Life is a patchwork of separate experiences that come together into a unified whole-much like a handmade quilt. Author Mary Tatem weaves that theme into 90 story-based meditations, offering insight into peaceful, successful, godly living. This new edition of the much-loved devotional The Quilt of Life (more than 175,000 copies sold since 2000) will introduce you to the beautiful, colorful, and cozy world of quilts—and the Master Designer who lovingly assembles the fabric of our existence. In addition to the encouraging devotional material, The Quilt of Life includes a bonus practical tips for quilters!
this was a book of my mom's that we found at her house when we were selling it and such a peaceful, sweet little book. It's a collection of devotional thoughts and just picking it up and reading a few would make my day better. It's very spiritual and has actual bible quotes and readings at the start of every little story but they're nice...This is a book that I'll keep when I want to read something inspiring or lovely. It's a nice way to look at life...like a quilt, where all the different pieces somehow fit together.
I have had this book for a number of years, but I have flagged many pages that contain really good tips...some for quilting and some for everyday life inspiration. It is a devotional that you can put in your bag to read when you have a couple minutes to wait. Or just keep it near your devotional table for added inspiration.
I picked up this book at a thrift store because it intrigued me. Blending faith with anecdotes about quilting seemed (pun intended) a great fit for this seamstress. I took my time to absorb the lessons based on a Scripture quote. It was well worth my time as I took a break from stitching on my projects.
I loved this little devotional book with a quilt theme. I read three stories per day so I could read it all in one month. I wanted to hurry and share it with my sister who quilts. Some of the stories are contemporary and some were historical. All were enjoyable with a quilting tip included in each one.
Another great devotional book -- especially for those who are familiar with quilting terms and want to apply a patchwork of devotional thoughts to their daily life.
