This is the third book in the Dennison Siblings series. While I would recommend reading the first two books you do not need to. These can each be read as a stand alone. I have read all of Ms. Ferraro’s books so of course I am very familiar with the Dennison clan. But I have to say that Reed is a little different from the rest of them. Which of course makes sense because each sibling has their own personality. But I think he is different from what I expected him to be.
Reed is the currently the DA and is looking to run for State Senate in the very near future. He is not a guy to make his personal life public. He doesn’t have a girlfriend and really isn’t looking for one. When he first sees Colby in the coffee shop he cannot stop thinking about her. He finds himself going to the shop more than once a day just to see her. When they finally do meet and talk, they both agree to a no strings attached, sex only relationship, which is perfect for Reed. Right now his career is everything to him and he does not need to fall in love. But he is a guy after all and no strings sex works for him. But at some point Colby tells Reed that she is moving in with her cousin and any relationship that they had is over.
It isn’t long before they both realize that Colby has moved to the same town that he lives in and soon becomes friends with all of the people that he sees the most. Reed has never been able to get Colby out of his head. Seeing her again makes him want to be with her again. But Reed I a very private guy who does not share any bit of his personal life with anyone, not even his family. Between trying to keep his sex life a secret and putting his career first, will he end up ruining the best thing that has ever happened to him?
I have loved W. Ferraro’s work since the very beginning. I read her fist book and have read every book after that. She is a fantastic writer and boy does she know how to write a hot and sexy scene. So it kills me to say that this was not one of my favorites. It wasn’t because of the writing, because as always Ms. Ferraro did a wonderful job. But for me I just did not connect with these characters at all. And to be quite honest I was not a fan of Reed’s. And I love every hero that Ms. Ferraro writes but there was something about Reed that just made me mad.
I get that Reed liked to keep things in his life to himself and I understand that Colby agreed to it all. But I never felt the emotional connection between them. To me it was all about lust and sex and to be honest I was not sure where it came from. For me Reed was a mystery that I wanted to solve, except that I seemed to be missing some pieces to the puzzles. Therefore I didn’t understand his issues and where they came from.
I don’t want to go into detail or my reasons because I don’t want to spoil it and because I am obviously in the minority with this one. But I just felt like he took advantage of his relationship with Colby in a way. She was falling for him and I think for that reason she went along with what he felt he needed. I wanted Colby to break down his walls, find out why he feels the nee to be in control and at the same time I want Reed to fight for Colby. I wanted more of the romantic and emotional side to their relationship . He somewhat redeemed himself in the end but for me it just wasn’t enough to fall in love with him.
Overall the writing is great, the sex scenes are hot and I loved the friendships that Colby formed with Reed’s family. I loved the supporting characters and cannot wait to see more of this family. I really cannot wait for Mason’s book because he seems to be a very interesting character. Overall an enjoyable read that I think most people will love.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. I was not sure how I would enjoy this book at first because as the story unfolds it is talking about D.A. Reed Dennison and his campaign for Senate. I am not the biggest fan of politics and was worried that the book would be a lot of jargon and things I did not understand. However, it turns out that is not how this book was. After the initial bit in the beginning, the book branches out into the story of Reed and Colby and the political side is just little bits thrown in here and there.
Reed met Colby in the coffee shop where she was working, he came to this coffee shop every day over and over again and never saw her, until one day she was the one who served him. She would never look at him, just put his coffee down and then not pay attention to him. Until the day he went in for his usual coffee and then went back in later in the afternoon and then again on his way home that evening. He was ready to give up as he left that evening but as he got in his car someone spoke to him. He ended up walking home with her and that began their insanely passionate, casual affair.
