Once a respectable young governess, Louise Small tumbled from society’s grace after her employer forced himself on her. She wound up at The Red Petticoat playing Little Lapis Lazuli, a submissive who dresses like a girl and offers her bottom up for frequent spankings.
She enjoys her new identity, so far removed from the prim governess she’d been, but she longs for a real daddy—one who is kind and caring, yet willing to administer real discipline. When she spies Culpepper Cove's Mayor interacting with his young niece, she knows he's just the sort of man she wants. But his disdain for her and her profession put them in conflict.
Letting go of her little self, she reverts to the proper, fine-mannered governess to win his attention. But at what cost? With her little side squashed, and no hope of being accepted in polite society, she hardly knows who to be or what kind of life to lead. Is being the Mayor's wife be enough?

I'm disappointed. I'm good with DD/LG romances and I picked this up because of its blurb. Though i knew she wasn't a V, she continues to have sex with other men despite meeting the hero(her profession I know) and he keeps being embarrassed of her and her job. Nothing clicked with me.
The reason it gets 3 stars is because of the hot sex scenes. Other than that, not my cup of tea.

This was really different than what I normal read I wasn’t expecting it to be so much about playing a little girl. I really did not care for the story line I just have a problem with grown men wanting to have relations with a child even if it is a women dressed up like a little child. For the most part if you over look the child issue the story wasn’t bad and was well written. Since I did not care for the story I mostly put my focus on the narrator.
I have listened to one other audio from Ms. Kelly I really wanted to listen to more of her work to see how it compared. I thought her narration in this audio was really good she really puts emotion into the listen. Her voices fit the characters giving power to the males, and soft and sexy to the female as well as her child like voices were just darling. There was no place where the volume was higher or lower than any other place in the audio. If breaks were taken you could not tell. Her voice was very clear you had no trouble knowing who was talking and just what they are feeling. I could really feel the emotions in her voice whether sad, happy or angry. I thought she brought a lot to this audio. I opinion is she makes it worth listening to. I look forward to listening to more from her in the near future.
I understand this is a fantasy story I just had some trouble with this story line. I have a hard time believing anyone would enjoy being a prostitute especially is someone had been sexual assaulted and had to turn to it to make a living having sex with so many men I doubt very much if anyone would have enjoyed it. I also have trouble with women running around outside dressed as she did. Maybe I am wrong but I thought they dress with little more clothes on when going out in this time area.
I did enjoy how she went to help his niece and showed herself as the fine lady she was before prostitution. She was a very strong lady who had no trouble standing up for herself.. I enjoyed the baiting back and toward between her and Will. I still have major issues with any man wanting a woman who looks like a little girl so the sex scenes for me just didn’t work. I also have a problem with prostitution being charming with all the wild carrying on in a mine town. I thought how the author wrote about the town it’s self was realistic with the harshness and violent found there. For me most of this story was a big turn off. I know with an audio there is more to it than just the story you must also review the narrator for me the narrator made this worth listening to. If you enjoy this kind of read this is a narrator you do not want to miss she really bring the story life in details that you can picture the scenes in your mind. I feel sure there will be people who will not only love the narrator but the story as well. Please do not let my review turn you away from the story this is just my thought and feelings.
HIS LITTLE LAPIS is absolutely delicious! And swooningly sexy. And so endearing my heart is still fluttering wildly in my chest!!! Each book in the Red Petticoat Saloon collection tells a unique story of a different woman, "a gem," who comes to the saloon to find a safe haven and discovers they become part of a family. This is the third book in the multi-author series but even though I did not read the first two installments, I was not lost at all and can personally attest to the fact that it works as a standalone!
USA Today bestselling author Renee Rose always raises the bar with all her erotic romances, adds that special “razzle dazzle” that enamors fans, and this tasty morsel is no exception! I have always had an affinity for sultry romances set in the Old West, with strong, rugged men and the spirited little ladies who love them, but this is far from your typical erotica! This book is really special and unique and puts a fascinating twist on the Age Play dynamic.
