His first novel, ‘Mother Moon’, was given the IHIBRP 5 Star Recommended Read Award and Book Hippo Award.
Mythspinner Studios said: “Bob Goddard has a rare gift for description. Through his words, I've walked on the surface of the moon, laboriously climbed to the edge of a crater to survey the silent landscape beyond. I have felt my lungs fill with recycled air, and felt the talc-like powder give way beneath my boots. In other passages, I've felt the deck of a wooden ship shift beneath my feet as the wind takes the sail and filled my lungs with the crisp breeze off a glacier. I have felt the oppressive weight of the ages bear down on me as I uncovered relics from a bygone era and the rusted manacle bite into my wrist as I await my sentence.”
Bob lives in Norfolk, England and Cyprus.

Several years after their motorbike adventures in New Zealand (see: Land of the Long Wild Road) and inspired by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's TV series 'Long Way Round', Bob and Viv Goddard returned to the road for a bike trip to Eastern Europe. Taking in Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Poland they faced the horrors of endless roadworks, killer storms and young beauties enticing them (well, Bob anyway) away from their planned routes. This very entertaining tale, told with much humour and appropriately placed anecdotes by Bob, is a delight to read - yes, even in the gruesome 'death and destruction' sections - and some of their hair-raising (and hair-greying) adventures will leave you amazed that they ever managed to return home in one piece. Well worth a read even if you are not a biker!