“In the neighborhood,” he answered, never letting his eyes waver from hers.
And there it was.
The smile that could most definitely light up a city block. The way the apple of her cheeks perfectly rounded and how her lips parted to show perfect white teeth.
He could already feel his body react and knew without a doubt he made the right decision coming here.”
Colby Jackson is an artist about to embark on a new adventure, she is getting ready to move to be closer to her cousin Paige. The only thing she is sad about with moving is leaving her ongoing affair with the hot Reed Dennison, one more passionate night together and they say their goodbyes. Five days later with her cousins’ truck packed up with Colby’s boxes they make the hour drive to Colby’s new apartment. Colby is thrilled with her new apartment and gets to meet her new neighbors, a group of men who immediately cannot stop flirting with her. Paige takes her down to the restaurant where she helped Colby get a job and then they go back to Paige’s for a girls’ weekend.
“Paige, how are you, sweetie?” the woman asked, as she gave Paige a quick hug before turning to Colby. “And you must be Colby. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Molly Dennison.”
Cobly shook the woman’s extended hand and couldn’t help but feel the hair on the back of her neck prickle at the mention of her last name. I never realized how popular of a name it was.
“So nice to meet you, Ms. Dennison, thank you for the opportunity to work for you.”
As Colby settles in to her new life, Reed gets back to his own. When he goes to visit his brothers he is surprised to learn that his hot little artist is now their next door neighbor. Colby is taken aback when she learns that her new neighbors are none other than Reed’s brothers. As Colby is integrated into Reeds life in an offhand way he realizes that seeing all the different men fawning over her is making him feel things he has never felt for another woman. Jealousy, possessiveness, rage, heartache. One night after he takes her home with him, his campaign manager stops in for an impromptu visit and things are said that leave Colby hurt and make her walk away. Can Reed stop his heartache and win her back before someone else steals her away or will he lose his chance for good.
This was a very good read, filled with some very intense sex and some amazing fun characters. I give this a very solid 4 cupcakes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 1/2 Falling Stars
Reed Dennison has goals. His career and plans of achieving public office come before all else. Except when he's with Colby Jackson. Something or someone always comes first in those encounters, and it's not a ballet or a vote. Colby's attitude and lifestyle are very appealing. It is a pleasure to read about a character who doesn't stress everything and has appealing Philosophies on living and Savoring life.
Reed can be a bit of a knob at times. Could be his personality type, these type A personalities don't always know what will make them happy; but they are determined to succeed-even if it means being miserable.
At one point, Reed's inner thoughts are a little obsessed with the notion Colby will tell people of their affair, he doesn't want people to know they had sex. He pretends they never met before when they reunite.
This was a problem for me. Considerably lowers my opinion of Reed and it wasn't that high initially. He could be a real female dog at times. On the other hand...
There is a truly amazing scene that these two lovers share with the creation of a painting during an intimate encounter. The story is fantastic, original, well told, even paced and the visual imagery is so realistic! The author is as great an artist as Colby, the only difference being she paints a story through her words.
I absolutely love the writing and the female lead. In a small way I do wish Reed could be tweaked to be a little more worthy of Colby. I may even have rooted for one of the firefighters to snatch her heart away from Reed. I was a ReedHater. However, the heart wants what the heart wants. Colby's heart belonged to Reed the moment she met him. Colby is not only really cool, she is willing to give people chances and finds forgiveness that I would struggle for in my heart.
The other side to this, however, is to acknowledge that Reed couldn't have treated Colby so poorly at times unless she allowed it. She kept encouraging bad behavior. When she finally had enough...he stopped refusing to fall.

