She wants the million dollars. I only want her.

Okay, well. The million would be nice, too. Me and my stepsister have always been competitive with one another. When my step-grandfather dies, he shocks the whole family by leaving his entire inheritance to me and my stepsister.

The catch?

We have to compete for it. The first person to get married by the end of the year gets the money.

What she doesn't know is that I plan on getting her. And nothing's going to stop me.

This steaming-hot novel contains explicit sex scenes, cursing, and a HEA.

Vesper Vaughn likes bad boys. A lot.

She always wanted to be a writer. Then one day, a hot guy named Wilder strolled through her head. And then another named Cruz. Then there was Zane. And Jax. And Dylan. Then she discovered that writing was a dirty job she was more than happy to do.

When she's not writing smoking hot sex scenes, she can be found binge-watching television shows with her family, hiking, and drinking gin and tonics.

Hot and steamy with a little sweetness thrown in!!

~~~I received an ARC of Desire by Vesper Vaughn for an honest review!~~~
Desire is the second book that I have read by Vesper Vaughn, and boy am I hooked!!!
Darcy and Dylan!! What's to say about these two? Darcy is the smart/nerdy soccer playing girl who was a year behind (in high school) the small town football star Dylan. Darcy has had a crush on Dylan for the longest time, even well before their parents got married. Then at a party before Dylan goes off to college, they are playing spin the bottle and Darcy spins with Dylan on the receiving end of the bottle. So in the DARK closet, Dylan gives Darcy an unexpected kiss to remember, then disappears. He heads out to college with no backward glances and no communication with Darcy, even though they had grown close and talked about anything. Darcy is heartbroken. A year later at Darcy’s graduation party, missing the graduation itself, Dylan shows up and she goes and hides.
Five years later, Darcy is at a NYE party in New York, where she’s been living in an small ramshackle of an apartment with a friend, she is partying and enjoying herself when who sweeps in to defend her honor, delivering another searing kiss?!?! The next day she contacts him and demands that he goes home for their grandma and grandpa’s wedding anniversary. That is until she gets a frantic call from her mother that grandpa Jim died. Dylan sweeps in and winks her back to San Antonio, TX, for the funeral. The will is read, though there is a surprise results that has all the family in an uproar. Knowing how competitive Darcy and Dylan are, their grandpa left them a challenge...to the winner goes the spoils. And they have less than a year to complete the challenge to their grandma’s satisfaction.
Let the games and heartbreak begin.
I loved Grandma Betty. She was a funny and interesting character. I have a feeling I would be saying the same thing about Grandpa Jim as well. I wish we would of go to see more of his character in the book but what we got to see shows you that Jim and Betty were a lot a like. You could also tell that they both truly loved Dylan and Darcy.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in a fantastic step-brother romance!!
I received this for a honest review. This is the first book I have read of Vesper Vaughn. I just love the taboo of the stepbrother books. Before you get your knickers all in a wad, these two were not raised together from small children. There parents got married when they were older in life.
There was so much sexual tension between Darcy and Dylan. Here they were not only fighting their feelings but the taboo itself. They were worried what others like their parents and friends would think.
I loved how competitive these two were. They both loved soccer and I think Dylan's dad loved to see them two play together. Reading this book I have to wonder if Dylan's dad knew about the feelings that Darcy and Dylan were having. There were just a few things that made me think this. It was funny who it would eat at the two of the to see which one could beat the other. Oh, and how they loved to pick on each other.
I though it was interesting reading about their exs I have to say that I could not really see with Dylan's Ex was really that bad. Lana who was Dylan's ex seemed like a good person. Now Darcy's Ex was a different story. He was a true jerk and truly needed to be taught a lesson. You will have to read the book to see why I say that.
I loved Grandma Betty. She was a funny and interesting character. I have a feeling I would be saying the same thing about Grandpa Jim as well. I wish we would of go to see more of his character in the book but what we got to see shows you that Jim and Betty were a lot a like. You could also tell that they both truly loved Dylan and Darcy.
Grandpa Jim had passed. He was leaving his inheritance to both Darcy and Dylan but there was a catch, they had to both be married within a year and it had to be for love. Let's just say grandpa is a sly one. I loved how Grandpa Jim played on Darcy and Dylan's competitive nature.
