La romance NA a prouvé son efficacité et Melissa Toppen a parfaitement compris les ressorts efficaces de ce genre. Là voilà qui signe un NA malheureusement très, très classique, doublé d’un triangle amoureux. La lecture est très plaisante, ne vous y trompez pas, mais seulement sans surprise. cela donne juste envie d’imaginer ce que l’auteure pourrait faire d’un peu plus original.

Ce roman est le second d’une série à la structure, elle aussi très classique. Les personnages masculins sont au nombre de trois, tout comme les personnages féminins. Pour les deux premiers tomes, Melissa Toppen met en présence un garçon et une fille de chaque groupe. Les deux héros masculins sont propriétaires d’un bar à Portland et les deux jeunes femmes poursuivent leurs études dans une université à deux heures de route. il vaut sans doute mieux avoir lu le premier tome, pour ne pas être spoilés sur le premier couple d’une part mais également car l’histoire de Gavin et Harlee a vaguement commencé déjà. Tous deux ont un caractère assez identique et doutent fortement qu’il soit possible de trouver un amour pour la vie. Ils craignent l’engagement et ont tendance à enchainer les brèves liaisons qu’essayer de trouver un petit ami à long terme. Très classique je vous dis.

I simply loved this book!! I was intrigued by Gavin when we first met him in Crazy Stupid Love. Mr One Night Stand was acting oddly after his one night with Harlee and I couldn't wait to get to the bottom of the mystery. Harlee, who also was no stranger to one night stands, all of a sudden began to date Bryan.
Crazy Stupid Obsession centers around Gavin, who simply can not get Harlee out of his head, or his heart. Harlee has decided to play it safe by trying to maintain (and find the elusive spark) with her version of steady and safe...Bryan. Oh, the angst! I devoured this book on the edge of my seat waiting for the story to play out...and my heart was so happy!!
I loved how we also got to peek into the lives of Kimber and Decklan...and I love seeing past characters make appearances in new books. Can't wait for the final book in this trilogy!

If this had been written in the 1950's I might be able to understand this series. However, it was not. These books are denigrating to women. No matter what the male figure does, its her fault and she must be the one to apologize and get the relationship back on track.
Secondly, there is huge amount of profanity that does not add to the development of the plot or characters. It feels like the men are low lifes and the women, who are all attending college and are underage, are settling for less than desirable men. There is a huge amount of drinking also at all times of the day with the women being served at a bar even though they are underage.
This should be science fiction, not romance.

We were introduced to Harlee and Gavin from Crazy Stupid Love. Harlee is Kimber's good friend and roommate, while Gavin is Decklan's best friend and the co-owner of Deviants bar, where they all first met.

When they first hooked up, Harlee suddenly realized that she wanted more with Gavin, but he wasn't interested. To cover the hurt, she dated a man who made her felt safe, but she still can't forget Gavin. Out of the blue, he started showing her that he wanted her, to the point of being obsessed , despite the fact that she already had a boyfriend. She was made to choose. But she was torn between choosing love, that would most likely break her in the end, and safety which lacks the spark but is comfortable. As a result, she lost both. But in the end, the love so obsessively strong prevailed.


CRAZY STUPID OBSESSION is the second standalone book under the Crazy Stupid Series, featuring two individuals who have the same strong happy go lucky and stubborn personalities. The plot has an element of a love triangle, and some cheating, so this book may not be for everybody. However, this book was scorching hot, very intense , emotionally gripping , and relatable. Most importantly, it has a well-deseved HEA.

This is the second book in the( Crazy Stupid Series) by Melissa Toppen and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this great story. We met handsome sexy Gavin in book 1 (Crazy Stupid Love) and we know that there's something going on between him and the sweet and beautiful Halee , but Gavin just ignores Halee suggestions that they should hang out together. Then Halee starts to date a nice guy called Bryan, who's totally seems safe. But when Gavin spots Halee at his bar on New Years ,he finally realizes he's must have her . But when Gavin and Halee starts an relationship ,Halee knows she must break it off with Bryan , but she wants to find the right perfect moment to do it .But this soon starts a problem between her and Gavin ,but Gavin does something silly and unacceptable and he ends up losing his beautiful Halee. Can Gavin fix what he did or is it the end to them? Melissa Toppen has given us another great story, that draws us in from start to finish ,and then will leave us wanting more from this author. The characters are amazing and were well developed and the storyline was well written. I could tell you more about this touching story but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this touching story ,you won't be disappointed.

