intrigued with Adara since he first saw her but thought she was human and he knew that it would not work between them.
When a murder happens on the eve of the occult arts convention, Kai and Adara are teamed together to get to the bottom of it. When a second murder is committed they are put undercover at the convention as a couple who's abilities are up for hire.
This book is a must read for all paranormal suspense/romance lovers. It is filled with murder, intrigue, awakenings and romance. I highly recommend it.

Wow! Best word to describe this book. Have fun figuring out the bad guys from the good guys, the normal form the paranormal, human actions from magic.
Adara has watched Kai from afar, and likewise although neither was aware if the others interest. They both work security in their own fashion for a special casino in Vegas. Once very unusual murders start happening they are assigned as an undercover couple. Maybe someone should have explained they didn't say under covers. And it might have been better if the perp didn't turn on Adara as the next target.
This is fast paced, lots of clues, but hard to figure out the bad guys. The lovers have a hard time finding time for their hopeful romance and keeping her alive. My only consulation was that I knew it was a romance. They have to end in a HEA—don't they? I kept hoping. You will have to read it to find out.
This is a great contribution to a wonderful series. Each book is unique, interesting and well done. Michelle Fox's collaboration with Ms Leon on this one is right up there near the top for me. This is the 5th Charmed in Vegas book and in my opinion the best !! Adora is half Venus Nymph and Half Fire Devil, she works as a paranormal house detective for the Poseidon Palace Hotel . Her job is to be unobtrusive and fade into the background while "listening " into what people are thinking. Kai Mamoa is also a PHD for the hotel, sent to Vegas by his "Uncles" ,Hawaiian water Gods, for misuse of his powers. A murder is committed in the hotel on the day Adara's powers seem to go on the fritz and she and Kai are teamed up to figure out what's going on as more bodies turn up. Does it have to do with Adara ? Kai? The Hotel ? Or the Occult Association having a meeting at the hotel ? All of the above ? Add in a Fae Godmother, who grants Adara a wish, her parents showing up and you have the funniest, sexiest, hottest, book in the series to date. This is the 2nd book by Katalina Leon I've read and it won't be the last !! Michelle Fox has brought together an amazing group of authors to write this series. 5☆'s for this book !! Can't wait to read more books in the Charmed in Vegas Series and more by Katalina Leon !!
