Trevor Hale is an average college student, struggling to get by. Juggling school, his job at the music store, and his father’s ridiculous expectations, Trevor has a few more hurdles to clear before he can truly get out of his lifelong slump. He has managed to maintain a lie for his entire twenty-year old life, but he is ready to finally bring it all out into the open.
The night before the new semester, Trevor decides to take his life by the reigns and makes a life-changing He likes men! With the help of his supporting roommates, Stacey and Paul, Trevor jumps headfirst into a world full of uncertainties as he finally begins to accept his sexuality. Desperate for a celebration, Stacey drags a reluctant Trevor to a night-on-the-town at the local gay bar, where he attempts to come out of his shell, but finds himself sitting in the corner of a bar with his eyes fixated on the floor.
A local band named Eagle Talon plays a rocking show, and Trevor lays eyes on lead singer and heartthrob, Benjamin Schneider. If that wasn’t enough excitement for one night, Trevor eventually calls the attention of one handsome and very forward suitor. Little does he know that both of these men will forever alter the course of his life.

Jerry Cole is a gay author who lives in California & enjoys writing love stories. Jerry has been writing fiction since he was a child. As a young adult, he worked as a freelance writer in the evenings & on weekends. Jerry started writing gay romance stories several years ago, but initially just for his own entertainment & occasionally sharing stories with his friends. In the summer of 2015 he published his first gay romance short story on Amazon. Overwhelmed by the positive response he decided to quit his “day job” & took up writing gay romance full time. When he’s not writing steamy M/M romance he enjoys globetrotting, watching movies with family and friends, working out, & being dragged down the road by his two Great Danes.
„Heartthrob” is M/M novel by Jerry Cole. It follows story about Trevor, Ben and Connor. We meet Trevor just as he comes out to his friends. That evening he ends up in the bar, where he meets both Benjamin and Connor. Things with Connor end up pretty quickly or at least it seems that way, and Trevor slowly develops relationship with Benjamin, the guy who’s making his heart throb. I won’t say anything beyond that, because I don’t want to spoil it. Let me just tell you that someone is bat-shit crazy!
“I say we go kick his ass.” well… you should’ve done just that.
The story was terrific. Nail-biting, engaging and all that jazz. Couldn’t put it down. Literally. I loved Trevor and Benjamin, as well as Stacey and Paul - great, likable characters. Recommended!

I dont want to spoil the book so i wont say much more. i recommend this book to everyone, Jerry Cole is amazing and i look forward to reading many more of his amazing and awesome books. 11 out of 10, 5 stars definitely. *I received a free advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest & unbiased review*
Trevor was so sweet and innocent. I loved his character. When he met Benjamin and they began their shy romance, the story became even better and made me smile! While there was some angst with the creepy professor, I loved the way the author handled the whole scenario and brought the book to a happy ending. I would really like to see a HEA for these two guys. So I hope the author doesn't stop their story with a HFN!!!
First Love is something we remember forever. First time? Also something that isn't forgotten.. You wrote a beautiful book. HeartThrob covers it all, It's terrifying for some people when they come out as for the psychos that are out there or in this case in these pages..well I suggest you read HeartThrob and see what happens..
Words and Music..one of the greatest combinations!!
Trevor used his wonderful gift of words to help find himself and his place in the world. It also brought him to a love that was filled with music to compliment a new love between two people..friends and family!!! Well worth reading!! Wow!!!
I thought this was a nice short read, however there was too much going on in my opinion. If the author expanded a bit more in some areas and took more time in others, maybe the book would not have felt so rushed and compact in some areas. All in all, this was a nice read. I cannot wait to see what is next from this author.
I don't get it. Everybody seems to be raving about this book and I think it's a mess. It was rushed, unrealistic and there were plenty of details that were skipped/made no sense. I'd rather see a story written with care rather than rushed out like off of an assembly line.
I love it when you just have a few hours to sit and enjoy a little bit of "man love" and one of Jerry Coles books are available. A vary sweet story of one shy guy, Trevor, and his new friend rocker, Ben. And a vary psychotic English Professor.
A boy who finally comes out of closet has a very eventful and crazy time being introduced into the gay community. Handsome singer is a plus. Psychotic professor, wow. Short and sweet. I wanted more.
This was a good story and I liked it. It was enjoyable and definitely worth reading. However it felt rushed and was too short, it needs pacing rather than going from zero to sixty in two seconds.
A sweet story of coming out in a most dramatic way. A good story with enough of both angst and drama. I can definitely see more Trevor and Benjamin in the future.
