Ciara makes another appearance, four years after her abduction and torture and near death in SCAR TISSUE (BK 1).

She is still seeing a therapist as the panic attacks and nightmares continue. Her relationship with David is on hold for now ... she doesn't want him to see her scars .. the ugly words that were cut into her skin.

She has a small scar on her brain, and that has caused Ciara a 'gift'. When she touches the flesh of a dead person, she can see the last few minutes of that person's life. She's still not sure if it is a gift or a curse.

Now living and working in New York City, a new serial killer is making the news. Young blonde teenage girls are being abducted .. but not for ransom. They are held for days, even weeks, while the killer slowly bleeds them to death.

Ciara knows she shouldn't, but she calls one of the detectives that worked her case. These killings in so many ways are very much like what happened to her. She wants to help even though her therapist has warned her not to get involved.

In helping the police, more people will learn what her secret is .... but will this help identify the killer? Will the killer set his eyes on Ciara and make her a victim again?

This is a terrific follow up to SCAR TISSUE. The characters are solidly written. I really liked that Ciara speaks more about what's going on in her head. David is a good match for her. He's willing to wait even though her obsession over scars doesn't bother him at all. And I really loved how he proved this to her. Cynthia Nanos, as the detective who believes in Ciara's talent is tenacious, and willing to do what it takes to solve this case... even if it means the end of her career.

There is no hint of other books to follow, but I do hope to see more in the future.

Many thanks to the author / Lansen Publishing / Netgalley for the digital copy of this novel. The opinion expressed here is unbiased and entirely my own.

Ciara has settled in to a new life in New York, working her cosmetic magic at the Fairfield Funeral Home, buying a condo and making a real life for herself. She has NOT, however, accepted the scars that cover her body with their vile words. With so many cutting edge procedures, maybe it’s time to do something about them, to erase the hate that has been carved into her skin. Still undergoing psychiatric help, she has been warned to avoid all triggers that could cause her PTSD to rear its ugly head.

When a serial killer starts targeting teen girls, Ciara can’t help but be drawn to helping find this monster before more girls are found dead and mutilated. When a young model bears an uncanny resemblance to Ciara, they strike up a friendship that causes Ciara to feel fear for this young beauty, who truly seems like blood, as opposed to a new acquaintance.

The unthinkable happens and Ciara will risk her very life to stop this monster, including seeing suspects in almost everyone she meets. Has she gotten drawn in too deep? Will her mental health deteriorate or will she find the answers she needs from the touch of one of the victims? When Ciara least expects it, she receives a shock from the past and a gift she can forever cherish, if she can move fast enough.

Suspense, a paranormal gift and the race against time, it’s all there as Ciara once again searches for a needle in the haystack of horrors. M.C. Domovitch is a powerful writer who knows how to set the hook and reel her readers into each scene she creates. SEEING EVIL has that special touch of energy that never bogs down and never follows a linear path to an easy ending. I read to be entertained, I don’t need over-the-top heroines or heroes, but I do need strong writing and world building that keeps me hanging on every page and that is exactly what has happened here. A true to life character, a far too realistic crime spree and mystery that is NOT easy to unravel!

I fell in love with the character of Ciara Kelly. She has some issues since her abduction a few years ago. Regardless she is doing her best to get on with her life and to help others if possible with her ability to see the last moments of a person's life.

I also really enjoyed Detective Nemos who is willing to look beyond the obvious and accept Ciara's help to stop this killer who is targeting teenage girls. If only all detectives would put aside society's beliefs to catch a killer.

Wow! SEEING EVIL is a well written suspense that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats. And I have to admit that I didn't even realize that this was the second book in this series until I went to grab the blurb for this review. Kudos to the author for doing such a great job on this book that it stands all on its own merits.

I really think that my readers who enjoy a good thriller should check out SEEING EVIL. I know that I am looking forward to the next book in the Ciara Kelly saga.

Ciara Kelly makes a compelling return in book two of The Mindsight Series. As a string of teenage girls vanishes in one of Manhattan's opulent neighborhoods, Ciara discerns chilling parallels between these recent abductions and her own traumatic experience a few years earlier. Detective Nanos seeks her unique insights, asking her to examine the latest victim's body and share her impressions. As Ciara becomes increasingly entangled in the investigation, word spreads that she is assisting the police, unwittingly drawing the attention of the relentless kidnapper towards her. Unseen dangers loom as Ciara unwittingly becomes the focus of the sinister forces at play. This is a riveting thriller that explores the aftermath of trauma and the resilience of the human spirit.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review the advance copy of this book.

Watchful Eyes

This book it's almost, if not as good as the first. Both of them were written with such care and expertise. And both could stand along, this can also be an on going series. Great work ! Moving on to the next book by this author. If you are into great entertainment this series is for you.🙌😘

Great mystery

After reading the first book in this series, I was excited to see if the second was as.good. Well it was a great second book, I really didn't see who the killer was until the end. I look forward to the next book!

This is the second book in the series and now I am anxious for the third book, but I have no idea when that will be out yet. Ciara is still recovering from her ordeal with The Cutter, the serial killer. The torture has left physical scars as well as the emotional ones. She is afraid of intimacy, of letting anyone see the scars. She helps the police from the sidelines in their search for the East Side Killer. Ciara discovers she has a half sister, who is kidnapped by the ESK. The book has lots of action and great suspense.

