Started out with a lot of promise & wisdom. Author tells us early on to forget what we know about Jesus or assumes we haven’t met Him before. But then goes on and on about passages and things that are not well explained. You need to know the chapters he is referring and many times you should have a Bible next to you. Well, that isn’t what I wanted or expected from this.

I skipped chapter 10 when it was obvious I was going to have to grab my bible. I wasn’t planning to do more than read from this book. Then I skimmed or fully read a few more chapters, but it was obvious that the magic from earlier in the book was gone. Not long before he mentioned his wife died when he was writing this, I felt the change. I thought it was me at first, but I think it is the writer.

Had this book on my shelf & guess I had started it. I also had the Everything Jesus book by Jon Kennedy - this is more what I thought I was finding in this idiot’s guide.