Gavin and Harlee hooked up one night but kept it a secret from their friends. When Gavin totally ignored Harlee afterwards she decides to move on and gets herself a boyfriend.
Once Gavin finds out he decides that she is his and he will sleep with her again to get her out of his system. Now he wants her for himself but the boyfriend is standing in the way of them moving on. Haylee is afraid to let Bryan go in case Gavin leaves her so she is secretly dating both of them.
I liked this book but I am a little confused when it comes to Gavin. When they first got together his actions made it seem like there was a big secret why he couldn't commit to anyone and yet nothing was ever revealed so that didn't make sense to me. For someone who jumped from one girl to the next and never committed just seemed odd without any explanation as to why afraid of commitment. Also I hate when the main character has slept with and express an interest in the heroin but still sleeps around. I get they aren't committed yet but don't describe the scene with another woman. Then it seems like mere days or hours pass before he is sleeping with the main character. Major turn off.

I loved the first book in this series so I was hoping to love Gavin and Harlee and I did not at first :(
I think it was because of Gavin pushing her away and Harlee having a boyfriend who she didn't really have that spark with. They keep running back to each other and their chemistry is hot! I liked that Decklan and Kimber where in this book and can't wait for the next one. So in the end I did enjoy this book and can't wait for some Paxton!

I enjoyed Harlem and Gavin's story, but I didn't love it. While I understood Hardee's issues, I thought she was really immature with the way she handled Bryan...like I almost shelved this one, but I did not and was satisfied with the end...I am looking forward to Paxton and Charlie.

After reading Crazy Stupid Love and getting a glimpse of Harlee and Gavin, I couldn't wait to get my hands on their story and see how it all plays out. What starts as a one night stand on Halloween in Crazy Stupid Love is far from over and Melissa soon drags readers back into this crazy college world full of nights out at the "Deviants" bar, the reuniting of old friends, and getting to know new friends in Crazy Stupid Obsession. Harlee and Gavin are all kinds of angsty, hot, and heartfelt.

Gavin Potter is co owner of the bar Deviants and was living life in the fast lane working, partying, and finding a different women to warm his bed every night. That is until the sassy and beautiful Harlee comes walking into his bar and he is brought to his knees. I must begin this review by telling you that I love everything Melissa Toppen writes. She's really an author to discover if you still haven't read any of her books yet. After finishing Crazy Stupid Love, the first book in this series, I knew I needed to read Gavin and Harlee’s story, because they were very present characters that needed their own book.

After their one night stand, both of them aren’t the same; they’re obsessed with each other, but they try to deny it; Harlee by dating a "safe"guy and Gavin by sleeping with a long line of different girls. Let’s just say that their methods isn't very successful and sparks still fly when they're in each other proximity. I loved Gavin in the first book, but in this one I loved him even more. Despite all the hurdles he faced with Harlee I liked the way he was devoted to her after he finally acknowledges his real feelings for her. I had a little more difficulty to connect with Harlee, because I didn’t really agree with the way she acted toward the situation she was in. Her feelings for Gavin seemed incontestably genuine, but the way she couldn’t make her mind and stick with it with all the back and forth was a little difficult to make her completely loveable. She had a bitter childhood that made her struggles to blindly trust people and with the way their first encounter ended with Gavin ignoring her thereafter, it certainly didn't help her erase the doubts she had about a relationship with him. I still highly enjoyed their chemistry that was very palpable, and I couldn't help but feel that in spite of every obstacle in their way, they were meant to be together. Another thing I really appreciated about this novel was the interactions between this great group of friends. Gavin has a unique bond with Decklan and Paxton that goes beyond friendship and I absolutely loved their dynamic. Harlee also has an awesome and understandable friend in Kimber. It's great when secondary characters also has a voice in a book, and I got to see them a lot!!

This read was packed with funny and sweet moments, but also scenes filled with passion, fierceness but also sadness. Melissa Toppen has achieved with this new novel to present us a beautiful romance filled with undeniable chemistry and love.

Holy hot mess Batman! I knew that when I first met Gavin and Harlee in Crazy Stupid Love that their story would be an explosion. But wow, it was so messy. But a good one in my opinion because love is rarely easy and rarely clean cut. That makes this story all the more relatable. Crazy Stupid Obsession follows Gavin and Harlee as they navigate the choppy waters of trying to commit to just one person. Both of them have a history of moving from person to person. They both like having control in their relationships. Gavin’s just a perpetual bachelor, living his dream. Harlee has a heartbreaking history and she doesn’t let anyone in, only her aunt and her best friends know.

Harlee, while broken and flawed, is bold and audacious. She hides behind a tough girl exterior. But that doesn’t always extend to relationships. Gavin is smooth, flirty and hot. He’s got all he needs in his bar, his family and his friends. He doesn’t see the need for a woman beyond a hook up. The chemistry between the two of them is palpable. Neither of them quite know how to do the relationship thing. The side characters are amazing; it’s the same bunch as the first book with the addition of Gavin’s sister Charlie. I love how much they add to each story.

