The World Needs Protecting - Before they can build in space they have to GET into space.

There is a 'false queen' attacking vampires in Asia - Bethany Anne sends her Own to look into that.

The moon base needs to be settled, can Team BMW make it happen? Do they have enough people? CAN they get the right people to help?

John's cousin is now part of the team, will she make it?

There is a group looking to find them and they are using Barb to do it.

This is the first book in the second arc (books 08-14) for The Kurtherian Gambit. The stakes are raised a lot higher!

**Please note, as mentioned in another review, there is flagrantly foul language in this novel. The main character does not have a problem with cussing, just uninspired cussing.
If you haven't read the previous books, you will need to go back to #1 (the book does not explain the characters and previous relationships / deeds).

Just gets better!

I seriously am at a loss as to why I like this series so much. It's not the best literature, it's definitely not the book. It's down to the authors ability to capture my imagination. To tell a story that I believe in and enjoy. Even though I know it's so far out there it isn't believable. Anderle is an excellent story teller. That, I think is his secret. He invests time and dedication and believes what he writes. That is how he does it.

Yes, without a doubt I am addicted. The more I read the more I want. You want to know what's next, who will join next, and know how the hell they do that. The leader of the group is a vampire. She is the most charismatic and funny person I've come across. She has a serious potty mouth that is both inventive and hilarious.

Also, they are the good guy's. They are not nationally associated to any one country. They are committed to saving the planet. People from all over the world, from different walks of life. They join together and become a unit. Maybe it's my ideology that connects me. I believe we should all work together and achieve goals together rather than individual countries.

In this book they start colonizing the moon. Another dirt bag vampire is erased and new people join. They even allow the world to see them launching into space. They are sharing with the people of the earth not nations. And you are there with them. Experiencing it all through their eyes. The characters are realistic and really likable.

So I will continue with my addiction because I really need to know what's coming next. Join me on this journey. Enjoy!

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of these books. I just finished book #8 and I’m going to start #9 as soon as I finish this review.

I’m still loving Bethany Anne, John, Pete, Eric, Darryl, Lance, Patricia, Gabrielle, Bobcat, Marcus, and all my other favorite characters in these books. Still love all the adventures, battles, and now the space travels. They’re finally on the Dark Side of the Moon.

There wasn’t as much clever swearing in this book as in the others but the F-bomb was still used 54 funny times, as well as serious times. My favorite swearword in one every person is picking up on: Gott Verdammt. I’m thinking it’s German and it’s just so funny when the narrator says it.

As always there was no sex.

As to the narration: Emily Beresford is simply phenomenal.

The thing is ,he really believes that terrorist are heartless assholes
Who wants to enslave the west under the black banner of the caliphate
Raping their pale skinned ,blonde haired ,blue eyed women and children
I think he really believes that
I think he believes that, the west are just and did nothing wrong,I don't thing he knows 3 m died in Iraq or the support of tyranny and the millions who live in despair as direct consequence,so that oil prices and mac and chicken nuggets prices don't rise in fucking Cincinnati
I don't think he cares

I think he believes that his heroine ,sitting down, brooding.how to kill those terrorist Muslim
Is really quite the noble cause

But hey, these books are just for fun

This one was back to its former goodness, having dialed back on the revenge-porn-political-statements, and was a lot of fun. There was large forward movement in the long arc.

It's notable that the story is requiring a lot of people as it continues down the long arc and I realized in this book that there are so many secondary and tertiary characters now that I can't keep track of them all. I haven't found it to be too critical, though, and just pay attention to what is happening in the story without worrying too much about keeping those characters straight. It works for me.

I have to mention that my eyebrows raised when J.L. Hawk cropped up in the story, and what happened to her. I kept thinking "I wonder if he realizes there is a Jordan L. Hawk author?" Then in the author's end notes I discover that he met Ms. Hawk at a book/ author event, discovered that she was in some sort of back and forth with another author in which they use each other as characters and do heinous things to them as such, and that Michael Anderle told Jordan he was going to do the same to her. He did so with her permission, so I guess the answer to my question is "Yes, he knows." I like that, it adds another sort of fun to the series.

This is definitely a series that grew on me... I can't say the formula has changed much, over 8-11 books, but the things that used to annoy me either don't as much, or don't happen as much anymore (excessively creative swearing, etc)... definite popcorn series, as Diana would say... turn your brain off and enjoy the mindless action sequences :)

Ratings are based on this being unarguably just a fun action series full of stereotypes and tropes and having no pretense of being anything but.

This book was more building than action with more new characters. I was a bit disappointed some things weren't written - Barb is interesting and has been well developed, but then was put aside while new characters were followed. I'd have liked to see more of her and significantly less of the space "detail". I keep thinking Anderle loves that Star Trek has been pointed out as predicting technologies before they arrive, so he wants to detail his in the hopes he can walk that path - personally, I don't need all the detail he provides. So, there continue to be large areas of the book I skim.

