"A cottage by the sea is the perfect summer vacation spot for bonding and healing old and new wounds for divorced romance writer, Cassandra Phillips and her sister Eleanor. Gentle breezes and fresh salt air lull them into thinking it’s going to be a quiet relaxing summer, but when a mesmerizing, blue-eyed Carl McGee moves into the cottage next door, Cassie’s resolve to never fall for a man again begins to dissolve. When rumors of a drug-smuggling ring along the Carolina coastline surface, there are warning bells that something’s not quite right in paradise and Cassie begins to question who Carl McGee really is. Is he the gentleman that he seems to be or is he a criminal laying low in this little coastal town? Danger and intrigue make this summer read by Glenda Manus a real page-turner." The Melancholy Moon is a stand-alone book in The Southern Grace Series.
Enjoyed the book. Having lost so many family members recently to Cancer and just burying my spouse of 49 years due to a long prolonged illness. I know what loss and loneliness feels like. This book took me out of my sorrow for short periods of time and escaped into Cassie's fight with cancer and learning to trust and hope again with a little romance and adventure thrown in to keep you turning the page. So far, this was my favorite book in this series!!
I live in North Carolina, and have been to so many places you write about. You make them come alive! Great reads. Edge of my seat reads that I can't put down.
We meet Liz's Aunt Cassie in this book. She is going through chemo, and needs help with some of life' s challenges. Now Pastor Rock enters the scene helping Cassie find her way back to God. The setting is not Park Place, but I enjoyed this one as much as the other ones in the series.
I was little skeptical reading this in the beginning, but once the relation to Rev Rock, Park P!ace, and Pelican Pointe were revealed, I started to thoroughly enjoy the story. Another great addition to the series
This was one of the most boring books I have read in years. I've read the ones before this, but I'm stopping with this one. I skipped many pages. It was not written as well as the others, in this series.
The writing style was smooth and seamless. The storyline held my attention and had enough twists and turns to not be boring. The characters were well developed and believable. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I will read more by this author.
I really liked the suspense of the book. The part I didn't like at the beginning was that Cassie almost seemed like she was whining about Carl being a possible criminal. The last part of the book had quite a bit of action.

I am from South Carolina so I love coastal romances. I also love stories about grace and second chances. We all have our heartaches and can use inspiration.
