Jonah Lowell didn't love. He fucked. Jonah Lowell didn't stay. He left. Until her...
Billionaire Jonah Lowell conquered women as easily as he conquered business deals. And he left them just as swiftly and as coldly. Because in the end, women and deals were the same—necessities to make life more pleasurable and profitable but nothing to hold onto. Then he meets Clara Daniels. He meets a woman who shows him just how wrong he has been. He meets a woman who shows him that his heart was more than just an organ—it was the house of love. Then he completely and utterly breaks her heart. He had a goddamn knack for breaking hearts. But now, he sees a second chance at redemption, at love. Can he prove to her that he is more than just a billionaire playboy who creates heartache and destruction wherever he goes? Can he prove it to himself?
Blurb: Jonah Lowell didn't love. He fucked. Jonah Lowell didn't stay. He left. Until her...

Well, well, well...this was a pleasant surprise of a read. It was delightfully angsty, and sweet. Jonah was a pretty big asshole and I wasn't sure I was going to forgive him for what he did to Clara, but he won me over in the end. Clara was a great heroine, I loved that she didn't just fall back at his feet, but stood her ground and made him work for it. There was a tiny bit of OW drama, but it didn't bother me n the least.
I never understood the mentality when someone said they would hurt you now because inevitably they would hurt you later.....Jonas started out as a real sweetheart to Clara. Then because he thought he was incapable of love he crushed her not only by leaving her,but by making it seem like he had played her and was engaged. Jerk. Fast forward 1 year and he sees Clara again. Although he tried to make what he did right, he just left a bad taste in my mouth.
Star Ratings: Heroine (Clara): 4/5 Hero (Jonah): 4/5 Plot: 4/5 Grovel: good Cheating: H became engaged to OW after sleeping with h (he was in denial about his feelings towards h and did it deliberately to break up with h) HEA: yes! Triggers: OW comes on to H and he pushes her away
Average score: 4/5
Best Line: “heaven and hell would have to crumble before me to stop me from walking towards Clara Daniels”
Worst Line: “I was tired from literally talking nonstop for ten hours straight”
Personal Review: This was a surprisingly good read between an arrogant billionaire who devastates a hard working carpenter.
I forgave the H for his asshole-ish ways because of his grovel and his childhood.
Random Ramblings: •The writing style took some time to get used to •That cover is delish
•I was sort of hoping for a surprise baby during their separation •I was so proud of the way Clara voiced her hurt over his abandonment!
Overall Feeling: I was so proud of both the h and H!
Jonah Lowell is a kind man but one who has not much left of his heart. He went from loving one woman to be a total womanizer. He is jaded, having gotten to this place after interactions with his step uncle and the crowd he was surrounded by. He ended up on a trip and stopped in a town where he met Clara Daniels, a beautiful and sensitive woman. He stayed in her town and got to know her and her town, coming to realize that he was falling for her and her small town life. He was falling so deep in love with his Clara but he felt he was unworthy of her love so he up and left her. Fast forward and over a year has gone by, Clara’s business is starting to take off and she goes to New York for a meeting about her company and she meets up with Jonah purely by accident. Jonah realizes he made a terrible mistake he made letting Clara go and he wants Clara back. But now SHE doesn’t want him back. Jonah doesn’t give up easily and this sets up the pace for the rest of the book and there are some twists and turns in how the MC find their way back to each other. It is fast paced, filled with passion, angst and love. It is a good 2nd chance romance . I love how Jonah was such a jerk but deep down there is this insecurity about him. He is an alpha male who is wounded inside who meets the woman who gives him solace and gives him peace. Reading this book, there were a few places where it lagged but overall this was a good book and the ending was satisfying.
My rating: 4.4 stars **** **I was given an ARC by Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review***
Yeah..... NO! This book just didn't work for me. Jonah was the epitome of a selfish, self centered, fuck you I do what I want asshat. Granted we see a brief softer side of him when he lands in Vermont, but the brief period of time, in no way makes up for his very bad emotionally abusive behavior. Clara was a real gem, a talented furniture maker who lived in this small town and was working toward her dream of selling her pieces to a larger market. Jonah jacks her over early in the story and a year goes by, Clara heals by pouring herself into her creative side, moving to NY and getting an agent. Clara isn't aware that Jonah is pulling the strings to help her behind the scenes, and yes I saw this as his continued manipulation of her and his inability to give up control. They meet again in NY at a premier of her work, people around them do not know their history and Clara is beside herself. And angry. He dredges up old and very and feelings and while he appeared nice in print, the guy is still a class A jerk. Read between the lines. I'll also add the book stops at 40% (I read from KU) didn't bother reading the second one. This guy had a chance at redemption in a full way, and while he made superficial moves to make himself look like the good guy he wanted people to see, he still lacked any depth or character. Clara was the only bright spot in the book. She was well written, even though she too lacked depth. I'd just tell you to pass on this one. There are plenty of other books out there to sink into and enjoy. This isn't one of them.
