This time Stefanova joins the Bulgarian Olympic team during the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico. I've learnt a lot about a country that raises my curiosity and definitely want to see in person the epic murals of Los Tres Grandes. Although Stefanova describes passionately the Tlatelolco massacre and the Black Power salute, she conveniently fails to mention the quiet protest of the Czechoslovakian gymnast Věra Čáslavská against the Soviet Union. As well-written as it is, I find her narrative to be partial and biased. I guess the need of the time was to promote a certain ideological view and she does it. Time and time again.