I’m really enjoying these books but they are not really fantasy, although there are vampires and werewolves this is definitely moving into the sci-fi realm. These are quick, easy reads bit there is still a problem with some of the editing

The great part of a long series: you see the characters evolve, you see them going from 'decent' to 'wow-I-can't-believe-it's-you'.

TOO MANY CHARACTERS! Excellent Narration by Emily Beresford (audible review).

Okay so this series is good. However, the author has run a muck with adding so many characters to this series that is is now become too confusing. I am sad this has happened because I really started out liking these books. But now I can't even enjoy them anymore and I have to give up. Not only are there way too many characters a couple have the same name. Not Good, IMO. It was a struggle to finish this book.

I have read/listened Reclaiming Honor and hope they don't get carried away with the characters like in this series. That hasn't happened yet and my fingers are crossed it doesn't.

I also read/listened to the first book in the Terry Henry Walton Series. Again, hoping the author doesn't get carried away with too many characters.

As for the narration, it is amazing! Emily Beresford does such an amazing job she literally has a different voice for about 40 different characters so far in this series. So I have say simply amazing.

I wrote a friend of mine just to say how much I liked some of the characters in this series and loathed others. That I would be compelled to want to form a chat group after speed reading this series says something as I was entertained by all of this silliness.

The story in all of the books (except for I think #7) moves rapidly and the author seems to have a cast of hundreds to bounce back and forth. The plots in the series are similar with a lot of trouble and problems in the beginning and then a triumphant slap-back at the end -but I read 1-17 and was compelled to do so. I have to admit to enjoying the vampire books more than the subsequent space opera and I haven't read a vampire book since Anne Rice decades ago.

I really enjoyed the inital introductions to the main vampires, but the author seems to be having fun writing these books and it's contagious. Also, I appreciated the number of strong female characters in the books.

To be honest I couldn't finish this book. It was ridiculous! One guy taking on 8 vampires and coming away with only a few scratches! I don't care how "enhanced" he is, this requires a HUGE suspension of belief.
Also, this religious-like worship of Bethany Anne has gotten to be too much.
I'm moving on. Too many good series to read to waste my time on a 21 book series.

We Will Build...

and so they shall!! Book 8 was a whirlwind as TQB prepares to go to the mother loving Moon! The moon I tell you! I post poned a date with my boo to finish reading this book! Lol!

I was rather unimpressed with the build up of the Asian "Queen"...I didn't even bother to learn her name. It started with a K...lol I honestly thought that she would end by putting up a better fight, but alas Mr. Anderle probably had his sights on other very important happenings...

Like Space! So, we have just begun and I know there is so much more to be had, but the lift off for space and how it was televised live...well 14 seconds behind live...just in case ;) ...this shit was genius. Of course involve the masses! Get their support before the nuclear fallout from some prostrating old geezers in their war room. I can tell that TBQ haven't seen the end of the strifes Earth side, but am chomping at the bit to see how Mr. Anderle transitions into space sci fi, and not merely supernatural with a sci fi flair...Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's not very well done, because it is...but I want so much more and if all of you have not steered me wrong...my wish should come true soon!

I am very intrigued by ADAM and how he has made all the petty hackers of the world his BITCHES! This personality has become something else...I love him! I love him so much and I want him to grow and to experience...I know he doesn't have emotions and feelings like a human, but damn does he seem almost more human than a lot of humans I know.

Super ecstatic about the new vampires Samuel and Richard...I am glad Mr. Anderle is starting to bring more vampires into to the mold. I was starting to think the Weschelbalg were going to be the only SN ranks getting beefed up. The duo's witty reparte has me in stitches at times!
Also Pip's cafe also got a like and a review from me yesterday! I was so excited to find out the cafe is real that I sent the location to a friend of mine in Australia. She has never been, but said she would check it out so I can live vicariously through her! My review for the cafe was as follows.

"I recommend going and enjoying the down to earth vibe. PS: I hope the Queen's Own didn't mess up the place too bad ;) Love you Pip"
I know I have never been there, but I had to do this. To have two very minor characters sit and resonate with me after their scenes is amazing..Not to mention I remembered her name and Jordan's, both part of the same heartbreaking scene and both will probably stick with me for a rather long time.

Anyway I have gibbered on for quite long enough. I have started book 9 and will get back to you when I am done!

middle of the road series, not great but not bad either

I found it interesting to read the author’s note, specifically for this episode of the series. He made the comment that you need conflict and resolution to push a story forward. I completely agree. The problem is his idea of conflict is to put a small problem in front of a character and then have that problematic issue fail, but because it failed it then helped out further down the line. That isn’t great story telling. It’s juvenile at best and boring to the reader. Though maybe that is the base of readers he is going for.