I just finished reading PROVE ME WRONG, my first Gemma Hart book, but it won't be my last I absolutely loved it! I didn't want to put it down, even when I absolutely had to! Everyone asked me what was wrong, due to the scowl on my face or why was I smiling so much. Yep, this book ran the gamut with the emotions while reading, I can only imagine what it was like to write! Gemma did a great job making you feel like you were right beside the characters throughout the story.
Clara is a very talented artist that makes unique handmade furniture, and helps out with the local hardware store. Then Jonah drops into town and she's immediately attracted to him. She told him if he planned on staying he needed to earn his keep and help out in the hardware store. In exchange for meals and a place to stay, he could stay on her couch until he found better arrangements.
New York billionaire Jonah needed a break, before he broke! He planned on just driving until he calmed down, but soon found himself in the remote town of Irvington, Vermont. Where he found a breath of fresh air named Clara. An added bonus, the town didn't seem to know who he was! He found his break, he wants her for a night or two, then he'll return to New York refreshed. However after two weeks the billionaire playboy still didn't have his fill and didn't want to return to reality or his stressed out life. Their desire for each other made them melt together, they couldn't get close enough, nor enough of each other. But all good things must come to an end, and it does when his uncle shows up and reminds him he is needed in New York by the end of the week.
Even though this is an HEA story, it's not a typical one, there are twists, turns and surprises along the way. Do they find their way back to each other after Jonah breaks her heart, in hopes of saving her heart from his destructive ways? Or do they both move on and find their HEA with someone else? You'll have to read on to find out, but it'll be worth the read! this is one I'll DEF read again! Great job Gemma! I give her 5 stars

A quick moving story with two MCs that fall into insta-lust/love. It's romantic fiction so I have no issue with that. Not the first time I've read that and won't be the last. If you're looking for a slow burn story this is not it.
The two MCs have one of those cute roadside meets with Geoff the Moose leading the way. The chemistry and lust happens pretty quickly yet is believable (although what if he was a serial killer that you let into your house?). Again, romantic fiction, people. I love Jonah and Clara together so when Jonah does a very bad thing and breaks Clara's heart on purpose I hate Jonah. No more Team Jonah. My immediate thought during this scene was "what a d*ck!".
Flash forward a year where Clara is moving forward and onward without Jonah's help (so she thinks). I love Clara. She's focused on her business, her dreams, and yet she's not bitter. She's one of those pure romantic fiction heroines that is smart, focused, and doesn't have a bitchy bone in her body. Damn her. When Jonah and Clara meet again the past is brought up quickly, hashed out, and resolved. Again, this is a fast paced book so things don't linger. What I appreciated is that Clara let Jonah know how badly her hurt her, what the aftermath was like, instead of letting the hero hide from what his d-bag actions did to her.
I enjoyed these two MCs together. Even though Jonah was a major d*ck I liked him and Clara together. They made sense in the way only romantic fiction can make it work. My minor complaint about the book is although the pace was quick I wanted a little more because I enjoyed them together and separately. They were both smart, stubborn people and I liked the dual POVs.
Recommend if you're looking for an easy, peasy summer/vaction read.
I received this book for free to give my True and Honest Review
This is my first Gemma Hart book I've read and it's a lovely sweet easy and steady read, where we meet Millionaire & CEO of multi million dollar company (left to him by a step father who didn't like him and only tolerated him for his Mum) Jonah Lowell, who stumbles across a small town where he only stopped to rest his eyes as he needed to pull off the intersection. And this is where he comes across dainty Clara Davis, (who makes furniture out of wood in her spare time) dragging a 'moose head' well that was what it seemed any how and he had to help her especially as he was attracted to her straight away and this is where things becomes different to what he had become accustomed to as no-one seems to know who he is and he reinvented himself for these short couple of weeks, then we see him change in one clean sweep- well you can't quite call it clean, as on that last morning he turns up like a completely different persona a complete pr**k We jump a year later where we see all things change and they see each other again, he's wanting tí be near her and she's trying to keep away, until she can't hold back again & she then find him in a 'compromising' situation & she feels like she's gone back a year except this time she's an up and coming furniture designer in New York, do we see if he can get her to see the way things were and how he truly feel, will she be able to trust him with her heart again???