There are definite feels within this story as well. Toppen seems to be a master at drawing them out of you with flawless writing, great pacing and wonderful storytelling. I got swept up easily within the pages and didn’t put the book down until the last page. I cannot wait for the last book; I can tell it’s going to be just as great. And I’ll definitely have to look up her other works.

I can say that this book was what; I thought it was going to be and more. The author always knows how to write a book that will keep you engaged in it from the first page till the end. This is Crazy Stupid Obsession (Crazy Love #2) by Melissa Toppen.

“Harlee loves you, Gavin. I know you know that. You are who she wants. I know you know that, too. But you can’t force her into something she’s not ready for. All you can do is show her that she’s worth waiting for.”

We’ve got Gavin who sleeps with them and the next day moves to someone else. He is not commitment type, but that change with Harlee. Then we’ve got Harlee who has not had the easy life, but has made the best of her situation. Harlee can’t admit is into Gavin that’s why it’s back and forth with these two for a while. These two clash from the start after there one night together. I loved the back and forth banter with these two, but it showed how these two were meant to be together. It wasn’t easy for either of these two, but somehow through it with great secondary characters they get there happily ever after in the end. This book had it all drama with some angst, sexy scenes and just a really good story about love. I’m not going to lie, I did cry some, but I laughed as well throughout this whole book.

One thing I know about this author is she is very talented in her writing. I’ve enjoyed every single one of her books and they keep getting better every time. Don’t think about this book, go one click it today and see what, I’m talking about.

Was very happy to receive this book with the other in the series, got to read them back to back as I was really excited to read Gavin and Harlee's story.

Gavin and Harlee had a one night stand and he now can't get her out of his head. He doesn't do relationships just hook ups but this girl is under his skin, and after seeing Declan happy with Kimber, he is wants to see her again. Unfortunately she has moved on to another guy and is dating him but Gavin is certainly not going to let Bryan get in the way. He wants Harlee and he will get her.

This book had me gripped like the first one but I felt more for these characters, I wanted to knock their heads together a few times but was rooting for Gavin and Harlee to get their acts together.

Harlee really likes Gavin and was heartbroken when she never heard from him after their night together, this goes against her normal
MO, she is normally happy for hook ups only. She finally gives in to Bryan's pursuit and finds comfort in the fact he's safe and dependable. She's not sure if she wants to risk that for Gavin who has the power to destroy her. The more he pursues her the more she can't walk away and realises she loves Gavin.

This book has the same stubborn, strong personalities that book 1 had with a love triangle thrown in for added drama. The passion between Harlee and Gavin was scorching hot and you could really relate to both their emotions.

Super excited to read Payton's and Charlie's story next, think this could be my favourite.

Gavin would take a bullet for Decklan, just like he knew Decklan would do for him. Gavin thinks that Harlee hating him is for the best. Harlee is determined to move past the night, she is having a very hard time forgetting Gavin because her best friend and roommate is with Decklan. Gavin doesn't like seeing Harlee with anyone else.
Gavin is Decklan's friend, has the ability to screw everything up, he is the co owner of Deviants, he is 25 years old. Decklan is Gavin's friend, Kimber's boyfriend, he is very loyal and the co owner of Deviant. He wants what is best for Gavin and what is best for Harlee. Harlee is Kimber's best friend, she is a very loyal and protective person. Kimber's roommate. Is trying to forget about Gavin. Lost her mother at the age of 10 Rosie is Gavin's mother. She is very sweet. Paxton is Gavin and Decklan's friend, he is a musician. Angel is Harlee and Kimber's crazy and fearless friend. Jay is Harlee's aunt, closest thing Harlee has to a mother. Charlie is Gavin's younger sister, is coming home for New York, she is 21 years old.
This is the second book in the Crazy Stupid series, this is Gavin and Harlee's book. This book can be read separately from the series. I loved how well the story is written and how well the characters are developed. I also loved how I was drawn in from the first page and how I felt connected to the characters. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Talk about issues. Roadblocks. Tunnel vision. Harlee and Gavin are all and then some. There was something about a one night stand that you know is more but ignore that feeling. Then it beats you over your head at every encounter. Every glance. Every thought. Harlee was determined to move on, but of course that was hard to do when her roomy was dating the best friend of the one. Gavin thought that he could forget, but that was not happening for him either. There was more going on and neither was wise enough to just confront the fact head on and them go forward. Until . . .

Crazy Stupid Obsession was crazy stupid entertainment. I had much enjoyment getting to know more about Harlee and Gavin and how they were going to get around their mutual obsession with one another. I was good getting a peek in on Kimber and Decklan. I was wanting more of their story. I did enjoy getting to expand the character base here and all the new possibilities that was seen with more books to come.

I found enjoyable characters and entertaining mixing. Gavin and his she's mine not his attitude. I could truly understand Harlee and the life she was handed. I could feel the need to move forward and make something for herself. Book two gave more to look forward to. Now lets move on to the next one.

