The NOLA Zombie series comes to a close with this emotional and action-packed installment.

Since the SHTF, Romeo is good at one thing, killing zombies. He doesn’t want to waste his time with anything else. His fellow survivors think of him as a machine and he’s fine with that. There isn’t any time to waste on things, like feelings, or other nonsense.

Lena Dervay, former movie star, current walking victim has barely been surviving in a repurposed middle school run by an incompetent Army Lieutenant. She and her group of survivors are as good as dead if they stay put. When Lena finally gets in touch with Romeo, she knows that if anyone can come in and save the day, it’s him. Problem is, Romeo isn’t the charming, white knight, hero that she remembers. Lena is still drawn to him, though, and as their paths intersect she knows she might not come out intact in the end, body or soul.

I knew that I like Romeo and this was the icing on the cake after all the Post Z mess for both characters. The best part of this book was finally getting to see what made Romeo how he was behind all the tough solider facade. I really wanted more at the end, but I can't complain with the glimpse into the future that we did get!!

Is the series really over??

GAHHH THIS HAD EVERYTHING I WANTED IN A PA ZOMBIE ROMANCE, only it sold itself short with the mediocre plot. The story was average, and the ending a little rushed, but I loved the dynamics and chemistry between Romeo and Lena. Their love story was beautiful, and I would have loved to see more.

Characters weren't perfect, and there wasn't much going on for the plot.

Guess this was just a thrill ride for readers seeking this specific genre.

ROMEO was kidding himself when he said he didn't have any feelings for Lena. No one, and I mean no one (unless they got freaking paid for it) would travel solo, across a zombie infested land just to rescue a woman who didn't mean anything to him. No duty or honour would move someone that much, that's for sure. The man was just fucking stubborn.

LENA was useless. And I don't mean that in a bad way. She's an actress turned victim of an apocalypse, a frightened civilian who can't do anything but maybe cook a mean pancake. Anyone would be scared out of their wits in her situation, and Lena was brave and strong despite her inferiority complex.

OVERALL the reason why I enjoyed this mostly was because I'm a sucker for a military/marine MMC and well, Romeo certainly proved his worth as a safe harbour for anyone, male or female during an apocalypse. Yum!

I don't want it to end!!!

I don't want this series to end, I love it too much! For that alone, I wish the ending was a little bit more detailed and the epilogue longer. But I'll take what I get. I'm hoping more books will come based off of other characters or groups of survivors around the world.

Romeo finally got his happily ever after and thankfully, they both lived in the end. He was closed off and robotic throughout the other books and some of this book, but when he went to save Lena, a famous actress he was guarding with the Zone virus hit, he couldn't fight his feelings for her. He puts his foot in his mouth a few times and she was quite the crybaby at times, but they get it together in the end.

This book has the usual amount of action, adventure, and sexiness as all the ones before it. Some major wrenches were thrown in the mix, that I didn't see coming and it may've had me screaming at my tablet like a crazy person. All in all, awesome book. Awesome series. Awesome characters. I really look forward to more books from this author. And can only hope they're sexy zombie books ;)

This was the last book in this series and I was sad to see it end. I really enjoyed the characters and this one was kind of a second chance romance with twists and turn! I was hooked. Romeo and Lana were so good together. Lana was weaker but that balanced out with Romeos need to protect. I was really sad to see it all come to an end but the ending was very fitting. I will read more from this author in the future. 4 stars #2OCCJD

I actually considered rating this book lower but, I like Rome. Lena was a wimp. There, I said it. My issue is not with her panic attacks or inability to fight, but rather with her complacency at being a victim of her circumstances. She identified herself as one and then reserved herself to being one. She never seemed to want to be more/better. It was really tiresome listening to her go on about it. My breaking point was her looking at Romeo differently after the incident with Clara.

Definitely 5 Stars Series

This book was just as fantastic as the previous four books? It holds your attention through out and keep you at the edge of your seat? All the characters were awesome and totally strong alpha males with strong alpha women as their mates. It's a series that will not disappoint in any way and highly recommended series?

This book actually felt like it had something to do with the zombie apocalypse. It focuses on Romeo and him accepting love. The storyline is fast paced and you finally learn more about some of the main characters. Zombies are at the Forefront of this book. I was surprised at the quick ending. Definitely felt like the author was ready to be done with the series.

Honor closes out the series, NOLA Zombie, with a heartfelt romance and action that will have you cheering for the team. We meet Tim "Romeo" Voiter and Lena Dervay in SHFT, 0.5 in the series, where Romeo is providing security to the actress who tries to give them the slip. At the cusp of the zombie outbreak, they both are running to save their lives. Romeo puts her in a rental car and she heads out while he goes to save his family. Lena doesn't make it far and Romeo bears a tragic loss. Now months later, their story picks up in Honor.

After the tragic loss of a family member and one of team members, Romeo has lost the will to care for anything. He sits on the judging council as they go through the gang's charged felons, bringing justice to the camp. It's not a glamorous job and in fact makes Romeo retreat ever more into himself, becoming cold and uncaring. When an unexpected call comes over the radio they have set up, Romeo finds out that Lena is still alive, his one regret being he let her go off on her own. When he can't get a group to help rescue them, he heads off to bring the group to them.