Reed Dennison is the sexiest brother yet!
I honestly didn't think I could love a Dennison man more than Gage, but along comes Reed and blows that notion right out of the water. He's charming, successful and as District Attorney, extremely guarded about his private life.
Colby is an artist, working as a barista to make ends meet. It's where she meets Reed and they begin their affair. Colby is different. She's straight-forward, doesn't care much about what people think, but has a heart of gold.
What I love about this third book in the Dennison series, is that you see the internal struggle Reed is going through. He is afraid to admit to himself that he actually feels more for Colby than just a quick fling. Wendy did a great job getting in his head and putting those struggles down on paper.
It takes a little while, but Colby grows a backbone and decides she's worth more than the secrecy and sneaking around that Reed offers, all the while trying to bury the growing feelings she has for Reed.
Wendy certainly knows how to write stubborn men, even stronger women and explosive chemistry and passion between them. Thank goodness she made the Dennison family is large; then we won't be saying goodbye to this fabulous family anytime soon!
If you want beautiful yet some-what angsty love stories, pick up this series. All of the books can be read as stand-alones, but I highly suggest starting with book 1 Afraid To Fall to get the full effect of the sexy Dennison men!

Ms. Ferraro has again introduced us to another hottie to fall in love with. I guarantee you will fall in love with Reed Dennison.

When he meets beautiful artist, Colby at a coffee shop by his office, he is on cloud nine, until she ends their affair when she moves. Reed is surprised and stunned when she moves to his hometown. Colby is equally surprised at the coincidence. She is unsure how to acknowledge him in front of his family. Reed suggests keeping their relationship a secret for now. Colby hesitantly agrees too. When Reed's public career becomes less private, Colby feels she needs to end things with Reed. Will Reed realize his true feelings for Colby, before it's too late? Or will Colby move on to someone else, because she can't have who her heart wants?

This was a fantastic book!!! What I loved most was that it was a perfect ending !!!!! The books I have read lately have been good but when it comes to the end it feels like it's all rushed !!!!!!! Great job Wendy loved it!!!!

To say Reed is a perfectionist would be a huge understatement! He has things he wants a certain way and he’ll do anything to make sure it goes that way!! He likes control at all costs. That all changes when he meets Colby and she throws his world into a tailspin to say the least.
I loved Reed and Colby’s story. It’s fiery, sexy and had it’s funny moments!! I was so enthralled while reading it was hard for me to put this down!! I wanted to know what was going to happen next!! I will be reading more from W in the future!

This may be the third in the series but I hold my hands up in surrender because this is punching well above its weight.
Refusing to Fall is a fabulously hot and wicked ride, Reed will take you on a trip that you are never ever going to want to end, I know I didn’t.
He has his life planned out, he knows where he is going and how he intends to get there, he leaves nothing to chance and is very guarded and intensely private when it comes to certain matters, even going as far as to ensure that when it comes to his privacy even his friends and family on a strictly need to know basis.
Now this had me questioning what the heck had made him that way and why was he so shady?

What the heck was up with Reed and his demand for privacy? Was he hiding more than she could cope with or was he just hiding Colby? I certainly got the impression that she thought the latter.
There was more to this story than just the push me/pull me situation with Colby and Reed and there are more characters that will have you enthralled than you can shake a stick at but what you will not be able to do is pull yourself away from the mystery and intrigue of the whole situation.
Refusing to Fall is a fabulously hot and wicked ride, Reed will take you on a trip that you are never ever going to want to end, I know I didn’t.
He has his life planned out, he knows where he is going and how he intends to get there, he leaves nothing to chance and is very guarded and intensely private when it comes to certain matters, even going as far as to ensure that when it comes to his privacy even his friends and family on a strictly need to know basis.

Refusing to fall describes the book in the best possible way. Reed is the kind of person who doesn't want strings. That's why he and Colby never become a couple in this book.
Unfortunately, I found this book lacking on the romance side and I believe Reed's unwillingness to acknowledge his feelings is to blame. Most of the book is about him acting possessive towards Colby and trying to stake his claim, but his status is always single. He didn't spend any of his time trying to woo her. Instead, he was trying to get her into his bed. I didn't want something big to prove that Reed wanted Colby in his life, I wanted him to prove that she means something to him in little ways. The police officer who was trying to win Colby's affections did a better job at wooing and being there for her which is very sad. I feel sorry for Colby. She was such a nice person and she deserved someone who was more affectionate towards her.
I would have liked to read more about the story that happens after the last five chapters. I think that's where I would have found the romance I wanted to read about. Reed might have done something big in the end, but I don't count that.