HIS LITTLE LAPIS spins the tale of forbidden love between Will Rockwell, the dashing mayor of Culpepper Cove, and Louise Small (AKA Little Lapis Lazuli), a former governess turned prostitute who now works at the Red Petticoat Saloon. The “upstanding gentleman” and the “soiled dove” harbor an instant attraction that is sweet, intoxicating and highly risque. At first, the upstanding mayor feigns polite indifference toward the beautiful, blue eyed Gem when he runs into her at the bank. After all he couldn’t very well associate with a lady of the night who traipses around town dressed as—of all things!—a little girl. But his darling little niece, who is temporarily in his care, forges an immediate connection with her. And there is no denying the burning lust that courses through him as he stares down into Lapis’s beautiful angelic face as she holds her head high amidst public scorn and ridicule. He sees the real womanchild underneath the frilly dresses and pigtails. He sees the hope and longing shining in her gaze and it tears at his heart. Furthermore, her strong desire to obey and please arouses a primal desire to shield her from shame and derision, to soothe away her troubles, have her bend to his will in naughty, deliciously depraved ways.
But he knows surrendering to temptation is highly inappropriate and could destroy his pristine reputation, and political aspirations, so he stiffens his resolve and tells the fetching Lulu in no uncertain terms that she is to steer clear of him and especially his niece. But seeing him being so gentle and doting with adorable little Polly is fodder for her fantasies and she hatches a naughty scheme to get close to the Mayor. Naturally, Will is fit to be tied when he catches her IN HIS HOME, cozying up to his niece, after he strictly forbade it. She runs off and he gives chase. Before they know it, a stern chastisement for defying him leads to an explosive night of passion!
Afterwards, he tries to keep his distance, but when a vile encounter with a smarmy “john” leaves her in dire straits, he rushes to her side to comfort and cradle, kiss and soothe all her hurt away. Then caving to his base impulses, he tosses his Lapis over his shoulder, wisks her off to his homestead and stakes his claim on her! But how in tarnation can they make a marriage work? Who would accept a mayor with a bride he'd carried off from a house of ill repute? She would be a social pariah. An outcast. Subject to even more ridicule and scorn. How can he ask her to live that way? But how can he bear to live WITHOUT his precious china doll either?
Ahh...the conundrum!!
I thoroughly enjoyed HIS LITTLE LAPIS! I was hooked by this sweetly intoxicating romance from page one. There is wonderful character development, palpable romantic tension, an engaging, scintillating storyline, all set against a picturesque Wild West backdrop. Who could ask for anything more?? Oh did I mention the sex is off the charts? Like scorching, panty melting hot!! If tantalizing dom/sub scenes, sweet surrender, and steamy nights (inside the woodshed and out) are your kink, then you will go wild for this book!
The romantic chemistry between Mayor Will and Lapis is utterly irresistible! I also loved their interaction with little Polly and there is a lot of heart and sizzling heat and soul deep emotion at the core of their story. Ms. Rose excels at breathing life into her characters, giving them lovable quirks, aching vulnerabilities and multiple facets, and certainly rises to the occasion with this delightful romance!
Will is the type of hero that western romances are made of: Tall. Broad-shouldered. Darkly handsome. Strong and honorable. A consummate gentleman (well, except in the bedroom!) He is so swoony he turns your knees to jelly! Like his little Lulu, I was as drawn to his gentle loving nature as I was by his fiercely possessive, dominant side! He treats Lapis with such reverence and adoration, cherishes and nurtures her innocence and childlike wonder, and becomes everything she wants and needs--the commanding master, the stern yet doting “daddy,” the playful, attentive lover... And everything in between!
Lapis is an equally alluring heroine. She is so intriguing, multi faceted with many emotional layers. Quite a paradox. Even though she is a prostitute, she exudes a purity and childlike wonder and exuberance that is utterly bewitching. It’s no wonder that Mayor Rockwell cannot resist her charms. But they both grapple throughout to reconcile their wants and desires with how it conforms to the mores of society.
"It was a strange and bizarre life she led, this playing coquette, being the childlike submissive. On one hand, it fulfilled her more than anything before. It brought her peace to submit to a man—to relinquish all control. She found it completely freeing. On the other hand, she nearly always experienced moments like this of regret and shame over her behavior."
I was fascinated by the two different sides to her! Lapis Luzuli, a sultry, wide eyed prostitute with an affinity for play acting as a little girl , and prim and proper Louise Small, a respectable governess with a stiff upper lip and impeccable manners. It is heartbreaking that she was robbed of her innocence in such a cruel fashion, a moment that forever changed the course of her life. As such, Lapis struggles mightily between surrendering to her oh-so-naughty compulsions and her need for respectability. She yearns to reclaim he lost honor, but it’s not just about wanting her respectability back. It’s about wanting a man like Will. Which, of course, requires respectability! I also appreciated how despite his confusion about why she was the way she was , he never judges her for it. He loves her so completely and unconditionally he becomes the doting, kind, dominant master she desperately needs to satiate her deep seated desires. And that, in turn, fires his blood as well!
