This book The Vietnam War by Peter Chrisp is a NonFiction book. The publication date on this book was 2014. My opinion of this book was that it was a book just full of information that I liked. The main characters/groups were North Vietnam, South Vietnam, Viet Cong, and the United States of America. The main conflict was the North wanted a communist Country but the South didn`t want a communist Country. The setting of this book took place at Vietnam. The North want a communist Country and The South wanted a democracy, so the North and South went to War and the U.S. joined the falling South to help them with the War. In the Section Domino Theory it states "Vietnam can`t fall to communism .Southeast Asia is a line of dominoes, meant that if one fell, it would knock over it`s neighbors." Which is why America Join South Vietnam. If South Vietnam fell, their neighbors would also fall. I recommend this book for everyone it`s not a very challenging book and it has a lot of information about the Vietnam War.

The book discussed the main topics of the Vietnam war. The book was in a very neat, chronological order. The book was very predicting and you knew what was going to happen next. The book will show you the basic run down of what happened in Vietnam.

My thoughts on the book are that it is very good at showing what happened to a young reader. The book

This nonfiction picture book would pair well with Inside Out & Back Again to be used in a unit on the Vietnam War. I think this was a comprehensive overview of the Vietnam War--as much as could be included in a picture book. It would be a great text to use to build background knowledge on this topic, which is what I was using it for.