There are fun things in the books. This book started a new arc in the series, about getting into space. It is a quick and fast read, which since the author pops out a new book it seems almost once or twice a month, maybe that’s a good thing? Though I would rather tighten the story up condense several books into one better novel and really enjoy the story instead of flying through it.

I know I complain regarding this series. It’s because I can see lots of potential for the story. Sadly, I don’t think the author takes his time to really do the series justice. I realize he has to make money, and using the Kindle system is probably like for a scientist - publish or perish. Well he’s helped massive amounts of other authors and even ties some into shared universe story telling - NOW I’d like to see him take a short break and write something deeper, more fulfilling and that could really draw the reader in. I have no problem supporting by purchasing a good author’s books, but I am glad that these entries are freebies using the Kindle Unlimited subscription. I would not pay book dollar pricing for these, as reading each is too quick and would be entirely too expensive when I read potentially two or three of these in a day.

It is still a fun read. I am glad that the creative cussing has been toned down some. It is humorous but very overdone if it’s included too often, as it had been for a while.

According to the author this is the first book in the second arc of The Kurtherian Gambit series. This is where the series slowly starts to take on a more serious science fiction character. As can be seen from the book blurb we are now starting to talk about getting into space and having bases on the moon.

I am actually looking forward to this. The Queen Bitch in space with a whole universe of baddie’s arses to kick. Scary thought indeed. However, we’re not really their just yet. Luckily the author is not rushing things so there are still plenty of vampire (and werewolf) business going on back on Earth.

In one sense you could say that the book is more of the same. More of the Queen Bitch, more of the fun bantering between all the members of the team and of course more of the ass kicking.

However, at the same time the story moves forward, the characters evolve, new asshats pop up for a round of educational spanking (some of them for a life long lesson…all five minutes of it), new team members are introduced and most importantly Bethany’s master plan progresses.

I do not think that I have read any book series before that managed to keep the core values and the same formula for so long and still keep me interested. The author makes the story and characters evolve in a way that it is new and old at the same time keeping the good parts that make the series what it is while adding new situations and new problems to solve, either by engineering or good old violence.

In this particular part of the story the author throws in a vampire bitch wannabee that needs to be dealt with and a few minor problems such as how to put a base on the moon. You know, just the usual stuff in a days work for a Queen Bitch. The latter little issue turns out to finally put the media spotlights on TQB industries which of course opens a new can of worms (translation: lots of new story opportunities for future books) for Bethany.

So, as usual, a really good and fun to read book.

4 Unicorns Puling Rainbows On The Head Of Baby Dragons Stars

We Will Build is the eighth book in The Kurtherian Gambit series by Michael Anderle.

WE MADE IT TO SPACE BITCHES! I’m usually trying fairly difficultly to keep from cussing in my reviews, simply so they’ll be more acceptable to a larger amount of people. However, if you are reading this you’ve probably read some of the other books in the series. Which means Bethany Anne’s vocabulary hasn’t done you in, and this one instance of cussing shouldn’t phase you in the least. Disclaimer finished, or whatever.

I’m beyond excited for all of the incoming people we are about to have. I can’t wait to discover the different personalities introduced. Outside of that, regretfully, I’m assuming at least one government body is about to attack The Queen for unnecessary dick measuring and butt-hurt feelings.

Adam is coming into his own, growing more entertaining. I’m honestly hoping at some point he is open to communicate with the entire world. Or at there are other AIs introduced later. Snarky AIs are my bread and butter.

Barb’s minuscule chapters interrupting the facts and progression of Bethany Anne’s team in their endeavors added some levity and outside entertainment to this story. Which had become overburdened with all their preparations and complicated vernacular. Ooh, and there’s the added bonus that she and Frank are on the road to becoming an item.

I’m at a loss towards where this journey will take us now. With the new development of them reaching the moon, their first base of operations in space. There is so much more to consider, and many more possibilities in what they will both accomplishment and have to defend against. It’s only going to get more interesting from here.

Was the Prologue necessary - NO.

A good read but the Prologue was actually not only unnecessary but also spoilt the series a bit. Do we really want to know that QB makes it through all the trials just yet. No we certainly don't. Were's the fun in that? The rest of the read was great. QB Moon Base 1 is nearly a go but the trouble with the hackers is going. Not only are they targeting most countries infrastructure but the terrorists are also using it to set up strikes. Now there are even more attacks on the companies she owns. Can they get the person behind it? A vampire that can also use the Etheric and who has a specific grudge (not really answered what the grudge was though - disappointing). Will the Queen's Own be up to the task? Who are the shady government figures that keep trying to infiltrate them? (Again not really even beginning to answer this)
Sorry but with the Prologue and the unanswered questions I did find this to be a frustrating read.