Crazy Stupid Obsession can be read as a standalone. However, I highly recommend you read Crazy Stupid Love first. Just so you can get the whole background of the characters.

Crazy Stupid Obsession is Gavin and Harlee's story. And what a story it is.

Harlee found herself in bed with Gavin. She wanted more but he disappears and wants nothing to do with her. She finds herself in a relationship with Bryan. She knows her heart is with Gavin. She feels comfortable with Bryan. He isnt who she wants. She has to make up her mind who she wants. Only for her, making up her mind isn't so easy.

I really connected with Harlees character. She is beautiful, smart, strong willed and stands up for herself.

Gavin is a ladies man. He has sex with these women and throws them aside. Harlee was no different. Until he sees her with Bryan. He wants her, wants to fight for her. But Gavin doesn't do relationships and refuses to he tied down. But he just might be willing to change that for Harlee.

I really enjoyed this book. CSO is very well written with great characters.
Harlee is such a strong character in this book.
Can't wait for book three. Paxton and Charlie?

After reading crazy stupid love I was really looking forward to reading the next book in the series, crazy stupid obsession. Although part of a series it could be read as a standalone novel but believe me both books are amazing so I do recommend reading crazy stupid love first.
So onto the review – this book focuses on Gavin and Harlee's story and as both of these characters feature a lot in book 1 I was looking forward to see how this story progressed from what happened between them in the background of the first book.
Again I finally spoke to rub it in and enjoyable – but I have to admit I'm still a Decker fan!! I didn't find this book is emotional is the first but that doesn't mean I liked it any less he just has different characters with the rain different background stories, I still couldn't put it down and finished in just over 24 hours after finishing book 1. I'm definitely looking forward to book 3 when we find out more about Paxton's story.
I give crazy stupid obsession 4 stars (my 5 stars were reserved for Decker!)

Crazy Stupid Obsession is an fantastic follow up to book 1 in the Crazy Love Series.

Gavin is a playboy through and through. Except, one night he meets Harlee, his best friend's girlfriend's roommate, and he knows there is just something about her. Gavin doesn't really have any major issues in his past, he just isn't ready to settle down. Except, he can't seem to forget about Harlee.

Harlee had a terrible childhood. Two parents out of her life, she was sent to live with her aunt. She doesn't trust or commit. After a one-night stand with Gavin, she thinks she might want more. Only, Gavin never calls her and he ignores her when they are in the same room. After obsessing over him for a short time, she gives up and settles for a safer option.

The rest of the story is emotional with lots of ups and downs. They know they are in love with each other, but so many things come between them. When they finally get their HEA, it is one of my favorite HEA's I've read in a long time.

This book was amazing and can be read as a standalone even though it is the second in the series.
Gavin doesn't do relationships. He is all about the next random women. However, that changes when he has one night with Harlee. After that one night he will try anything to get Harlee to give him a chance to prove that he can and is willing to have a relationship.
Harlee also doesn’t do relationships. Because of events that happened in her childhood she can't really trust anyone. This is all until her one night with Gavin. After that she tries to give a relationship a try with Bryan.
With Gavin trying everything to get Harlee to give him a chance, it can mean only one thing Trouble!!! Will Gavin win Harlee's love or will all the Trouble be too much?
Melissa Toppen did an amazing job with this book. This book has many funny moment, as well as making you fall in love with her characters.

We met Harlee and Gavin in the first book of this Series, Crazy Stupid Love. There were definitely hints there that book 2 would feature these two and Melissa has not disappointed! These two characters both have issues with their past, trust, self-esteem, and deeming themselves worthy of love. For some reason, after a one night stand, neither can get the other out of their head and due to their mutual friends, they keep running into each other. The heat these two generate is off the scale and their mutual stubbornness will keep you swiping the pages to see what they've done next and where they are headed. It isn't a smooth ride for either of them but it is a ride worth taking. I also love the fact that this book includes all the characters from book 1 brought together to keep us updated on the happenings of Decklan and Kimber and also gives us hints at whole will be featured in book 3 - Crazy Stupid Perfection.

Received a copy. Do you have a fear? Is it worth obsessing over? Gavin and Harlee, what a turn of events. Both are facing a fear, will they be able to conquer the fear? Melissa Toppen has delivered another great read. Gavin and Harlee are hot together but oh my stubborn, alpha and sass. There is not a rule book when it comes to the matter of the heart. You just have to be able to listen to what it is saying. The heart feels and beats and the emotions run free. It is hard to put into words what this book did to me but I will tell you this take the ride with Gavin and Harlee it is well worth it. See where the ride takes you. Will your heart pump with adrenaline, will it ache or will you be the one that stops and says yes there is such a thing as a Crazy Stupid Obsession? Can't wait for the next one to come along in the series.
