There is something wildly heart warming about Xander playing therapist to a bunch of neurotic hell demons.

It's painfully sweet to see him in his element. He's never been one of my favorite Scoobies...he was always too much the misogynist foil for Buffy's empowered feminism. The way he judged her for not wanting him always made my skin crawl.

I'm glad he's found real growth and depth in the comics.

Now if they could just stop throwing wrenches in my beautiful Spuffy romance....

Dawn y Xander están buscando maneras de sobrevivir en la dimensión infernal en la que se encuentran, Anharra. Dawn demuestra gran parte de sus habilidades mágicas, que vienen implícitas con grandes conocimientos. Por ejemplo, saber qué alimentos son dañinos y cuáles no para ellos, por lo que puede perfectamente darle a Xander alternativas de alimento lo suficientemente buenas. Además, puede visualizar cada portal interdimensional a sus alrededores. Lamentablemente, ninguno de ellos sirve para poder llegar a la Tierra sin destruir las barreras dimensionales que intentan proteger. Xander y Dawn caminan por el lugar y encuentran a un demonio, el cual intenta asesinar a Xander, y que es detenido con facilidad por Dawn. Lo toman como una especie de guía, hasta que empieza a caer sobre ellos una lluvia de ácido tan fuerte que puede destruir cualquier materia. Los lugareños demoníacos les explican que son nómadas y no tienen casas debido a esa lluvia, la cual destroza sus techos en cuestión de horas. De esta manera, Xander les enseña a construir casas con techos inclinados para que estos sean duraderos, haciendo que la lluvia ácida se resbale. Poco a poco, Xander y Dawn van ganando confianza con los demonios.

Buffy está desesperada, con un humor espantoso por no poder encontrar la forma de llegar a Dawn y Xander. Interroga violentamente a personajes relacionados con la magia, pero sin éxito. Incluso pelea con Willow y Giles. A la cazadora se le ocurre que, si no hay manera de encontrarlos, tendrá que recurrir al libro Vampyr. Spike tiene que intervenir y explicarle por qué los resultados secundarios de pata de mono del libro hacen de aquella una mala idea. Willow convoca una reunión con el Consejo para que estos sepan de sus planes de utilizar el libro pero sabiamente. Lo que no saben es que D'Hoffryn ha asesinado a cada miembro del Consejo para quedarse con sus poderes. Cuando se presenta ante ellos, les quita el libro Vampyr fácilmente, sin que la Scooby Gang sea rival.

Xander y Dawn descubren que la firma de abogados Wolfram & Hart tiene una sede en Anharra.

What can I say? It is a comic based on a TV series. Buffy the Vampire Slayer ran seven seasons and for fans it was not enough so Josh Whedon started season 8 in comic book form and I have been following it. Fortunately for me the comic seasons took the show exactly where I wished it to go culmanating in Season 10. This particular issue is #26 of 30 which ends Season 10. Not sure if there will be a Season 11. I think it has been a well done series. Could have been written as a novel.

I really really hope that all the awesome that Zander is doing (showing the demons all about architecture and "The Princess Bride" helps him to win Dawn back)! Plus, Wolfram and Hart! Oh, and all the "Labyrinth" jokes. Seriously, so good. Though I don't think that Buffy would EVER wear that green and black stripped shirt, yuk.

The parts with Xander and Dawn are gold; pure comic genius, with an intriguing ending. That's the reason this issue gets five stars, but it's let down by the parts where Buffy and Spike use intimidation beat-em-up tactics to get information, which seems so out of character.