*** Received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review *** Jonah Lowell is just a wonderful, sweet and kind man. But as good as he can be, he also has some issue with womanizer. He is the step-son to David Lowell, CEO of the DXC Global and after his death Jonah was named heir to the company and the espionage begins. Martin (David brother) thought he was the heir to the company as well as never saw Jonah as David's son and decided to obtain what was his discreetly. The storyline if full of lies, deception and drama but ends with a HEA. Clara Daniels, is smart and vibrant with her furniture business in the back of a hardware store. She and Jonah meets one night during one of her expedition wi1h Geoff:) I couldn't believe that Clara didn't know who Jonah was at their initial encounter due to his exciting lifestyle and being in the news. The storyline was good with a few unanswered questions but it didn't take away from the story. Overall, definitely a book I would recommend!
I was not sure exactly what to expect from this one but it proved to be an entertaining diversion.
Jonah uses and leaves women frequently and Clara keeps mostly to herself. They meet early morning on a street corner in her small town while Jonah is running from his present. They hit it off immediately and begin exploring that relationship right away. Things are good, until they aren't. At this point I was supremely angry with Jonah for being an ass even if he had the best intentions.
Fast forward to a meeting between the two in New York where the electricity is still there. Clara is rightly angry with Jonah and does not want to give him the satisfaction. He's broken her heart and she means to make him stew. I did feel like maybe she let him off a little easy but really enjoyed the story and the ending so I'm giving them a pass.

Jonah is a billionaire CEO who is at odds with his uncle. When he is trying to escape his real life he ends up in a small Vermont town and meets Claire in a very unique way. Claire a small town girl who meets Jonah and has no idea who he is. After spending a fantastic few weeks with Jonah she is surprised to learn who he is and is hurt by how he does it. Flashfoward a year - Claire's career is on a fast track with her furniture making business and she runs into Jonah at an event and tries to ignore him, but Jonah has never forgotten Claire or forgiven himself for what happened before. Now he is set out to prove his love. I enjoyed this story - its fun and witty. I did find some of the story line a little far fetched (how can Claire not know who Jonah was) but overall its a good summer read.

Jonah takes an unexpected road trip to get away from the pressures of his billionaire lifestyle. He ends up far from home and meets up with Clara, a beautiful and sassy woman he can’t seem to get enough of. As usual, he ends up breaking her heart, a trait he’s well known for. It’s only a year later that he runs into her again, but he still can’t seem to stay away…
Broken hearts and second chances go perfectly together in Prove Me Wrong. An excellent second chance romance with the perfect characters and secrets that keep the story intriguing, the reader on the edge of her seat. The hero and heroine’s feelings were heartfelt, tender, and romantic, keeping me glued to the pages. The sex was erotic and well written, as was the whole story. I loved it! 5 Stars!
Clara is a small town girl with dreams of making it big. Jonah meets her lugging a huge moose head around, while trying to escape his life as billionaire CEO. He breaks her heart to show her they're wrong together, only to have them meet each other again a year later.
The two are so great together, even while Jonah is being a womanizing jerk. The story was fast paced, sometimes almost too much so. But I really enjoyed reading about Clara and Jonah and how everything, including the twist with the business, turns out just right in the end.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a very pleasent surprise. The book was short but it flowed extremely well and I just loved Clara. She held her own with Jonah, and you couldn't help but fall for poor broken Jonah even though he did anger me when he left clara, but he had his reasons. Clara went on to forge her own way through her furniture designs only to be reunited with Jonathan and when Jonah is faced with a difficult decission to either do right by Clara or keep everything he worked his business life for,he makes the choice that ultimately right for all.
A sweet quick read with a whole lot of grovel and a second chance ... perfect.
What I wasn't too struck on was I expected a long juicy read - when I opened the book on my Kindle it said 5.5 hours reading, but sadly the book finished around the 40% mark with a second, free book to follow Prove me Wrong. Now I don't have a problem with that but like I said, I expected PMW to be a lot longer and deeper read. That said, I still really enjoyed it.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Billionaire playboy goes on an impromptu vacation and falls for the hometown girl. Then breaks her heart by leaving town with his fiancé without so much as a goodbye. A year later they run into each other in N.Y. city. Can he be good enough for her? Does she still want him? This is a very smoothly written and enjoyable story.
This book was just OK for me. I feel like the HEA was rushed at the end. And, the books says it's 491 pages, but it actually was half that, with a second, unrelated book afterwards. I appreciate freebies, but when I sit down and chose a book that will take me longer than 2 hours to read, that's what I expect.
I agree with another reviewer -- I would have cut his balls off for the stunt he pulled in the beginning. Anything short of begging forgiveness on hands and knees wouldn't have worked for me.
Otherwise this was an okay book. Again, the billionaires tend to get away with murder and everyone lives HEA.
I just finished reading this story and I felt very warm and happy reading how Jason and Kat met and how they connected right from the start. Eve though years separated them, they were always together. A lovely and profound read.
This book started out good but once again it makes all women look stupid. She swears never to have any thoughts or see him again and when she does she does nothing but get back together with. I hope he cheats on her later she deserves it for being giggly and dumb.
