Grey was a wounded soldier that ended up in a program that would help them return to a functional capacity. The program worked wonderfully, but now he desires the cousin of the white wolf that runs the program. He'll pursue her no matter how fast she runs. She is his fated mate, the other half of his soul.
Lucille has had a miserable existence since her ex-husband left her without the means to support herself. She's scraped and clawed out a meager living, but she'll never let another man make decisions for her.
They will be tested by others that want to hurt them, but if they learn to depend on each other, they just might survive.
She's tired of being dominated but he's an alpha wolf inside and out. Is there any hope for love to blossom between these two seemingly mismatched mates? There is if he has any say in it.

Life and love can be difficult, but even Moore so for a white wolf! Lucille was in a mundane relationship. She is divorced and afraid to try again. Grey was injured in the army and now a warden. Like her cousin Cassie, she takes in boarders for extra money. To make matters worse; there are people out kidnapping others for slaves. Will she take a chance on Grey? Can she stay out of the slavers way? This book was so exciting it kept me up late! Danger is all around.

Taking a Chance

Received this book for free for an honest review.

If you have been following the "White Wolf Series" by Crystal Dawn you will know this series is an off shoot to the original. This series revolves around some of older female cousins of Ariel that carry the white wolf gene.

Lucille is a divorced mother who is struggling to keep her home and self afloat. She did not marry for love more out of convenience so when he left she does not ask for help but seeks ways to support herself.

Ariel tries to help her cousin in such a way that it does not seem like charity as she knows Lucille will reject that type of assistant from her. It is decided that Lucille will fix up rooms in her house to rent to wolves that are recovering from injuries so that they can be close to the rehab facilities at Cassandra place.

I enjoy these books so that you can get to know the different characters that surround the first white wolf and its like one huge family with lots of issues with the main one being someone is always trying to capture a white wolf for themselves to mate, breed or build alliances or power.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. I enjoyed the back and forth between Grey and Lucille as well as the heat between the two. Lucille is trying to prepare her home for tenants referred by a friend. She is helping recovering veterans get on their feet again. Her first tenant is Grey. He recognizes her as his mate but does not want to push because he is involved in a dangerous case. Feelings grow but some doubts remain. The case catches up to them, and Grey must rescue Lucille before it is too late.

Great addition to the series

This story is a very good addition to the series. I really enjoy the White Wolf Matriarchs series. The characters are a little more mature and that adds a depth to the emotions and situations. Can't wait for the next story. I would recommend this book to any adult.