"Just looking at her beauty stole his breath. What man wouldn't want to protect her with every ounce of his strength? To cherish her, love her, pleasure her and yes… punish her. But only because she liked it. And so did he. "
Turns out that a “little” wife, was exactly what he'd been looking for all these years; he just hadn't known it until he met his beautiful china doll, his sweet angel, his precious little Lulu. She was perfect for him in all the ways that truly mattered!
And speaking of perfection, HIS LITTLE LAPIS is flawless in every way! So if you are looking for a highly addictive, scintillating page turner that will tug at your heartstrings while fulfilling your sinful fantasies, you don't want to pass this sparking gem up by the dazzlingly talented Renee Rose!
His Little Lapis is the third book in The Red Petticoat Saloon series. This one is penned by Renee Rose. In this book we meet Louise Small a former governess who is also a submissive. In Culpepper Cove, Louis assumes the identity of Little Lapis Lazuli as she works at the Red Petticoat Saloon. Despite her circumstances, Lapis remains trusting and innocent. This leaves her vulnerable. The male lead is William Rockwell, Culpepper's mayor. He is tall, handsome and very muscular. He is taking care of his niece, Polly, until his younger brother, Thomas, returns from a business trip. Fate brings these together in a chance meeting at the town's bank. Both are attracted to each other, but society's conventions make it difficult. She's a soiled dove and he's the mayor.
Rose penned a remarkable character-driven plot. These two lead characters have a definite chemistry between them. Rose's plot line is well thought out and allows readers to witness how they evolve. She uses dialog and a dual point of view to build a palpable romantic tension. Her descriptive language creates vivid pictures of landscape. She adds suspense to her plot with the introduction of the villain--Ernie Friedroom. Ernie is fascinated with Lapis and wants to possess her, however, his possession also includes a streak of meanness. He disappears from the story line and when least expected reappears to kidnap Lapis. Will the mayor be able to safe her? Will Lapis and the mayor find happiness? To discover the answers to these questions, you must read this book. You won't be disappointed!
I really enjoyed this story. After a series of unfortunate events former governess Louise becomes Lapis, one of the Gems at the Red Petticoat Saloon. She is a very unique gem though. She is not just Lapis, she is little Lapis. With her little girl dresses, hair, and attitude. At first the Mayor of Culpepper Cove is scandalized when he finds one of the gems with his niece but he soon discovers that she is something special and can't imagine life without her. I love how Will embraces Louise and all of her little quirks. He also encourages her with her books which is really sweet.
There were a couple little things that kept me from giving a higher rating though. I didn't really like the fact that Will was not in control of himself during the first spanking that he gives her. That is a little scary. That is a good way for someone to get truly hurt. The he spanks her right after she was beaten by a crazy man. Then after the fight with his brother he leaves her alone and with her heart shattered. Yes he was angry but she was the real victim there and he did not do his job as her husband or her daddy by leaving her like that.
This was a short quick read that I liked. This book reminded me of the old TV show "Gunsmoke" with sheriff Dillion and the Miss Kitty only this one was the mayor and the prostitute. Louise "Lapis" has been through a lot in her short life she was a while running to the bank in her getting change dressed as a little girl she sees the Mayor with his niece Polly and she knows he would make a good Daddy for her. Polly asked lots of questions like all little kids do, and he kept misdirecting her, away from Louise. Mayor William Rockwell was perfect for Louise he was dominant and passionate. Louise is strong and has been through a lot she use to work with kids as a governess until her reputation was ruined. This was a good read the sex scenes were hot along with the spankings. I love reading Ms. Rose's books they are always well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. This is a new series too me and I am looking forward to reading more books in it.
Louise Small has a liking for spankings, discipline, looking and acting like a child and calling her lover daddy. Thankfully Mister Mayor is up for all of those things. At least this book had a different theme to try to keep you entertained. Unfortunately all these books feel so similar...I believe this will be the last of these for me.
