Gargoyles #2

When a Gargoyle Lives

Rate this book
They’re alive!
More than a month has passed since Kylie and Luc faced a wannabe megalomaniac intent on using gargoyles as his own personal army, and they are more in love than ever. They have begun awakening the gargoyles from their thousand-year slumber, and now four more gargoyles have now joined their new clan. Among them, an aging warrior with a newfound love of TV, a shy, damaged female, a male they keep locked in the basement – it’s for the best – and a young male, Amalric.
While Amalric mourns the loss of his old life – and butts horns with his new clan chief as often as possible – he realizes the true loneliness of being one of only five gargoyles alive in the world. As he contemplates the possibility of taking a mate, he finds that fate may just have a surprise for him – and he has the bite marks to prove it.
But, the danger facing the newly reawakened gargoyles is not over. They face new enemies who wish to use the gargoyles for their own machinations, and they’re just the tip of the crazy iceberg.
Caution is advised as this is intended for mature readers only - it contains scenes of a sexual nature between an alpha male gargoyles and humans.

*WARNING* this book is for mature readers do to violence and sexual content.
This is book two, but can be read without reading book 1 first.
I like this story. I like how the gargoyles are adapting to their new world. I like how all of the goyles have such different personalities. This is a good storyline. It has lots of action and is well written..

Might Deserve Higher

As a romance which is what this is marketed as this really only gets about a three stars because the romance wasn't a high focus of the story, nor was it well developed. It was clear that even the writer herself saw the romantic leads as children and the adult scenes between them were hesitant because of this viewpoint.

As an urban fantasy story however I'd rate it a high four stars. The world building continues to grow and develop in this world. Each new character introduced adds a richness to the story which as a reader I deeply enjoy and admire. All the layers and characters of this reality are interesting and the plot is a wonderful mix of humor, fantasy, drama and excitement. I want to know what happens next and I definitely look forward to reading more of this series.

Gargoyles!!!!

I am loving this series!! The author's creative writing is just wonderful. These tales are reminding me of the Gargoyle cartoons. I loved watching those with my kids. This book has brought back some really good memories. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This is a great story, there are just some editing problems that detract from the telling. If the comma splice and sentence fragments were cleaned up, this would be at 5 star book.

Ms. Price has created an interesting world! The gargoyles and their friends are entertaining! Each book seems to feature a different couple finding their HEA, but the rest of the cast are very involved in the story. This could be read as a stand-alone, but it is much more enjoyable after having read the first book. I usually won't read a romance if the heroine is young and especially if she is still in high school, but I didn't find Brenda to be juvenile and she was 18 anyway and technically an adult. Despite there being so many characters in the story, the author does a good job of making everything easy to follow, without long information dumps. I can't wait to read more in their series to keep up with the current characters, discover new couples, and find out what happens against the gargoyles' enemy.

Absolutely LOVE this new series bring on the gargoyles.

I came across the first book in the series on amazon for free no less and became hooked even though at the time I wasn't sure if there would be more books on the series.
In this second installment of the gargoyle series the story continues with luc and kylie's pov but now more characters are added to the mix, new gargoyles are awakened, new humans are introduced and a new love relationship blooms and some new love interests are hinted at that will probably take place in the next book. In this story more is explained about the bad guys who want to control the gargoyles and more plot twists are revealed regarding the fate of the gargoyles, the enemies they are about to face and a juicy tidbit on our main character's luc and kylie.
I enjoyed this book immensely and would recommend it if you've never read a gargoyle genre book before (this was my first one too) just fyi there are some mature scenes in the book tasteful nothing to make the book overly erotic. My only comment would be that due to all the new pov's in the story I was left wanting more of luc and kylie and ric and brenda BUT is understandable if we want the story to flow seeing as alot happens. Each pov connects the story together over multiple perspectives and how the characters feel, what can I say other than I love me some gargoyle romance and that's why I can't get enough of these characters and am ANXIOUSLY awaiting the next installment pleeeeease E A Price don't make me wait to long.

Another great series by E A Price

I loved the first book in this series, and enjoyed the second one. Absolutely can't wait for the next instalment.

It follows on about a month after the end of the first book and Kylie has managed to wake up 3 male gargoyles and one female. I loved how Gracchus is addicted to American crime shows on TV and Annis is thrilled with the wonders of the washing machine. I liked how it didn't totally jump into the story of Brenda and Ric and you get an overall sense of the story and all the characters. You learn more about how Kylie and Luc are doing, and who the Gargoyles are being hunted by. The character development and getting into the depth of story is great, the humour was fab - my favourites being Annis putting a gun in the fridge for everyone safety and Ric struggling with human sayings.

The book did end on a cliff hanger, which I don't usually like, but it wasn't one that left you with loose ends and not ending the story properly. The story between Ric and Brenda had a conclusion and this is more like a good lead up to the next one in the series, which is hopefully out soon.

I've been waiting for this book for a while now, and I'm so glad that I finally got to read about Luc and Kylie again. I mean, last we left off the evil Ophelia was flying around free to spread havoc to all humans. I really enjoyed Brenda and Ric, although I wish she was just a bit older so she wouldn't have to answer to anybody. No worrying about school and all that stuff. :) I'm hoping that there will be more gargoyles mating in the next book of the series because that makes it so much fun to read. I wish that there weren't so many people out to get them though, but that's just me. :) I did think that it was unique to have a gargoyle who was born here in our time. I'm really hoping that they're just going to be one big happy family. The story was very well written, however it does end in a cliffhanger (my personal pet peeve). It was overall an incredible read.

I'm on the fence with this book. I liked the first book of the series but this book, not so much. Why? Because the heroine of the story is a high school student. Yes, she is eighteen years old (barely) but she is in high school. I simply can't accept this as being a romance novel.

The book was good, aside from that fact. I wish that the author had made the heroine a freshman in college, that would have changed my ratings completely but as it stands, I have to give this a 3 stars, grudgingly. I give it 3 because of the secondary characters and because it was a good book and an unusual world that I do want to know more about. I just hope that the next books the author takes care in making the characters older than high school age.

Still freaking awesome. I loved the first one and I loved this one. I loved that he was a little rebellious and gave us insight to his age. I loved her and her Uncle and hope he gets with Annis. I want the next story to be either about them or about Dragoslava. I loved that he had more of a role in this one. I loved him in his actions and his small speaking part. To be honest, he has been my favorite character since he was introduced as having issues with the wakening. I loved this and can't wait until the next one. Please hurry!!!!

Loved It

The story had passion, humor, romance, and was exciting. Loved that the previous characters from book one were there with the new characters. A must buy book and keep them coming.

Lab rat

The unique world the gargoyles came from starts to play in the modern world. The society they came from is completely different from today, adjustment issues aside they still love the same

Continued quality

Good world building. Some might be bothered by the 18 year old mating, but she was sufficiently matured to pass muster for me.

Loving This Series

This author continued to engage my undivided attention. Her writing is entrancing and her character development is great. Descriptive with intelligence, witty banter and some comedic scenes show an erudite imagination. You'll want to start with book one, and read them in order. I'm very happy to have found this series!