This was an awesome book and so looking forward reading other books by this author.
Wow can you say love is not the strongest of emotions... Because I would call you a liar. It's so strong and confusing and irrational and passion filled. But it's also more it's satisfying and all consuming and priceless. This story tells you all this and more. I was given this wonderful read in exchange for an honest review and I got say it's heart crushingly beautiful. The story is about Darcy and Dylan finding thier ways back to each other, letting love have its way like it should have been allowed to since the beginning.
Darcy has been in love with her brother for ever, then one night things get more complicated or so she thinks. Many years later and lots of distance they see each other and things spark back but are they ready for what life has for them? Will she give the keys to her heart to the man who has owned it forever? Oh and boy is there a surprise in there somewhere....
Dylan has and always will love Darcy who cares that she is his stepsister love is love. And man does he hate every guy who looks or touched her. Because it should be him. After meeting up again he knows he needs her and works to keep her. Things happen and some super fun things happen and in the end he is left with just one question. Will he ask? Will thier parents accept them? What's the challenge?love love love this book..........
ARC generously provided in exchange for honest review.
I have said this already, but MAN I LOVE VESPER VAUGHN'S BOOKS!!!
I found her by accident, and now I'm an addict. So much so that I am scouring my kindle for more stepbrother romances.
This book was just as amazing as the first book I had read by her. This book follows Dylan and Darcy who are.... Yep you guessed it, step-siblings. These two are HOT for each other, and have been since the day they met.
I felt that this book was tastefully written (I have come across some step-brother books that grossed me out completely). Darcy and Dylan's parents were married after both of them were older, and Darcy had had a crush on her older step-brother from the get go.
This book was a quick read (I know it took me 2 days to read it, which isn't quick for me, stinking yard work) that will leave you wanting more of Dylan and Darcy. I am in awe of Ms. Vaughn and I truly cannot wait to see what she brings to the table next. Rest assured that it will be amazing like all of her other books I have read.
This is the second book that I have read by Vesper Vaughn. I love her books. Darcy had a crush on Dylan before their parents got married. Dylan is a couple of years older and left for college not to long after their parents marriage. The night of Darcy's graduation brought Dylan home and a game of spin the bottle fueled the flames to their taboo desires. But, these flames fizzled immediately afterwards. Fast forward several years and Dylan comes to Darcy's rescue at a party. The desire is still there, but the feeling of being abandoned by Dylan keeps Darcy running. A family tragedy makes Darcy and Dylan have to come together. An inheritance in the form of a game may finally force these two to expose their true feelings.
Desire is a good swift read. I couldn't put it down. I needed to see where Darcy and Dylan's story was going to take me. Although the characters were young, they made some mature decisions. The chemistry between the two main characters was sizzling. I highly recommend this taboo read!
This book took me a long time to read not because it was long but because I was busy. Nonetheless this book was cute, funny, and a quick read if you are not busy. The chemistry between the main characters was off the charts and had me wishing that Dylan (the male main character) was in love with me. I loved the banter between Darcy (Darce) and Dylan, it was funny. The challenge they had between them because of them being step siblings and with their grandfather leaving them a challenge of whoever gets married first wins his money and him knowing they would end up together was amazing. I also loved that they had to make everything a competition. I didn't expect their to be a secret pregnancy in the midst. If you love books where the step siblings fall in love, competitions, and funny story, this book is for you.
I love it! This is my favorite Vesper Vaughn book yet. This book is funny, sweet, and sexy. It's clear from the beginning that Dylan and Darcy have unresolved feelings for each other but it's mostly Dylan's musings about Darcy that are shared with us and it's clear how much he loves her. There are so many crazy moments that made me smile, like the speed dating and the soccer competition. If ever two people were meant to be together it's Dylan and Darcy if they can just stand strong in the face of family disapproval.
I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