Love the series and an apology

I don't always write reviews on books i read and after reading the author's note in this one i have to apologize to Michael. It is not because I don't like the books, it is actually the opposite! This book, check this entire series is so compelling i get to this part and just want to jump to the next book! I'm the author noted though I realized I am doing a disservice to the author by doing that, and for that I apologize. That being said I have enjoyed every book of Michael Anderle that I have read so far, and I can say that is a lot of them!!!! Read this series of you like vampires, werecreatures, action adventure, and foul mother people in general lol. Seriously the characters feel like real people and I wish we could all band together for a cause like they do

I am addicted to this series

As Michael kindly asks at the end of each book i am reviewing to share my humble opinion such as it is, I feel qualified to comment as I am a ridiculous reader lol 5 _ 7 books a week on average
I LOVE this series!! The characters are warm, flawed, interesting and varied, I love that we are them grow and develop with each new book and that it's a seamless transition from one to the next, the stories make me smile, giggle at times and lol a lot! Highly entertaining & always a bit un put downable which can be a problem when I am supposed to be doing the usual 'life' stuff but it doesn't bother me too much I must confess lol
I highly recommend this series & can't wait to see where it goes, try it, you won't be disappointed ☺

Five stars!

This is a great series! Keep on writing. The estimate of four or five hours to read this is funny. It took me about one hour. The secret to speed reading is simple.. Most folks when they read, "hear" the words in their head. It's called sub vocalizing. Almost everyone does it. But the bad part is that you can only read as fast as you can talk. When I was learning to read, I stuttered a lot, so I learned to read by looking at a word know what it meant without hearing it and going on to the next word. I will say, if you have been reading wrong for a long time, it's hard to do it right. Children will have better luck because they haven't done it wrong for long. Good luck!!

I get it

Okay, so I'm grasping the entertainment factor of book eight in the Kutherian Gambit. It took eight books. I'm really just that stubborn. With the quick witty writing style of Joss Wedon from Buffy, Angel and Firefly, to Men in Black style humor and action, with some Independence Day Earth patriotism and finally Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill graphic language and gratuitous violence a la Quentin Tarantino I get it. Duh! So, I'm obviously of your generation, late forties, a fan of fantasy and paranormal urban science fiction with lots of tech, robotics and programmer friends.

I'm really not a fan of straight sci fi, but I'm ready to keep reading.

Marcus"

Space is almost big enough for this book

BA and team are going into space but it seems the petty and dangerous are out to bring humanity down. So it's time to go international and it's time to mentor the human race into something better if this takes some violence, hunour and he'll great working relationships and friends then we should all be in. This book more than the others is a beacon of what we hope to be and I think is needed as part of the new ARC. This series has some serious legs or engines lol to go the distance and I can only hitch along for the ride so off to the next book

amazing as always

One thing I love about these books is their re-read value! Overall, they are kinda short, so I blow right through them, but they are SOOOO good and full of stuff that I don’t mind. And unlike a lot of authors, these keep coming, like an assembly line of delicious potato chips. I absolutely love the multiple threads of things happening, though sometimes I feel like I need one of those multi colored timelines to keep track of everything and everyone. I love how something that can seem like an Easter egg in a previous book can suddenly pop up like a fully realized plot point! Okay, review done, gonna grab the next potato chip! (I mean book!)

This really Is a pivotal book in this series.

This is the book where it all starts coming together. Not only are teams put together, to deal with every contingency known to mankind - and Kurtherian - but it's the book where mankind actually has a real foothold into space, at last.

The detailing is awesome, the plotlines unputdownable, and the characters become such a part of it all, that the reader is totally immersed within the story.

This book is a triumph in writing, and I'm so very glad that I came across the author's name, and was curious enough to read the first book.

I am sooooo rooting for TQB's dreams right now! Lol

Good book

Another good book in this amazing series. I couldn’t put this book down and when I had to, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. This book is full of action, more people joining the group and them working on announcing themselves to the world.
Bethany Anne and Michael are dating now, which I’m very excited for. Unfortunately, since this is not a romance book, not that much is mentioned about them nor do we get that much interactions between them. This is in many characters’ point of view showing me what’s happening to the group all over the world simultaneously.
No angst or drama, fun dialogues and funny moments. I’m excited for the next book in this series.

Graphic audio does it again with a great production.

This one starts with a very brief flash forward to a successful yet tired Bethany Ann being interviewed further into Space expansion and then we get the story on TQB's expansion into a true multinational powerhouse and a larger team of diehards to make all the lofty goals possible.

There are even continuations on some of what was hinted at with Barnabas.

As someone who started with the vigilante chronicles it's fun seeing this side of Barnabas's history
