After spending the night together what will happen the next morning when he is gone, will she ever see him again or will she go through the rest of life wondering what could of happened.
This series will have you’re heart in pieces, you’re emotions being pulled and all over the place. I fell in love with this series and I hope that it will do the same to you. If I could find the words to describe how good it was, you will have to read it for yourself. M.S. Parker never disappoints when it comes to her work.
Firstly… two things annoy me about many of Parker’s books. They are great and the characters are fantastic… but they don’t need to be volumes. They don’t need to be a series. A single book would suffice.
The other thing that annoys me is the bonus books. I got to 83% and the book was done. The last 17% were chapters from two series I’d already read. Pointless.
That being said I did like this book… but, as much as I love Haze (I mean, come on what’s not to love?) but seriously Leighton frustrated the heck out of me. Now, I honestly do think that was completely intentional. I think you’re actually supposed to kind of dislike her… but she blows so hot and cold that you’re never sure what the heck is going through her head. I also don’t like the way she uses Ricky to get into Haze’s head. It’s beyond cruel. All I can say is, Leighton must be something truly incredible if he stuck around after everything she puts him through.
Another thing that isn’t explained is her Grandfather, Devlin’s sudden shift. I mean, it’s great and much welcomed, but he goes from stuffy, stern, suited and booted businessman to laughing, joking, dressed-down super-grandpa! I get that he can see and appreciate how good Haze is for his granddaughter and that he is starting to influence her on a positive way… but there really isn’t much of an explanation given.
There was certainly enough drama and intensity and you definitely get the feeling that Leighton’s life is in danger. I did work out quite early on who was behind it all… but I thought the way the kidnapper was outed was a bit rushed. I wanted more of a showdown. I wanted confrontation. I wanted justice for Leighton.
What I really like was the ending. These two, despite everything cling to each other, even though they both did their fair share of pushing each other away and denying their true feelings. I guess that’s why their coming together means so much by the end of the series.
All-in-all… really enjoyed it. Actually couldn’t put it down. Everyone needs a man like Haze in their life. A true hero in every sense of the word.
One night, at a house party, Haze Welch drags Leighton Machus' semi unconscious body out of the pool. Paramedics are called and she is diagnosed with a concussion, but because of who her grandfather is, she says no hospital. against his better judgement, Haze agrees and takes her back to his hotel. Only to keep an eye on her well being. She asks for one thing from him. "Make me forget" One night of passion and in the morning.... He's gone.
A mission goes wrong and Haze ends up the wrong side of an explosion. He saves another soldier's life, but ends up with an honourable discharge after the blast perforated his eardrum.
For saving his grandsons life, Devin Machus offers Haze a job as guaranteed bodyguard. No problem for an ex Special Forces.
Four years after their first encounter, Haze and Leighton come face to face and she has never forgiven him for just walking out on her all those years ago. But her grandfather has been getting threatening letters regarding Leighton.
Haze still cares for her, so protecting her just might turn out to be his toughest mission yet.
The story of Have and Leighton is a second chance romance with a bang! An impromptu meeting when he saves her from drowning in a pool turns into a night of passion that neither will forget and both will carry for the next 4 years.
Fate brings them back together when Haze saves her brother in a war zone. Both men are injured and sent back to the states.
From there it is a tumultuous reunion and a forced proximity when Leighton's grandfather hires Haze as her personal security. She thinks it is just to keep tabs on her, being the feckless heiress and party girl. What she does not know and the men keep from her, is she has a stalker who is getting more dangerous by the day.
This roller coaster ride of desire, dislike, unwelcomed feelings for one another blooms into a wonderful romance with a grand HEA!
I liked this author's series Seallionaire, so tried this series. I disliked the "heroine" throughout the first book, but wanted to see the hero's story continue. She was so completely annoying in a repetitive way in the second book, and he couldn't possibly love someone that shallow that much. I just couldn't take it enough to finish the second book, much less the series.
Wow, this series was full of drama beginning to the end. Surprisingly it was good. The story kept me interested. Characters were phenomenal. Although, I suspected the person behind the threats. Great book to read....The sex scenes are not hot as I like them. But still hot.
I fell in love with how Haze and Leighton came together as they played off each other's strengths. They are the reasons they both survived and became better people. Theirs was a true love story with just enough sex to make it good.
This book could have been waaaay shorter; their constant dance was beginning to annoy me - although I felt bad for Leighton (because men are usually clueless brutes, no matter how much they love you). Also, what did Haze end up doing with his life?
Really enjoyed this box set yet another amazing book m s Parker there was times I wanted to screen at the main characters a brilliant well written story
Just when you think MS Parker's books cannot get any hotter she gives us Hero, just the cover alone is drool worthy, and once you dive into the story Haze will capture your heart and longings.
Haze has to be one of my favorites of MS Parker, I mean after all he is a man in uniform and who can resist that.
Leighton is a rich, privillage girl who has it all and wants to rid herself of the strings her grandfather has her on.
