109 books23 followersLayla is a full-time educator and is married with two children. Despite a very busy schedule, she always immerses herself in books of various genres in her spare time.
In July of 2014, while discussing books with her sister-in-law one day, she mentioned that she had thought about trying to write her own book sometime. Knowing that the creative arts were already her strong suit, her sister-in-law simply said, "Go for it." And she did.
That very night, Layla went home, opened up a word document and started Chapter 1. Before the night was over, four chapters were complete and the story of Nicole Pepper and Gage Anderson was born.
Like most projects, she couldn't stop until she was finished. After sharing "Catching My Heart" with some close friends, she decided to publish and see where things went. Well, they just kept going. The story of Nicole and Gage continued to form in her brain and it soon became the Grand Slam Trilogy.
As she continued to write, some of her friends/editors/proof-readers asked for a story about Tony Rivera, a detective that plays a secondary role in the Grand Slam Trilogy. Without much hesitation, the Arrested Hearts Series was born.
From there, she has since moved on with two more series: Finding Harmony and Second Chances. All the while, the characters from her stories interact with one another and you continue to watch Nicole and Gage move forward with their lives.
What started as a random burst of creativity has blossomed into an extremely satisfying side gig that has yet to lose momentum. As long as the ideas keep coming and her friends still want to read, she will continue to write.
Additionally, with a few exceptions, the book covers are designed and drawn by Layla.

Love this entire series! Fabulous musicians, fun leading ladies, excitement and entertainment with every turn of the page!

Meet and fall in love with the band! You will love this rocker romance that will have you swooning over the all male band. Each character will make you love them for a different reason. This romance while it has some suspense, is a HEA story with some angst and drama.
Blue - If you loved meeting the band, this story dives deeper in to their lives. It's great to watch a love story come to life. This author takes you on a journey that you feel like you are there with them.
Wild - This story was phenomenal. I loved how the author brought in previous characters and still introduced new ones. The use of classic literary quotes to build a budding love was exceptional. I would recommend this to any one looking for a touching romantic story to read. I highly recommend reading the previous stories before this one to really appreciate the world this author created.
Deceptive - So grab your tissues for this one folks you're going to need it.
This story to me was different than the authors previous work. It was heart wrenching and left your reeling at the end.
Nick is hoping for his chance at happiness. While it is his turn in the story to find love there are other factors in the story that take over and become priority.
Kat is an interesting character. Without giving spoilers she definitely adds a multitude of surprises to this story.
Overall a good read and continuation of a wonderful series.
Suspended - I think this story shows the authors ability to grow and write about topics that can pull emotions in a serious way. It felt raw and real with what Chase had to endure to find his happiness. Watching the band evolve and continue to grow as Chase moved to find his happily ever after was very well written.
There were some definite laughing, crying, and yelling at the book times but all were worth it for the end result. It was great to meet some new characters as well.
Turning Pointe Novella - Well this novella was just sweet and steamy. It was romantic and made you swoon for the 'bad boy' Drexel as he heals his own heart by healing Autumn's. I really don't want to spoil this story so you need to read the Finding Harmony series IMO to fully appreciate this novella. You will find spoilers if you don't. So go get her Finding Harmony series first.
This story will pirouette into your heart as love blossoms and grows. A beautifully done ballet of words by this author.
