I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
We first meet Mason, a young up and coming back-room MMA fighter. For Mason, fighting is a way of survival and it was his way to save himself from getting into fights as a kid.
Unfortunately as a back-room fighter, they always run the risk of being raided and that's what happened the night that Mason met Ash.
As Mason is trying to get home without being seen by anyone in his trunks and gloves. His face is all bloodied and he's got a bad cut on his head. Who does he happen to run into but his ex booty call, Jana. Jana was on the way out to a local club with her room mate Ash.
Ash convinces him to come back to their house so she can clean and dress his wounds. Ash is training to be a nurse and Mason is refusing to go to the hospital. Doesn't help he really has no clothes, no identification, no keys and no phone on him. Just his boxing shorts and gloves.
The tension is very thick between Ash and Mason, Jana can even sense the sparks starting between these 2. This book is about each of them trying to deal with their crazy family members without letting the other know what's really going on.
The chemistry is good between Mason and Ash. I enjoyed reading this book.

In their interest of complete honesty, I read this book because of the cover. It intrigued me. When all there seems to be are men with admittedly beautiful and ripped, naked chests on NA romance book covers, I wondered what the story was behind this one. I mean, he's probably really fit, but why is he covering up? Mysterious.
Suffice it to say, the only mystery is how this book could be so boring. Seriously, I almost started crying it was so bad. Nothing happened. The h is sort of socially weird, her roommate is awful, the H isn't quite what you expect, but that's it. There isn't really enough character development and I had a hard time staying interested.
What I liked:
1) The alternate povs.
2) This wasn't filled with tons of sex scenes (really not that many) and the language was pretty clean for an MMA story.
3) No cheating, but a little bit of ex-hook up drama. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Ick.

Mason is involved in underground MMA fighting and where he is fighting gets raided by the police and he's hurt he runs into his ex Jana & her friend. Ash is studying to become a nurse helps Mason out. She flirts with Mason to get under her friends skin and she starts to like him but doesn't like him fighting but really starts seeing the real Mason. But when their family drama gets to out of hand will there relationship end before it began?

I have read several of Claire's book and have enjoyed them all. This one was maybe not quite up to her best work, but was a good story with great characters. Ash who is studying to become a nurse is a very smart woman, which I love to see. Mason an underground MMA fighter. The best part of the book was two extra stories. Both of which I read previously and really enjoyed.

Mason is an underground MMA fighter. So when the cops bust the fight after mason just finished his fight he is running. With a bloody face and just his boxing shorts on, he runs into ash. Ash is going to school to be a nurse. So she helps mason. These two have families with bad intentions. Can these two lean on each other?

Pretty bad ass
Well this was definitely a good MMA story. If you like reading about a very hot fighter figure out his some what crazy life then this is the book for you. Hot sex too.

ARC review For honest review this is a cute story of Mason a illegal MMA fighter who meets ash when he comes upon ash and his ex after a match that got raided. I loved how these two characters looks out for each other.
