After narrowly escaping a brutal assault that nearly ended her life, seasoned Crime Scene Investigator Lane Street decides it’s time for a change of scenery. Moving from Memphis to the small mountain town of Pine Ridge, North Carolina, however, does little to provide her with the refuge she desires. On the day she arrives for her new forensics job, a heinous murder shatters the normally placid lives of the town’s police force. Though murder is nothing new to Lane, it soon becomes obvious that she is dealing with no ordinary killer – and that the killing is far from over.
This book is an new and different approach to a crime story. Clearly the author has first hand experience which makes it seem even more real. The plot moved rapidly and kept me interested in Lane Street's next adventure. This is Steve Way's third novel and all three have been great reads! Highly recommend giving this budding new author a try!