The sequel to Domovitch's Scar Tissue, Seeing Evil picks up a few months later. Ciara Kelly is still haunted by memories of The Cutter and how he almost killed her, but is determined to take control of her life again. Through weekly group therapy appointments, she's beginning to feel normal. Then the East Side Killer strikes again, causing Ciara to become even more paranoid. But she believes she can help the police through her unusual psychic-like abilities, if only they weren't so quick to write her off as a charlatan. Just like the first book in this series, Seeing Evil holds a break-neck pace throughout the entire novel, keeping you on your toes in an attempt to track down a serial killer before the cops catch him, or before he strikes again. This novel also continues to develop Ciara as a character and enhances the roles of a few secondary characters from the first novel.

Seeing Evil by M C Domovitch is a mystery and thriller and general fiction (adult) read.
Ciara Kelly returns in M.C. Domovitch's latest must-read thriller. When teenage girls start disappearing in one of Manhattan's most affluent neighborhood, Ciara notices the similarities between these kidnappings and her own of a few years ago. When Detective Nanos asks her to see the body of the latest victim and give her impressions, Ciara is drawn into the case and word gets out that she is helping the police. Unbeknown to her, the killer's focus turns to her.
OMG. This is an absolutely fantastic read with brilliant characters. Just couldn't put it down. Ciara is still my favourite character. Full of twists. I really didn't see that coming. You think you know who it is and then she twists it. Fantastic. I love this series. This is a must read and I would highly recommend this book. Definitely worth more than 5*. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. I was thrilled to receive a copy of this book as I had just finished Scar Tissue, the 1st book in this Mindsight series and really enjoyed it! In this book, Ciara is still getting her life together after almost losing her life to a serial killer, then her sister died leaving her without any family to speak of. I love how brave, yet vulnerable Ciara is and I think the way she can touch people after they have passed and see what happened in their final moments is very creative and heightens the suspense in these books. This story was a real page turner and I am looking forward to the next book in this series! I highly recommend both books in this series!

Ciara can detect

Ciara seems to have a knack for seeing things clearer than some people. I'm sure the things she had been subjected to had increased her clarify.

Seeing Evil (The Mindsight Series Book 2) by M.C. Domovitch is a mystery-thriller that kept my attention. This subject matter has been written about before but is different enough that I gave it four stars.

Ciara Kelly, a former model who was scarred by the serial killer 'The Cutter' now does makeup at a funeral home.

Now I will read Scar Tissue (The Mindsight Series Book 1) even if I read it out of order.

I received a complimentary Kindle copy from Lansen Publishing and NetGalley. That did not change my opinion for this review.

Ciara is back with her unusual talent of being able to see/ re-live the final moments of a deceased persons life. But once again her offers to use her powers for good are rejected by the police and another serial killer is on the loose.. If you remember her previous outing "Scar Tissue" you remember she still carries the scars given to her the serial killer before she escaped. The scars complicate her attempts to have a normal life. She is battling that and the frustration of trying to get the police to believe her. Eventually she does and its a thrilling ride from beginning to end As you might guess, I enjoyed this latest novel by MC Domovitch.

This is going to be short as I am on my way to reading the first book.. Page turner so obviously had a hard time putting it down. Well written with a pace that kept the Mystery and a hold your breath thrill waiting for the next shoe to drop suspense. Then, when you "believe" you've got it figured out...another twist with a turn happens leaving you NOT confused but understanding it's not what you believed. If I had them....5 thumbs up.

This review is based on the ARC provided by the author and/or the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I fell in love with this series after I received the first book's ARC by error. There is no shortage of action and intrigue in these stories. They are awesome reads. Light on the romance, but heavy on the interest.

Ciara Kelly has started her life new after her horrible ordeal, but her scars still haunt her. She is seeing a psychiatrist to help with the PTSD. She is warned to stay away from anything that will trigger her. There is a new killer, the East Side Killer that is targeting teenagers by keeping them trapped for a long time slowly bleeding them out. Ciara knows that she can help the police with her talent/curse, if she could just get them to believe her.

I loved Scar Tissue, it was a great thriller with an amazing female lead. Ciara is still suffering from her ordeal but she is trying to put her life back together. I love how David is so caring but willing to give Ciara her space to get things put in order. But Ciara is stronger than she thinks and she is willing to let others know about herself in order to stop the East Side Killer.

This is a great story and although a second book in the series you could read it as a standalone book. This thriller will draw you in and keep you up late wanting to know what happens next. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Ciara next.

I received Seeing Evil from Sage’s Reading Room for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.

Let me start by saying....I really do not like this cover. I know that is minor and you are never to judge a book by its cover (luckily I didn't). This cover fits the title just not the story.

Ciara has a strange gift. (You will need to read the book to find out!) She tries desperately to put it to good use to help the police find the missing girls. This causes a huge rift between the commander and one of his best detectives.

There are some good aspects to this read. It has some unique qualities. I enjoyed the story and did not want to stop till I found out all that was happening. Ciara and her strange gift, the missing girls, the detective, really keeps the reader entertained. However, there are many places this book needed a good editor. I do not say that because of spelling or grammar. There are some mistakes in the story easily found. There are places where a few changes in wording would have gone a long way. The author has talent, just needs some tweaking.

I received this copy for a honest review.

It's been four long years since Ciara lived, instead of being another dead victim of the Cutter. She bears the scars, yes, but the emotional ones are always harder. She now has a new gift, or maybe it's a curse to her. Ciara can't stop seeing things. Now if she can get someone to listen to her, and not lose herself in the obsession of catching this new killer, her life might be sudo-normal. Again, an excellent read and strong sequel! I do hope there is another book coming in this series.

My copy came from Net Galley. My thoughts and opinions are my own. This review is left of my own free volition.