Leighton and Haze share one night of amazing, off the charts sex, only for him to leave her without even a goodbye, just some cab money and a note, this was after he saved her from drowning and spent the night with her to make sure she did not have a concussion. What are the odds that four years later Haze would save the life of Leighton's brother. Haze may have survived the attack but he is unable to return to active duty due to his injuries being permenate.
Four years they happen to meet again when Leighton's grandfather hires Haze as her bodygruard (he wants to help Haze after saving his grandson). Both Haze and Leighton think that the other does not remember the amzing noght they spent together, even though Haze has thought of no other women since Leighton, watch as the sexual tension between these two tops the charts.
When Haze has had enough of Leighton and wants to quit, the grandfather will not let him when he drops a bomb of information to Haze.
book two First off lets just talk about the cover of this book, it is so HOT, and the story that is hidden behind the cover AMAZING.
The back and forth between Leighton and Haze is enough to give anyone whip lash, I am wondering how long it is going to take these two to realize they are perfect for each other, Leighton really needs to lose the dirtbag Ricky that is her so called boyfriend, and along with that she needs to ditch her "best friend" Paris. Paris in my opinion is the one that is sending the threating letters to Leighton's grandfather, there seems to be something off about her.
Cannot wait for the next book in this series, with the ending of this book I am left wanting more
book three
MS Parker you have done it again, this was one amazing series, filled with mystery, intrigue, suspense and love. What more could you have asked for in a book? Haze and Leighton are one of my most favorite couples from MS Parker, even though it does take them forever to realize it.
Haze rushes home when he hears that Leighton is missing and then he feels responsible for her being taken, if he had not gone home then he would have been there to protect her. Haze does everything possible to find Leighton and then once he finds her he does everything to find out who was responsible for taking here, and when he does my jaw was on the ground with shock and awe. In all this Leighton thinks that she is not good enough for Haze and she tries to distance herself from him, but all along he is what her heart wants.
Will Leighton be able to find it in herself to let Haze in before its to late, and who kidnapped Leighton????
Read this final installment of the Hero series, fantastical read
Our Special Forces "Hero" books in a box set!? YES please!! Because each book is so hot and yummy, you now get to read all of them one after the other! You'll be glad once you finish book 1, that you don't have to wait on book 2 to be released!
THE ASSIGNMENT Book 1 - Haze - gorgeous military guy that gets hurt and sent home. He has a sometimes severe case of vertigo which will prevent him from returning to the military. He accepts a position to be a body guard with the hope that it'll prove he's okay and can eventually return to his career.
Leighton - rich girl who likes to be the party girl much to her grandfather's chagrin. She lives with her grandfather after the death of her parent and he just wants her protected.
Grandfather hires a babysitter/body guard for her....the nerve of him! Leighton is going to make sure this guy's life miserable!! Until she meets him.........
THE AMBUSH Book 2 The chemistry and games between Haze and Leighton continues in this book.
Haze - has been hired to "babysit" little rich girl Leighton, whom he just happened to sleep with four years ago. He can't get that episode off his mind, but must so he can do his job of protecting her. Her life is in danger and she has no clue that it is. Apparently her grandfather and Haze decide to keep that from her. For her own protection, of course.
Leighton - spoiled little rich girl who needs a babysitter. She's very irresponsible and her grandfather wants her protected. Of course, the guard he hires was a hot Special Forces hotty, that she slept with! UGH!!
The chemistry between these two is so ridiculous, that it's almost funny! Both are so stubborn! I feel like I'm watching a tennis match with these two going back and forth!
I love all the characters in this book! Although I felt like strangling them, they way MS Parker describes them, you gotta love them! This was a great read and I couldn't wait to get to the end, but sad when I did! I look forward to the final book in this series!
THE BATTLE Book 3
Review YAY!!! I loved the ending of this book!!
Haze and Leighton go through so much! He's her security guard and this book begins with Leighton is missing/kidnapped and Haze is doing everything possible to find out who took her and returning her safely to her grandfather.
Leighton doesn't like darkness...so when her captors have her in total darkness she tries to focus on her time with Haze and not the darkness!
Will Haze get her back in time? Who could want her kidnapped? Can these two finally realize they are perfect for each other.
Once again.......an amazing series by M.S. Parker!!
I loved this book "Hero" by M.S. Parker. Haze is a special forces Sargeant on leave when he first meets the spoiled rich girl Leighton. She needed saving and her jerk of a boyfriend was no where to be found. Years later, fate brings them together after Haze saves her brother during an attack overseas. Haze has serious injuries which take him away his job and his life as he knew it.
""He came out of nowhere like a tank...The guerrilla who shot me, guy took him out with one shot. Lifted me like a duffel bag. I blacked out...The report says he save me from the explosion that killed two more men in my unit."
Leighton has put up with her cheating spoiled rich kid boyfriend for years now and when Haze appears back in her life, she is not sure what to make of it. She is too busy getting drunk and high and spending her inheritance to think too much about him.
""The drummer was now weilding his stool like a club and chasing the front man back and forth across the stage. All of that, I assmed was real. I was pretty sure the koala bear riding on the drummer's back, however, was just the drugs."
