It has been some time since Michael left the perciever corp. Although his powers have returned, his desire to work for the English government has not. When a mysterious woman shows up in Inspector Patterson's office, asking for the head of the percievers, Michael finds himself once again thrust into the tumultuous world of the Perciever Corp, only this time, it's a matter of life or death. Thanks in part to meedling reporter Sian Jones, the public has found out that percievers have been secretly working for the government, and they want justice. When Prime Minister Pankhurst reinstates the mandatory cure for all percievers in England, can Michael and his friends make it out with their sanity and their lives?
Jane Killick's final Perciever book does not disappoint. It was full of enough twists and turns that I could not guess the ending, which is a quality that I love in a book. I particularly liked the fact that Otis makes a surprise appearance in this book (it's good to know he made it out without the cure!). Coming back to Michael, Pauline, and even Agent Cooper are like coming home to old friends, her style of writing is well-done, and her characters are well thought out and familiar. I will be glad to continue reading Ms. Killick's books - whether about the Perciever Corp, or not!
