Royce Reirdon, 69, has been phased out as a TV sports anchorman. On his way to his hometown to attend the funeral of his ex-wife, Reirdon reflects on his life, the mistakes he's made along the way and realizes he's led two lives -- one on camera, the other off. He was successful in front of the camera. Where he seemed to struggle was after the lights went out and he walked away from the announcer's booth and into the real world. Reirdon is ready to make some changes and reconcile with his family and get his life back on track, but there's a road block ahead, a detour along the highway which gets in the way of his plans.

The Loner, is the fourth Kindle book from author Dan Price, a former award-winning sports reporter, and his second adult fiction book. The Legend of Bucket Smith was released in 2014. Price also has two middle reader fiction books on Kindle -- Billy's Victory and The Return of Johnny Dugan.