A soiled dove and the mayor. You wouldn't think the two would be the perfect match. But they are. Love is the key. Steamy as all get out. And little Polly is a joyful addition. One thing - What happened after he sent the letter to San Fran?
I don't often read this genre, but I enjoyed Renee Rose's Zandian books so I thought I'd try this, and it was very enjoyable. I especially liked the character development.
I do have to admit, I read this series out of order. I haven’t read the previous books in the series when I started this one, but I didn’t have any issues following along with the story at all.
My second thing to admit, I quickly grabbed this book because I have read Rose’s books in the past and enjoyed them – so I was a little bit shocked when I started reading it and realized that it was an age play book. With saying that, I do want to say that my rating has NOTHING to do with that because I did end up reading the blurb and it was completely up front in the blurb about it being an age play book.
Now, onto the review —
I did enjoy this story quite a bit! I enjoyed how it wasn’t just a clear cut romance story. There were times that I was left wondering what was going to come between the characters. Because it wasn’t a clear cut case. There was quite a bit of drama that was happening in the story that kept me turning the pages and reading more.
And of course, there was a bit of suspense that was going on that also peaked my interest.
Overall, I would say that if you enjoy a suspenseful age play story, then this is the book for you!

I NEED YOU AS MY WIFE. I DON’T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS Once again we are back in Culpepper Cove and the Red Petticoat Saloon. We met Little Lapis, who likes to dress like a young girl, and she loves to be taken in hand. Little Lapis has a sweet child-like innocence about her and what she craves the most to have a man be a daddy to her, giving her discipline, attention, and love. Mayor Will Rockwell is shocked when he sees her in the bank and then again later when she is talking to his niece, Polly. What starts out as a confrontation becomes a domination and then fascination, and before Will knows it, he is punishing her and then he nurtures her. Will discovers his need to protect and care for his little Lulu, and he wants to be her daddy, her lover, her husband and her master but can he convince her that she is worthy to be his wife and his little girl. The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning with mystery and suspense, a strong dominant man and a submissive little lady who bring out the best in each other.
Another amazing winner by Renee Rose and an added rare gem to The Red Petticoat Saloon collection. The storyline of Little Lapis and the tragedy she over came in her short life, showed high strength of character, will and intelligence. Even though there was a couple times I wanted to take a belt to her myself for her misguided thoughts about her own self worth. Will's character is a perfect balance of dominance. Smoothed around the edges by passion and lust filled restraint, that turns to full blown love shortly after meeting his little baby girl. Will was a quick study to Little Lapis's querk and the the results for both is heated, passionate, and love worthy. Renee weaves a vivid picture of the landscapes and characters surrounding Culpepper Cove, the miner town in California, that holds a color array of people that began in the imaginative mind of Maggie Ryan. This will have the readers hooked after reading the first few paragraphs. A highly recommended read. Look forward to reading the other books from the other author in The Red Petticoat Saloon series.
Another in the series, this time a DD/lg themes story. Louse Small/ Lapis Lazuli is rebuilding her live after getting #MeToo-d by her married boss whilst a governess to his children in San Francisco. She miscarries during her running away and stops in Culpepper Cove, and begins again as a soiled dove at the Red Petticoat.
Along comes the Mayor, who is temporary guardian for his niece, a lovely student for Ms Small.
She gets bratty sh, the mayor puts her over his knee, gets a liking for it and they marry.
But it doesn't start the HEA. Oh ne. When there's a Red Petticoat lady it's never a straight path. Trips, family feuding, falls, abductions and recriminations stand in Lulu's path...
Great little story. Lanugo seemed a bit too modern for historical western (Sarah McCarty has it down pat) but a good story nonetheless. 4 stars. Solid
This is the first book in the series written by a different author. I always enjoy this type of series because each brings their own unique spin to the world that was created. And it's even better when old characters are well represented along with new ones.
Lapis is already embracing her need to be her little self and and while she's been working as a red petticoat she still shows hurt and vulnerability. And it is clear that her care for the mayor's niece is worth risking his wrath to reach out to this child.
The mayor's reactions are natural from his first sighting of Little Lapis, his upset about his niece, and later as he learns Lapis' story and grows to care for her. You can also she is need to protect her as well.
His willingness to risk it all for whole love is heartwarming. This is a wonderful upstanding couple.