Refusing to Fall by W. Ferraro was a first time read for me. Refusing to fall is the 3rd book in Dennison series. W. Ferraro did a wonderful job writing this story it was written with a great storyline that moved at a great pace. Never did I feel like things moved too quickly nor were there times that things fell flat. I loved how different this story and the main characters were. I also loved how much I was pulled me into the story right from the prologue and was kept engaged for the entire story. Refusing to Fall is about a District Attorney named Reed; he is charming, successful, and extremely private about his personal life. Then there is Colby she an artist, working as a barista to make ends meet. It's where she meets Reed and they begin their affair. Colby Is straight-forward, doesn't care much about what people think, but has a heart of gold. Reed Dennison prides himself on perfection. Strategizing and maneuvering himself into positions of success in his professional life; all the while holding every detail regarding his personal life close to the vest. For Reed, every aspect must be controlled everything must be in its place and the impeccable public image can never falter. Well that is his plan anyways until a routine coffee run morphs into the first of many fiery encounters with the sexy artist Colby Jackson. Their explosive, yet casual, affair ends, and they part ways never expecting to see each other again. I ♥️ everything and every minute of this book and would definitely recommend it to my friends who read the same books I do.

Refusing to fall is the 3rd book in W. Ferraro’s Dennison series, and I must say that the Author has done it again! Reed Dennison is a Hot driven man, he has plans for his life and has a very set way of doing things, his privacy being top priority. Reed never saw the need to share his personal life with his family or friends. Even after he meets Colby in a coffee shop and can’t seem to shake her from his thoughts. What happens next will change everything for both of them, regardless of what they have in mind.

Well as always W. Ferraro has brought us a sexy, caring, alpha lead man and a sexy & sweet leading lady. These two are off the chart with their steamy sexy scenes!
Reed Dennison is a man with high career goals and he doesn't want anyone to get in his way and that means his personal life is exactly that personal with no room for him to be tied down to one lady no matter how much his family wants him to settle down.
Colby Jackson is all for having fun and moving on to the next great thing when she is ready to go. BUT what she wasn't ready for was finding Reed and letting him go.

The 3rd book in the Dennison series. This is book is about the brother Reed Dennison. Reed is a driven man who didn't share his private life with his family like his brothers have. He meets Colby in a coffee shop and cant keep his mind of her. Things start to change when he meets Colby. There is more to Colby story than Reed knows. What is she holding back? How will Reed handle this relationship with Colby? I have to say this author has done it again with this book. Reed is a sexy hot man that will have you wanting it all. The sex is off the charts hot. This author never lets me down with her books.

Finally another Dennison to drool over... Reed is the quiet private brother of the rambunctious bunch but he his completely turned upside down by the petite, beautiful, artist that he meets getting coffee... Being with Colby makes Reed consider things he never thought he wanted and care less about the things he thought he did when he faces the reality of losing her forever.. this is great story about love beating the odds and finding it when you least expect or want it.. Can't wait for the next book and to see which sexy brother it will be...

Another of my favorites, that I'll read again
I hardly ever write reviews anymore but I couldn't let this book go without saying. I really love this series. In fact there isn't a book that W. Ferraro has published that I haven't bought instantly and read them. That being said.. The Dennison men are my favorite of all book guys. They are alpha all the way and they are hard to love. When they fall it's the best story you have ever read! I can't wait for the next book to come. I'm hoping it's gonna be Mason's and he won't disappoint.

I want to thank Stephanie because a while ago she said you have to read these books by W. Ferraro and I read that series back to back and I became a huge fan of her writing. I have loved every single word of the Dennison Series.
Her writing is like magic. Every single word and detail bring you into the world of the book. She creates a movie of the story in your head. She also knows how to create sexy as sin men. The Dennison brother's are HOT!
I was addicted to the story and all of the characters.

This book sadly was not my cup of tea. I didn't find it as sexy and romantic as other books. However, I felt that W. Ferraro did do a fantastic job at creating a romance that others crave.

The Dennison family is the one you always want to be around, the house you want to hang out at. These men are seriously hot!! Reed is the next to fall in love with. This man who is always in control will be tested by none other than a woman who has gotten under his skin in ways that you wish you could. Steamy in the bedroom but twisted outside of it. This story took me on a ride. Even when I thought there was no hope Wendy makes me believe in every Dennison. It is a world that sucks you in and leaves you wanting more. What more can you ask for in a book?
