Streetwise Zeni is suspicious of her snap discovery by the producer of the film being shot in sleepy Chamelot, Louisiana. Yet the chance to play a bit part is irresistible--especially as her annoying boss, bad boy Trey Benedict, thinks she can't make the cut.
Trey will miss Zeni's constant insults if she leaves town, but he's not worried; she's too unique to fit the star mold. His help with her makeover is part of a bet, nothing to be taken seriously. Why, then, is he risking matrimony and his neck to keep her near? _____________
All books in the Louisiana Knights series are standalones. No cliffhangers!
Jennifer Blake has been called a “pioneer of the romance genre”, and an “icon of the romance industry.” A New York Times and international best selling author since 1977, she is a charter member of Romance Writers of America, member of the RWA Hall of Fame, and recipient of the RWA Lifetime Achievement Rita. She holds numerous other honors, including two “Maggies”, two Holt Medallions, multiple Reviewer’s Choice Awards, the Career Achievement Award from Romantic Times BookReviews Magazine, and the Frank Waters Award for literary excellence. She has written over 60 books with translations in 20 languages and more than 30 million copies in print worldwide.
Jennifer and her husband reside in a lakeside Caribbean-style retreat in North Louisiana where they often entertain family and friends. Always a gardener, she spends much of her time encouraging her garden to bloom with her favorite daylilies and antique roses. She also enjoys walking her two dogs, Buffy and Lucky, and indulging in needlework, painting, and travel.
Can a modern-day knight ride a Harley to sweep his woman off her feet? You bet! Tristan wants Zeni but his plans go awry when she catches the eye of a television producer, filming in their small town. The producer offers her an audition but Tristan tries to talk her out of it then tries to help. But as circumstances try to keep them apart, love will always find a way.
A fun small town romance I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Tristan and Zeni have terrific chemistry and I loved reading their story. I'm a big fan of Jennifer Blake and this one is one of her best!
Saved writing a review until completion of the Benedict cousins, Camelot Knights, three stories. Lance, Beau and Trey Benedict were fortunate to have grown up with one another to share in all kinds of adventures, growing up in the small town of Chamelot Louisiana. It was truly enjoyable to get to know some of the residents of the close-knit town of Chamelot as each of these cousins, born within a sort time of one another, each came to find happiness and love in unexpected places.
I would recommend these stories for anyone needing a bit of an uplifting view of good, kind people. Sometimes life presents challenges that seem almost insurmountable, but with a little bit of help from family and friends, we just might be able to reach heights we never dreamed were possible. Long live the Knights of Chamelot!!
Zeni works with Tristian and practically runs his life for him. He owns several business including being a dirt bike racer and member of a motorcycle club. When a movie crew comes to town to shoot part of the film, everyone tries out to be extras, even Zeni. She’s picked to play a bit part of a Roman Queen in a dream sequence. The actor/director makes it know he wants her, but Tristian steps up and poses as her fiancé. Now the whole town believes their engaged and the more time they spend alone, the harder they fall. Zeni is determined to keep her distance but when several accidents happen, they think someone is trying to eliminate the competition, that being Tristian. Pretty good book. I just didn’t like Zeni’s attitude toward people and how they’d react to her past. A little suspense and steamy but not explicit.
A nice small town romance. When a movie production decides to film in their small town, Zeni catches the eye of the star/producer/director. Trey is not too happy about it. She is not interested in the guy, but it is a good chance for Trey to start expressing himself. Her secret was not what I was expecting, and I am a southern girl, so yay progress. I wish her smarts had been utilized more, even if just a bit about using chemistry to improve some recipes.
For my purposes I have decided to call some 'romance' book sexmance books. This author has a very good story that could easily stand on its own storywise. The characters are quite believable and easy to appreciate and do tie in with other books of this series. While not as graphic as some authors there is more copulation than needed. Otherwise this book could even serve as a roll model for young girls to value theirselves and stand up to those willing to take what isn't theirs to take.
There's so much to dislike here it's hard to know where to start. First of all, the characters are flat with a bunch of random qualities slapped on them to supposedly make them interesting; a non-sensical plot; and a writer that "tells" the reader the story instead of showing it to them. Not my style.
This book about a cook and waitress in a sleepy Southern town spoke to me. She's a highly intelligent woman, forced to dumb herself down to fit in, he's her boss and the man who is fascinated by her. Enter a movie crew and the star-director who gets and expects to get anyone her wants because he cannot be denied. Like that will fly.
Tristan has had his eye on Zeni for a while, but all she can see is stars when a production company comes to town. These two are a perfect match for each other, and the fireworks between them make for an intense, emotional journey to their HEA. This was another wonderful love story from one of my favorite authors.
Loved the book. Everything was realistic and kept you on edge to see what happened next. Loved the close family atmosphere between Trey, Beau and Lance along with their significant others.
Five stars for the wonderful deep characters Jennifer Blake has created. Each chapter shows the connection and chemistry between Tray and the unique Zeni. A must read for all - great job Ms Jennifer
This series has wonderful characters and storylines that capture your interest from beginning til end. I would recommend to anyone who likes steamy romance, friends and family.
I think I have now read all the books in this series. Wonderful stories. Strong southern men, intelligent, caring men. Strong women who love them back.
This is a good but somewhat average romance. The main characters Zeni and Grey are not quite believable enough to me. Zeni's big secret is nothing big. A let down really.
Compared to the first two books in this series I found this book lacking. While I loved Zeni throughout the other books this book, focused around her, seemed to lose all of her spunk and fire. There was nothing interesting here for me. I finished because I have enjoyed the series as a whole, but if this were a stand alone I'd have likely stopped reading part way through.
I just finished reading the last book in the Louisiana Knights series and I enjoyed each one of the books in this series. Jennifer Blake did a great job in developing the characters in each book. The way she carried over the characters to each made for a great read.
I love this book. Zeni and Trey are amazing characters. Their love is one that developed at such a slow rate that they were already head-over-heels in love with one another by the time they finally realized it. Zeni is a very smart but, also very insecure character. She covers that insecurity by being outlandish with her style and outspoken. She hides the truth right under their noses by distracting everyone with her flamboyance. Trey is a man who know which woman he wants but fears loosing her if he moves to quickly, which is 100% true. Zeni is scared to believe she deserves Trey or that she could ever be good enough for him. They make an amazing couple and I love them. I can't wait to read Jake's story. I just can't get enough of those Louisiana Knights.