"The problem was, all I could think about was him, us, our bodies fitted tight together, my hollow thoughts filled by those dark brown eyes.."
"Hell, it was in writing, in Haze's ...job description to save me from my own irrational and unsafe thinking."
"She needed a purpose, a goal, but it wasn't up to me to help her find those things. It was up to me to make sure she was safe. That was it."
I just love the characters in this book, Leighton's cheating boyfriend and Paris are made for eachother, Haze tries to keep his feelings in check while Leighton does everything to make him crack. Grandfather is a wise man with a heart of gold when it comes to his grandkids.
Was thrilled to finally have the whole story in a box set. Once you start this one make sure you have the time to finish it. You won't want to put it down!
I really enjoyed this book except the end. I mean I like the ending I just didn't like the way it transitioned from ***Spolier*** Oh, we are all saved to ..... next chapter, walking down the aisle, the end. Just wished there was a little more detail, I thought my app skipped chapters at first. Overall though, it was very enjoyable.
The Assigment I absolutely loved this book. The minute Haze saved Leighton I knew they had something special. With having to watch her to see if she had a concussion, Haze brought her back to his place since her no good sometimes boyfriend fled. Leighton wanted Haze and passion ignited only to have Haze leaving her without saying goodbye. With Haze being a special forces soldier he left Leighton and they haven't seen each other in 3 1/2 yrs and both play it off like that night meant nothing. Haze wanting to quit, her grandfather who hired Haze won't allow because now Leighton is danger. Will Haze be hero or will he leave Leighton alone? I am so excited to see what's happens next
The Ambush I really enjoy reading this story. I really want to shake Leighton and say grow up but I get she is still reeling from her parents death and feels all alone. Everyone leaves and Haze is just like them. Haze wants Leighton but he feels he can't do his job. I can't stand Paris or the slimeball Ricky, I wish Leighton would finally dump them both for good. With Leighton not knowing the threat to her life, will that be a mistake for her not knowing? I can't wait to find out what happens next
The Battle What an amazing conclusion to Haze and Leighton's story. With Leighton been kidnapped while Haze was away he does everything in his power to get her back. Haze is torn for wanting Leighton but thinks that his heart will get in the way of protecting her. Leighton thinks she isn't good enough for Haze. When the threat is still there, Haze does everything he can to protect Leighton and what he finds is shocking. Another amazing story that I couldn't put down
Book 1: Another great start to an amazing story by M.S Parker, you never disappoint. I love Haze, he's a hot military man. Leighton is a spoiled rich kid, and she tries to fight her attraction to Haze but fails. I can't wait to find out what happens.
Book 2: MS Parker, you never disappoint with your story lines. I am so hooked on this series, and can't get enough. Leighton needs to get rid of her piece of crap boyfriend, and realize that she wants Haze. These two go back and forth throughout this book and their chemistry is amazing. I can't wait for the next to find out what happens.
Book 3: What an intense series, I absolutely loved this book. Leighton and Haze were going back and forth on what to do but knew the right thing is to not be together. This book is full of so much drama and action. It kept you on your toes, with the suspense and it was a great romance story. It is certainly a page turner. I truly recommend this series.
Leighton has it all. Everything but her grandfather's respect; or so she thinks. This millionaire of a grandfather decides it's time to give her a bodyguard. One who saved her brother's life in the line of duty.
Hot, ex-special forces and a memory to Leighton from years ago, Haze is determined to be professional. Can he keep her safe? Will they pretend their night of passion didn't rate? Will she cut him any slack? Will Haze come clean? Will her grandfather figure it out? Will Leighton self destruct? Will she finally grow up and accept responsibility? Can Haze secure her safety. MS Parker's Hero: The Complete Series was a fantastic read.
The story has action, sweetness, hot scenes and lots of love. I like it. Haze is hired as a bodyguard for a girl he met once before and the story starts. Leighton and Haze are attracted to each other but fights it and the complications are many. I get to know the characters quite well but again; to give a book 5 stars I want that extra feeling when I read. This 4,5 stars so I do recommend it because it's all about personal feelings when you read a book so for any other it could be a 5 star book.
Yet again another great read from this author, so glad that Haze and Leighton sorted themselves out, I thought I knew who was behind the letters, but was surprised about who was helping them, the relationship between Haze and the cook made me laugh as he was more afraid of her than facing the kidnappers lol, but a great storyline.
Ok, storyline. It could have been better but it was just too slow and the characters were terribly wishy-washy. I wanted to hit them both several times through the story and scream at them to make up their minds. Ugh. Lots of angst with a sweet ending.
A good enjoyable read, typical M S Parker, strong alpha male and feisty female. A good storyline with lots happening to keep the interest going, and hot steamy encounters between our hero and his lady. Well worth a read.
This book wasn't what I expected. The story was quite good, but m y problem was it was very erotic. If you are an adult enjoy it. If this was a movie it would be rated R+ because the sexually explicit scenes.
I loved the story even though I found Leighton annoying and very childish and immature. Haze should have moved on from her...he could do so much better.
