I am a big fan of Barbra Annino and especially the Stacy Justice series. This novella was such a nice surprise to find as I wait for the next book come out! You never know what those Geraghty Girls are going to do next or what trouble they will stir up and in this little ditty they once again didn’t let me down with their shenanigans! You have to love them and Stacy with what she also gets into and helps get her aunts out of! Fly don’t walk to get this story and join in the fun of this Valentine’s story filled with…total chaos and laughs!
I love the series and this little vignette of the Stacy Justice series didn't disappoint. Make sure to read Opal Fire first.
This makes a great little break between the main series but doesn't break the flow or cadence of its predecessor.
All of your favorite characters are there with the exception of Cin, Tony, Monique and the various colourful characters of Amethyst, but in 20,000 words a little goes a long way. With a little insight into the lives the aunts as a buffer, you get to see this little modern day Practical Magic-esque story would keep Stephanie Plum on her toes.
It is well worth the cost for a quick coffee house read and a nice little dabble into a Valentine's Day story. I would love to see this series turn into a tv series.
A decent read. Not as good as some of the others. This one is based on Stacey. St Valentine's Day and she's planning a long soak, a pizza and a mushy movie with Thor (her Great Dane). Her place already looks like a funeral parlour as her ex tries to win her back with numerous flowery offerings. However a frantic knocking, a demand she goes to her Great Aunt's, flying knives, couples changing partners, fights and a besotted delivery boy has her wondering what is going on. A ghost that wants his jewellery for his true love, a spell that has gone disastrously wrong, her ex, the delivery boy and food are all that she has to go on. Will she be able to reverse it and get the couples to go back to their original partners.
Deadly Diamonds: A Stacy Justice Novella (A Stacy Justice Mystery Book) [Kindle Unlimited] — Barbra Annino (10 chapters) August 4, 2019
This is set between the first and second books, a 1.5, as it were. I have not read from this series in quite awhile, so reading this (and the Thor short stories before,) was a trip to the wonderful past. I forgot how much I liked this series. This was before Stacy had truly came to grips with who she was and had not connected completely with Chance. It was an enjoyable read with some drama about a valentines spell gone wrong.
Reading this book makes me want to go back and read the books I haven’t read in the series, so that is a good thing.
After having finished all 6 of the other Stacy Justice books out to date and circling back to a novella set earlier on, I am kinda glad I did. That's mostly on account of how disgustingly disappointed I was with the 6th book. I really hoped Annino had more after that book that was better to get the bad taste out of my mouth but this was the only option I had left it seems. Again, this novella did alright, even if still not on point.
I just cannot get enough of this series! Barbra Annino sure knows how to keep you entertained with comedy from these lovely characters!! I love reading about how Stacy gets into trouble with the girls, and Thor. Poor Chance is just along for the ride!
What happens when a love charm goes wrong? Stacy and the Garraghty sisters find out and it's a bit of a disaster! I gave this 4* only because it's a short novella (#1.5) and I prefer the longer mysteries in the series.
Thus was a really quick and funny read, mostly with Stacy, her aunts and grandmother. Valentine's Day can be just as much of a problem for a witch as anyone else.
I love the Stacy Justice series . I maybe a guy but the is like mine weird yet lovable. And Stacy is one strong kick ass witch, and please feed a extra slice of pizza to Thor.
This Valentine's is off with a love spell cast by the auntie gone wrong. Now Stacy must figure out what the ghost needs in order to turn this disaster around.
Great little novella. Have tried the series before, but didn't catch me as much as I like. Gave it another try and will return and start from the beginning. Good characters, enticing plot, and just a fun read.
This was a novella in the series that takes place between books 1 and 2. You definitely don't have to read it but it's a fun quick story about the Geraghty girls and the trouble they can get into.
Spells awry, flowers galore and love, and ghosts, are in the air. Stacey wants a quiet evening at home, alone. Unfortunately a love spell has gone awry.
Good book, after reading the seven book series it just wasn't the same. If you knew to read the novellas in the right sequence with the books it would be better