A spanking story that works because of its setting, the wild west town of Culpepper Cove, just as uncivilized as all mining towns in history. A former governess who is now a submissive whore falls for the mayor of the small town. He falls for her too, but he can’t be seen with a prostitute, right? He tries to repress his desire and of course fails miserably. What makes this story different is the addition of the mayor’s niece, a precocious child who tugs at the fallen woman’s heartstrings. On the sly she teaches her to read, mostly with a children’s book she wrote herself. This leads into situations that force the mayor to take a deeper look at this woman, after spanking and having sex with her, of course. All in all, a sweet little story in the setting of spanking, but ultimately not about it. 3.5 pushed up to 4/5
What a wonderful and uplifting book! This book is the third in the series and although it is written by a different author it does not disappoint and leaves you, the reader, feeling happy. The author does an amazing job with providing glimpses into the thoughts of both Louise (Lapis) and Will and how they both struggle with their feelings and desires. Although this story does not provide as much as an update on the cast of caring characters from the previous books, you still can feel the love and caring that Lapis has experienced with them. At times in this book I found myself with a huge smile on my face, some tears in my eyes and a feeling of contentment. This book is definitely one that you do not want to miss!
I loved reading His Little Lapis (The Red Petticoat Saloon), Louise Small is a young governess who finds herself at The Red Petticoat Saloon bleeding and in labor at six months, & Major William Rockwell has a run-in over her speaking with his niece Polly. You see Louise was at the bank getting change dressed as a little girl, in front of her was the major and his niece. She asked lots of questions to her Uncle Will, and he kept misdirecting her, away from Louise. The author wrote a very interesting story, and the characters made said story come to life! If you like things that make you wet while reading, take a chance and read this story! I was unable to put it down!
This new historical fiction series is very, very well-written with heroines we love, strong alphas who love to spank, and steamy scenes within well-developed plots. His Little Lapis is the first installment written by a different author and it seamlessly fits right into the on-going narrative.
The reader really feels for Louise who is at once very adult, educated, intelligent and also a little girl yearning for the comfort that only a Daddy can provide. Luckily for Little Lapis, the mayor is just such a nurturing dominant.
This book can be read by itself. This reviewer, however, recommends that you read the entire series (and prepare to change your panties often while reading it)!
A deep and emotional love story with a side of kink
What an amazing story! The plot was so thick and emotional that it wrapped itself around my brain and wouldn't let me go until it ended. I don't care for books with historical settings but I loved this one. The characters are bold and refreshing and completely likeable. The story has weight. Even if you took out the sex and spanking, but really why would you though, the story itself is strong, compelling and emotionally captivating. Buy this book! Renee Rose is an author you should be reading!
Another great addition to the Red Petticoat series, and another hit for Renee Rose!
I loved Louise (Lapiz). She was so sweet and smart and strong. I loved how she went to the Mayor's house to teach his niece how to read, even though she felt awkward about leaving her safe haven, and she did not have permission from him.
Will was wonderful, a well to do gentleman, and mayor of the town, who also decided to take Louise even though it could hurt him.
The age play was very sweet, and I enjoyed it immensely. And the spankings and sex were hot as always!
Audiobook review (narrator Meghan Kelly - 5 STARS)
Not my kind of thing! I was aware that this book would contain steamy sex scenes and I usually like that, but this one turned me of. I see it as a reverse mail-order-bride rather than an erotic romance. The storyline wasn't believable and the writing is low quality. The little girl/daddy thing - please..
Even that I didn't listen to the end, Meghan Kelly nailed it in her performance. She always does. So if you're into this kind of book, you probably won't regret it.
*This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.
Oh, I just wasn't ready for the book to end! A very touching story that's written so very well. You can't help but cheer on Louise and her story will really tug on your heart. Will was so perfect for her and together they were magical. You really don't want to miss this book, seriously. If you haven't read any of this wonderful series, then start with this one and then read the others. Quit reading here, click and buy and enjoy!
I just love this wonderful series and this third book by Renee Rose. The thoughts and emotions of the characters were so well written that I needed a tissue to wipe the tears away but there was a happy Ending.
This series has the best authors .each book written by a different author makes this series unique. Awesome authors make awesome books. And blushing books doesn't make you wait along time for the next book they are about two wks apart
Another great book in the series. One thing I love about this series is it is about with the love and help of family you can overcome. Will and Louise's story is all about this. It is sweet, steamy and just a great read. Love this series