Lena Dervay is just surviving. She's not a prima donna like others, but the situation is bleak as her group has holed up in a middle school that continually gets breached by zombies. With that constant fear riding her, she also has to contend with incompetent Army Lieutenant who she slept with early on, but now is being stalked. Each day is a terror at staying alive, but also not being raped by an obsessive and power hungry man in charge.

This doesn't start off as a romance, but as a survival quest to save people and to redeem a small piece of Romeo who is so guilt ridden. There are alpha who doesn't need to prove himself and a weak man throwing his power around. Several women who are really the strength and reason of the world *smirks* and zombies roaming everywhere. A romance does blossom despite all that is against it. Past characters show up to be the badasses they always were to keep everyone safe.

I don't know the layout of New Orleans well, so I relied on the author's knowledge to get me around. There are tense moments as Romeo makes his way alone to their location and even more tense moments afterwards. The sexual tension is slow to burn up, but once it does, these two combust. Throw in an alpha woman who is second in charge throwing them together.

The story does have and ending that you can feel comfortable knowing it is over, but also it could be open to a new series. Not iron clad closures, but I do suspect we won't be visiting this world again. I like that the author didn't drag this series along to the point we grow tired of the characters and the situation. She ended it on a happy note, but I won't say why it was happy.

Overall, this was a great romance to end the series that I have grown to love. Everyone needs a Romeo in their life.

Honor by Gillian Zane
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
EEEP!! Romeo! I gotta tell ya I have been WAITING for his story. When we got the backstory this summer about him and Lena….EEEPPPP….excited……Have I mentioned I kinda had a thing for Romeo??? I mean tall drink of alpha water, YES PLEASE!!!
So Romeo is Mr. Island. He is not going to deal with his emotions. He is just going to compartmentalize them and not think about them. Thinking about stuff and processing grief just gets you weak, soft and dead. He is loyal and is going to help his family but he is not going to make a family. Families and woman are an extra dependent he doesn’t want or need in this Z world.
Lena is a beautiful woman who has been using her looks to get by in the Z world. Unfortunately the alpha she is currently using for protection can’t seem to understand that it’s over. Lena is kinda pathetic at times. She is all weepy and cries but at the same time allows herself to be a victim.
When Lena’s group makes contact with Romeos group, he goes on a mission to find her because he feels bad that he didn’t protect her when the Z virus happened. Lena is super excited because her dream man is coming for her…..or is he???? Romeo needs to help Lena get safe because he feels bad about how everything went down.
When they reconnect there is a stress and confusion because he want her and she wants him but he doesn’t want the complication of a woman in his life….Lemme tell ya…DRAMA!!! The push and pull between the two is crazy. He is a mess and she is a mess. There are times I wanted to throat punch both of them. I was glad to have Felicia, Lex and Baby there to help the two of them find their way to each other.

Gillian Zane, there is so much that want to say about the conclusion of this series . . . so here is how I will start. Thank You.

Thank you for taking readers on an out of this world experience. It's been one of those wild rides that I will relive and re-read over and over for years to come. It amazes me as a reader that you're able to take each novel to the next level increasing the thrill and growing the emotional attachment I have as a reader with each and every character in the Nola Series. So, once again thank you.

Honor was an incredible story written by Zane that captures the thrill of the hunt, and the passionate need to find love in a world lost to carnage and disease. We find ourselves traveling to new places in New Orleans and pushing boundaries that haven't been pushed before in this novel. The suspense and thrill are at an all time high as Romeo races against time to help Lena. This novel is full of action, suspense, drama, drama, drama, and when you think the drama is over there is even more drama.

There were several times reading this that my heart practically stopped. Lena and Romeo have this intense connection and regardless of how much they try and fight it, it's there. I love how Zane wraps up the series at the end. Even if it was heart stopping at times, a bit touch and go. I wasn't sure if I was going to scream, cry, yell, or smash my e-reader. But . . . she wrapped it all up in a nice pretty package and did the series justice. (Like what I did there . . . Justice ;)

I really can't wait to see what comes next! This is one incredible book that will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. In other words an epic finale to an EPIC Series.

Lena was tstl

I liked the ending and had really been looking forward to Romeos story. Unfortunately, Lena was such a TSTL character. The only thing to see in this chick was her hotness. She was afraid of everyhthing, willing to sleep with a guy for protection and a whiny character. She had panic attacks, one when zombies were coming through the gates. Great time for a panic attack! But no worries, she was already useless, so her in a ball isn't too much worse. Then she's afraid to get on a boat that looks like the one in jaws as she wonders if the lake has sharks! Seriously! She is constantly pouting and complaining. I didn't see any interaction between these two that would lead to him going from refusing to care for any woman in these times falling madly in love with him. No witty conversations, no bonding type scenarios between them. Her internal dialog was all needy and selfish as can be. She had 2 sisters with kids. One worked in a diner and struggled, while this chick has a 900 square ft closet! She never even wondered what happened to them until this story and it was a barely passing thought! If I were that rich my sister would not be struggling that hard. At least buy them a modest house, so the mechanic husband can support them and let the mom stay home with the kids. Offer to back her in a business. Something! That speaks to the kind of personages chick is. Nothing likeable about her. I think Felicia would have been more believable.

Romeo, Romeo, wherefore out thy Romeo?

He is in Honor and he is a grumpy a$~* who meets a vapid girl....or are they? I really enjoyed this one but I am seriously bummed that the series is finished. I really want more of the epilogue, like an entire book as epilogue. Gillian Zane what will you bring me next? I'll automatically one click.
